I got my first ever mechanical keyboard! After looking at different keyboard YouTubers and fantasizing what it's like to type on a mech keyboard one day, I finally got it! Some backstory, I've always had those cheap office membrane keyboards ever since I had a computer. Now for my mech keyboard, it is the Redragon k552 Kumara mechanical keyboard. It has Outemu blue switches (i wanted red switches but they were out of stock) and it has full RGB! It's a hotswappable one so I think I will be using this for the long term. Do you guys have some tips on how to take care of it? I plan on using this for the long-term, so any helpful tips would be great!

how much data was ddrescue able to show? Can you show the output?
Unfortunately, didn't use ddrescue. Still used Stellar Data Recovery to save time and it already started recovering. The output I cannot show because it's mostly family photos I gout out of it. Also a powerpoint that doesn't even read but, eh I don't really care about school projects. What I'm concerned about is the raw footage from my trip which wasn't recovered due to the 1 GB limit. If this fails, I will try ddrescue.

Yea see how much you can get in that image. Might be able to mount if its just read only, or fix the filesystem/partition table. Might have to go file hunting though.
I recently did that, so I'm making a folder to put all the files I scavenged in one place.

what filesystem?
Make a image of it first with ddrescue.
Try using something like photorec.
Thank you! I will try to do that when my software didn't fully recover my media files.

I am currently recovering my flash drive with Stellar Data Recovery. Found it lying around the closet and it was unusable because it was write protected, can't even format it. So I recovered it with said software. Since I'm new to data recovery, what data recovery software do you recommend? It is much preferred if it is free.

I get motivated by watching a video game trailer or something worth anticipating. Sometimes when you're down and you feel like ending it all, trailers can sort of help you get through the day. The happiness might be gone, but the anticipation and the hope for better days will soon come.

Why would it matter, if there was the previous owner's stuff there still? You can just format the drive, thereby removing all of that. Many drives I've bought have had stuff on them as well and I do not see any reason to care. SMART-data matters, but not the stuff that's on the drive.
Yeah, that would make sense. Thanks for the tip!

Pretty much everything is fine, even if used. For SSDs and HDDs, it's typically best to ask the seller to show the SMART-data for the drive before purchase, but other than that, I see no problem.
Thank you for clarifying the SSD and HDD part. I was worried of buying used hard drives because I might see something I shouldn't see. Like 400 gigs of "Homework" or 5 seasons of Sesame Street.

Just a general question. I'm planning for a build next year and due to the questionable budget, I might have to cheap out on some other parts, but I am not sure what exactly. I'm aware of not buying a cheap power supply, however I am curious to know what hardware to buy even if it is used.

Can't be a stupid question if industry has already thought of it and is doing it.
Yeah I guess that does make a lot of sense. Thank you for answering my question though!

Not sure what you exactly mean by that.
But some boards do have dual sockets.
Though the cpu does need to support dual socket as well.
If the workload supports dual cpu's then yes.
Most if not all games don't though.
Thank you for enlightening me. I'm genuinely curious of how games would perform if they require dual cpu's.

Heck, this has been done since the '90's.
I meant PC's but yeah I guess it was sort of a stupid question .-.

you can, but they are generally reserved for server deployments, there is next to no real benefit for a consumer to use a dual socket motherboard.
If games or software require a lot of CPU juice, there would be a demand for dual socket mobo's right?
-
Might be a dumb, boomer question, but it got me thinking. If motherboards can support 2 identical GPU's, could they also support 2 identical CPU's? I'm bored so I'm just wondering what the future of PC building would be like.

What's is your budget?
My favorite for this application would probably be DT 880 600ohm better build quality very flat very detailed very analytical nice and comfy.
The dt770 250 ohm for closed back. Also detailed bass is very linear but digs deep into the subbass. Also pretty comfy.
Other headphones are the ath m40x, requires a pad change to get comfy but nice neutral sound. HD 600 super neutral sounding headphone. Ath r70x also super neutral but has a better bass response and detail retention than the 600.
I go with any budget, I just need options. I'm making a wishlist so yeah I just wanna get some choices :)))

Currently I'm using a low-budget pair of studio headphones (Samson SR850) and I'm still wondering if there's anything better than this. Not that I'm complaining about it, it sounds good and it captures raw sound pretty nicely. There's no added bass or any fancy additions to the headphones which I really like. I wanna ask you guys if there's any kind of studio headphones that are better in terms of sound quality and build quality? Also how comfortable it is because I use it everyday for long periods of time. Would love to know some recommendations!

The term is thock. Keyboard enthusiasts chase after thock like it's heroine.
Good examples:
You're not likely to find that in a stock off the shelf board. You'd be delving in to the world of modded or even full custom keyboards now.
O-rings and silents switch won't give you thock. They just give you less noise over all.
Thanks! I watch Taeha Types but I'm still a complete normie when it comes to these terms. Thank you for sharing!

Don't. Just get silenced switches. Orings are so horrible.
OP what's the budget like? You say gaming keyboard so I guess you want ARRGEEEBEEEE and horrible gaming font caps?
Yeah RGB and like idk I can go with any font caps

To further elaborate, I want a gaming keyboard, either tactile or linear, that has some sort of low pitch sound when it's pressed down. Not that familiar with keyboard terms, because I'm just putting my peripherals on a wish list and I haven't done enough research. If you have any keyboard type test videos so I can hear the kind of sound I wanna hear, that would be great!

Don't really understand the question. It's vastly inferior to current generation cards, and even some last generation cards for that matter, but the only question that every really matters is: is it good enough for you? If all you do is play CS:GO and LoL, sure, it's great. If you're wanting to play modern AAA titles at higher than low settings, probably not so much.
Yeah I meant playing new AAA titles like ones from Ubisoft or some other big game right now. Thank you for answering the question though!

I have been using my PC for 4 years now, it's showing signs of age, and my graphics card used to be pretty fast during that time running my favorite games at 100 FPS. Is the RX 560 still a good standard for today's graphics cards?
Hello! I got my first mechanical keyboard! Any tips on how to take care of it?

Thank you for the much needed information! Your insight about the Outemu switches is worth noting since I'll be buying a different set of key switches at some point in my life.
