Hi i have a decent cpu, I5 5675c, 16gb ddr3 ram, 2tb hdd, 500w 80 plus bronze psu, Sapphire 2gb r9 270x, Windows 10 pro.
I have reapplied thermal paste on both the cpu and gpu.
The pc is 8 years old built in 2013.
I had replaced the psu in 2018.
Since past 2 days after playing serious sam 4 on 1080p medium, my pc crashed i could get into safe mode
So, i cleaned up all the dust inside, i removed all the amd gpu drivers.
Now when i install the latest amd 21.1.1 or even older gpu drivers, the pc freezez with a black screen and even num lock gets frozen when the installer reaches 74% on installing AMD display driver, the same happens if i install through device manager.
When windows boots with the gpu, the normal boot gets frozen at a black screen even the NUM lock freezes, but i can get into safe mode.
Please help, is the GPU diying?
Edit: 1. I did try putting the gpu in a second pciex slot, still the same problem. 2. I have an old Nvidia 9600gt, put that in and all works well.
