  1. Okay so turn tap to click on. But what does that do whether it's on or off? When it's off, what can't you do? What about the one just below that?
  2. While using my chromebook, I opened the touchpad settings and not sure if I turned anything off or not. Is there a way to set the touchpad settings to original settings? So these are the touchpad settings on chromebook but not sure if I turned off or turned on something that wasn't like that before. Built in Touchpad Enable tap to click - Off Use touchpad and keyboard to right click - Disabled The other options are search + click and alt + click. Enable tap dragging - Off Enable touchpad acceleration - On Touchpad speed- Right in the middle between slow and fast Enable reverse scrolling - Off From those things, did I change any of my original settings? I believe if I did, it was only one setting but not sure which one it may be?
  3. I posted a few comments recently on a youtube video. I noticed I got a notification and right clicked on it on the top right to open the comment in another window. I never done this. When I did this, a new chrome window opens and it is like a small thumbnail screenshot of the youtube video. I assume most people know what I mean by this right? I then closed the chrome window. Now had I just left clicked on the comment by the user, from the notifications then it would display go to a new chrome page and display the full comment as normal? On notifications, it showed a partial portion of the comment but I didn't want to click on it in case there was malware. I don't know how it works but I assume that is how it is? I rarely post comments on youtube but recently did that and got a reply back to my comment. The reason why I right clicked to open it was because I thought it would be safer that way for some reason but instead a chrome window opened where there is that what I mention above. I know I could have manually went straight to that video and then look for my comment and click on the view reply but didn't do that. I Now when I check my chrome history and highlight that chrome window that opened... it shows the website like this blow and I'm going to type it with a space in between the ytimg and the .com... otherwise it would show like a youtube link/logo like in the picture below what I just posted. https://i.ytimg .com/xxx/xxxxxx/hqdefault.jpg Is there any concern of malware/virus/keylogger or anything like that on my laptop? When I go to my chrome history and put my mouse on that website link.... it would show hqdefault.jpg. I assume there is no concern about this? I did go to my youtube comment I made and checked the person who replied to my youtube comment on the youtube video and they didn't post any link or anything like that on their reply... just a regular reply back. The i.ytimg thing isn't a big thing right and it's related to youtube? I used kaspersky total and scanned my computer and it found nothing. Now if say I clicked on a link from a reply to my comment on youtube by another user, that would be a concern right? But if you have kaspersky total or any other anti virus, would that remove any malware you have? What if you have only free windows defender? I am using windows 11 pro.
  4. Windows 11 Pro. Recently I noticed that when I left click on items on the taskbar or on chrome windows, left clicking doesn't work at all with the mouse. The only way to fix this issue is press control alt delete. When you do that, you have to use the down arrowkey on the keyboard and then press enter when it is on task manager. The reason is because you can't just move your mouse and click on task manager. You can't click it with either the mouse or the laptop scrollpad. I use a xps 15 9520 with a wired monitor and 2 external monitors. Does anyone know the cause of this issue? I googled this and many people mention they have this issue. The thing is I restarted my laptop. I also shut it down and turned it back on. For some reason, this issue keeps happening. So I have to control alt delete and use the keyboard and scroll and enter once on task manager every single time. Now my wireless mouse logitech trackball does have issues but even if it does, wouldn't the laptop scrollpad not have this issue though if clicking on something? I also recently just did a windows update as I haven't had that message in a long time and figure that would fix this issue but it is still there. Now when I do type in windows updates, there are several updates available to download. Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus- KB2267602 Version 1.403.3693.0 - Current Channel (Broad) 2023-02 Cumulative Update for >NET Framework 3.5 and 4.81.1 for Windows 11, version 22H2 for x64 (KB5034467) Windows 11, version 23H32 is available All of these give option to download and install. Also there is top option of download and install all. Do I do that and download and install all of these things? Note, my kaspersky total expired a while back so just using the free microsoft defender antivirus since then. I remember having this issue several times a while back and after a restart, it would fix the issue. But this time it didn't seem to fix it? You can't click anything on the taskbar and say you have several chrome tabs, well you can't click on different tabs when having multiple tabs open. You can't even x it either. Anyone know the reason for this? Is it possible it had something to do with my logitech trackball mouse which has issues? But my touchpad on the laptop shouldn't be affected though right? Because it has same issue.
  5. I have to renew kaspersky total again this year. On amazon, they have it for but it's $53 dollars. I bought it on sale last year. Anyone know where I can buy it for cheaper? Do most people here say defender is good enough? I feel kaspersky total probably gives more protection in case you click on a link or open a file or download a file compared to defender?
  6. I'm confused here. I thought people pay for VPN mainly so they could use netflix and hulu while in another country to view their home country? I recall lot of people recommend vpn for that. So if so, how would those streaming videos block it... if it seems common? I never had a netflix or any of those accounts but I always heard people pay for a vpn to bypass those things. So you are saying some sites are very strict with visitors? I am talking about even browsing the forum but not signing up at the forum. For example I recall when in another country, I get a message that I couldn't visit the website due to country restriction. But if I'm not in that country and in allowed country, then no issue visiting it. So I was curious does that mean a paid vpn would mean I could visit the website while in a restricted country. Are certain forums stricter than others or something? But that means an owner of a site can know 100% if a person is using a vpn or not? If so, do they pay some software to be able to check this or how does that work?
  7. Well I mean imagine you just watch adult videos and download it on a chromebook. You could use your own wifi connection but that isn't going to affect your wifi connection right? I done this before and haven't had any issue. But many times when watching or downloading, I would also use a free vpn like thundervpn or turbovpn but that doesn't do much right? Would a paid vpn be better? Now let say I want to use that same chromebook that possibly might have malware or keylogger due to me watching adult videos and downloading adult videos on the chromebook. Assuming I tether my cell phone data to use the internet on the chromebook and let say I don't use any vpn... not even the google play free vpn of thundervpn or turbo vpn... is there any risk of malware or virus affecting my cell phone data connection from now on? Thus whenever I use my cell phone data on the phone or use it to tether data for internet on this chromebook or say my main windows laptop that I do financial transactions on, there is no concern though right?
  8. There is a forum that I used to visit a long time ago but can't anymore due to it being country restricted now based on where I'm located. So pretty much most of the time where I'm located, I can't visit it. Does a VPN bypass this or not? Also it can't be a free vpn like say thundervpn or turbovpn from the google play store right? Currently using a chromebook right now. Do all sites have software that eventually detect you are using a vpn and eventually block you from the site because they know you are using a VPN? Would they be able to detect your real isp and thus block you? What about those paid vpn's though? I heard those work when using netflix and streaming sites but do other sites have real strong detection where using a VPN paid still won't work? Any which vpn would this be? Any vpn that offer 30 day free trial? And are there many of them where you can try 1 a month and then cancel just to try a bunch? I have used the free google play store vpn before and I don't believe those work well right?
  9. Suppose you have malware on your computer and it could be virus, keylogger, or anything like that. Let say it's a windows laptop. Now if you use your wifi connection, is there a risk that your wifi connection would get malware as well? Such that anyone that goes on that wifi connection could get their information compromised? By that I mean other people who use their own laptop or device on the same wifi network. The answer to this has to be absolutely not right? The reason being if someone was using say a coffee shop wifi and then check their email and click on a link that had malware in it, well that malware only affects their laptop right? Thus it isn't going to affect the coffee shop wifi connection since lot of people are there using it? Now let say the situation is different. Let say it's someone using their own wifi at home. They are using a windows laptop and possibly could have a virus or malware on it because they clicked on links before. Now any other people that uses the same wifi connection as this person isn't going to get infected right when doing whatever safe things on their device due? I mean this is same situation as above right pretty much? Now let say this person instead of using a windows laptop uses a chromebook and watch adult movies and even downloads videos that may or may not have malware but they do it on their chromebook which isn't their main computer that they do financial transactions on on their wifi connection. Any difference here? Or that even lessens the chance of anything since it isn't a windows machine? Now let's say that same person decides to use their cell phone's data and tether it on the same chromebook. Is there any risk to malware infecting that cell phone data or not? So this would also mean that same person who uses their regular windows laptop for financial transactions on their same home wifi connection or their cell phone data connection, there is no risk at all right as long as they aren't doing any dangerous things on their laptop?
  10. Hi again. Just to confirm this is the anker 737 powerbank you are talking about right? This is the anker 737 powerbank I bought. https://www.anker.com/products/a1289 https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Portable-Charger-Compatible/dp/B09VPHVT2Z?th=1 The reason I ask this is because other people on another forum either say it isn't compatible... or it should work but it's risky and they wouldn't risk connecting the dell xps 15 9520 usb-c charger to it. Someone else there did say it would work so I'm guessing mixed replies from you guys and the the other guys on the other forum. The thing is one guy on the other forum ... I believe they were confusing the anker 737 powerbank I'm talking about with this below, the anker portable charger 737 powerbank. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerCore-Charger-Delivery-Portable/dp/B08537MKBS/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1L1G6WXYIKCM1&keywords=anker+737&qid=1702862895&s=electronics&sprefix=anker+737%2Celectronics%2C179&sr=1-2 All the answers you gave me is concerning the anker 737 24000mah in the first 2 links right and not the link above?
  11. Now this is where I am very confused. I read that a lot of people have 140w or 100w or 65w usb-c chargers and these are usually from anker. Or it could be one of those apple magsafe 3 cables from apple? I would read about how people would charge their phone with those 140w or 100w or 65w usb-c chargers. The confusing thing here is those cost like $40 and up. There are some that cost $100 even. The apple magsafe 3 cables are like $80? 1. Why do people buy these 140w or 100w or 65w usb-c chargers for their phones? Are these people usually android users and not apple users? I find the Apple 20W usb-c adapter really fast at charging the iphone 13 mini and it's only 20W. I mean don't most iphone users use this to charge their iphones? But some want to charge it even faster so they have for a 140w or 100w or 65w charger? But what chargers do most android phone users use? I haven't had an android phone in a while but you can't just buy the Apple 20W usb-c adapter that cost $20 or so to use it? Or it's not compatible? Or they just want to charge their phone much faster? Also some of these usb-c charger seem to charge laptops as well as long as it doesn't draw lot of power. I don't understand the point of this. If you have your laptop with you... and your charger... why do you need this 140w or 100w or 65w charger with you? Since no matter what, you still going to need an outlet to connect your laptop to? Or is there something I'm missing here? 2. I read that people who have a macbook have those magsafe 3 cable to charge their macbook? I don't get it. Why would you pay $80 for it... if your macbook already came with a charger? Or is there something I'm missing here? Is it because the magsafe isn't as heavy as the macbook charger if you carry your mac around? That is the only thing I could possibly think of? 3. I recently bought an anker 737 powerbank that came with only a usb c to usb c cable. I was surprised how come it didn't come with a cable to charge it to an outlet. Apparently they also assumed you have a usb-c adapter similar to like apple? Well I used my Apple 20W usb-c cable along with the anker supplied usb c to usb c cable and was able to charge the anker to 100% but it took a long time. It took like over 4 hours at least to charge from under 20% to 100% battery. I also could possibly use my dell xps 15 9520 usb-c charger that is rated 130 watts right to charge the anker? Few people said I could and it would charge the anker 737 even faster. I do know dell would only allow max 90w or 100w but still it would be faster than the Apple 20w. But why do people buy these 140w or 100w or 65w usb wall chargers? In my situation, it isn't necessary right? I don't know what is the purpose of this unless you want to charge your device very fast? In my situation, would it even make sense buying any of these usb-c wall chargers from anker?
  12. I have a dell xps 15 9520 laptop. It uses a usb-c charging cable that came with dell and is 130w so I use this to charge my dell xps laptop and have it plugged in when using it. I have an iphone 13 mini that is my main phone. When I bought it, it came with the usb-c to lightning cable but it did not come with that wall adapter which surprised me back then but then I read that is how apple has done it the last few years. Seems like they assume you have an adapter. I also have an older iphone SE that I used before that and have that old small apple wall charger that is 5 watts I believe where you connect it to the wall and the usb a to lightning cable to charge the iphone SE. I'm sure you all know what wall charger I'm talking about with the old iphones. I then bought a Apple 20W usb-c charger as I read if you use that with the iphone 13 mini, it would charge the iphone a lot faster than compared if you charge it with the older cables I have. I remember testing it and it was true. Much faster to charge the iphone 13 mini with the 20W adapter as opposed to the 5W wall charger.
  13. Okay so I think I will just use the Apple 20W usb c charger for now. It would take over 5 hours though to charge it from 0 to 100% I believe. Some other person not on this forum said you have to be careful that your usb-c charger is compatible with this specific powerbank or there could be issues like if you have to match the volts or something like that? But this Apple 20W usb c charger is safe right for this anker? So rarely do people use a 20w usb charger to charge because they just don't want to wait long then right to charge it? When I was charging my dell xps laptop with the anker 737, I did this when the dell xps laptop was unplugged and had around 85% battery. The anker had around 98%. Yes I connected the anker supplied usb-c to usb-c cable from the anker 737 connected to the dell xps laptop. The watts it showed drawing at first was 60 watts but it then went down to under 40 watts pretty quickly. Then as the dell xps laptop battery was 90% and up, the anker showed like 20w or less. That makes sense right since the more battery the xps laptop has... the less watts the anker has to use then? I heard that dell limits non dell products to 100w. I am pretty sure if my xps laptop had say only 20% of battery... and say I plug the anker 737 to it to charge it... wouldn't it be very likely the watts it show would be 60w or even up to 100w? Dell xps 9520 battery is around 85% or so. I had let the xps unplugged to get the laptp battery to around 85%. Anker 737 is around 98%. By this, I meant I used the anker powerbank to charge the xps 9520 laptop when the xps laptop was unplugged and 85% battery. The anker 737 at the time had 98% battery. After about 35 minutes or so, the dell xps 9520 battery is close to 100%. The anker 737 battery is around 70%. By this, I meant after 35 minutes or so charging the xps 15 9520 laptop with the anker 737... the dell xps 9520 laptop is close to 100% battery. The anker went from around 98% to 70% to charge the xps laptop from 85% to almost 100%. My dell xps 9520 laptop battery is 86whr. Yes I noticed the wattage drawn changed a lot. The more it charged up the iphone 13 mini or dell xps 9520, the amount of watts it draws is much less once the iphone or xps is 90% or higher. And once it's 95% or higher, it's even less. I notice it was like 2 watts with the iphone 13 mini and look like it took forever to charge it to 100%. Throughout the whole charging, total input is 69 wh and total output was I believe a certain number that was under 30 and now shows 31 wh. Do these numbers all sound right? Also the temperature was max 80F or so. It shows on the anker screen that total input is 69 wh and total output was under 30 wh but then went to 31 wh when my laptop was almost fully charged up. That 69 wh number stayed constant pretty much the whole time for the total input I believe. The under 30 wh stayed for a long time for total input I believe until later on it showed 31 wh. But it could have been 31 wh for total output the whole time.
  14. I appreciate your long response and detail. Okay so that means that is how long it takes to charge the anker 737 with the 20w apple usb c charger. I don't mind that but it would take 5 hours at least if the anker 737 is 0% which is a long time. When it was charging, I don't think it went over 71F with the 20w apple usb-c charger. When connecting the anker 737 powerbank to xps laptop, shows weak charging state, please check power charger. Had similar message with the dell pw7018lc powerbank a while back. This is normal right? Dell xps 9520 battery is around 85% or so. I had let the xps unplugged to get the laptp battery to around 85%. Anker 737 is around 98%. After about 35 minutes or so, the dell xps 9520 battery is close to 100%. The anker 737 battery is around 70%. What I notice was when connecting the anker to the dell xps laptop at the beginning, it showed like almost 60 watts but it went down to around 40 watts on average. Then as the dell xps battery went up to 90% and up, the watts is under 20 watts. This is normal right? So had I connect the anker to the xps laptop when xps laptop is say 20%, then it would be at least 60 watts for a long time until the battery is at least over 80%? Throughout the whole charging, total input is 69 wh and total output was I believe a certain number that was under 30 and now shows 31 wh. Do these numbers all sound right? Also the temperature was max 80F or so.
  15. I used the 20W Apple usb-c charger that I use to charge my iphone 13 mini with the anker 737 but it took many hours to charge. The dell xps 15 9520 charging cable that is usb c ... what do you mean a removable usb-c cable? The charging cable for this laptop has the usb-c on the other end of this charging cable. You can't remove it... is that what you mean? If so, yea you cannot remove the usb c on the other end. I didn't use this to charge the anker 737 as I'm not for sure if it would have any issues so I used the 20W apple usb-c charger to charge the anker but it took over 4 hours at least to go from under 20% to 100%.
