  1. So this is probably a really dumb question, but are you sure the memory is seated properly? Also, is your motherboard beeping at you? If you haven't disabled it previously, the motherboard should beep three times with variations in how long those beeps are to help troubleshoot what the problems is.
  2. Confirmed. I have begun the RMA process with Asus. Thank you everyone
  3. Fresh Windows install does not resolve the issue. It definitely looks like it's at the hardware level, especially considering the UEFI indicates that my CPU base clock speed is 800MHz. Disabling BD PROCHOT using ThrottleStop temporarily resolves the issue (reverts back to 800MHz after shutdown or restart). V-Tune also indicated BD PROCHOT is throttling the CPU. I don't know why this is an issue though, and who is responsible for it: Intel or Asus/motherboard manufacturer.
  4. Windows should be fine but planning on doing a fresh install on a second ssd I have in the rig today. Contacted Intel support again and they'll be reopening and escalating my support request.
  5. I do not. I have a Start button, Reset button, MemOK! II switch, and a ReTry button. The MemOK!! II switch is for memory retraining when the mobo is unresponsive due to memory problems and whould be used when there is a system boot failure (summarized from the manual).
  6. Ok, so a couple of updates. It is not a memory compatibility issue. I have some "old" Corsair Vengeance RGB memory modules that I confirmed was on QVL list for the Maximus XI. The processor still comes up as 800MHz in UEFI and is stuck at 0.79GHz in task manager. So Intel is wrong. Asus meanwhile is having me check things that essentially isn't helping at all. So I did some digging and decided to install the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility. In it, I am seeing that my CPU is thermal throttling @ 33C. Not sure where to proceed from here besides continuing to research. If anyone has any ideas, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  7. But it shouldn't be the case if I'm running Prime95 or Cinebench right? I know that that speed is the default idle speed and I've turned off Intel SpeedStep in UEFI to try and mitigate the issue.
  8. I have an Intel Core i9-9900k in an Asus Maximus XI Hero (Wi-Fi) motherboard with Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB memory modules. Recently, I felt like my rig was a bit sluggish so I checked task manager and it said I was running at 0.79GHz. That was the case even when stress testing and benchmarking with Prime95 and Cinebench. Went to UEFI and saw that my clock speed was 800MHz. Tried the usual reset CMOS, update BIOS version, reinstall CPU and nothing worked. Finally gave in and contacted Intel and they said that my memory modules were not on Asus's QVL list for the motherboard. They suggested I contact Asus to confirm their findings and for a fix. I'm in the process of doing that now, but I wanted to see if anyone has seen or heard of this issue.
