  1. Turns out I suck at looking at notifications, sorry for the late reply! I was indeed referring to the power management within the Nvidia Control Panel, this did work for a bit before my monitors started flickering, the same as you we're referring to. I ended up going back to 457.51, I'm going to be trying the next release of drivers to see if it's any better (whenever those are released). Looks like it is an issue with 1080Ti's, so compatibility and stability is a concern for me at this point in time. Seeing as I can't et my hands on a non-scalped RTX 3080 in the UK
  2. After some extra research and help from a friend, we both found a fix for this issue. Had to set the power management to "prefer maximum performance", all seems well so far.
  3. Hello, I am creating this topic for a bit of guidance with the issue I'm getting with the latest GeForce driver (460.89) and (460.79), or to see if anyone else has had the same problem. So, after updating to the latest driver, all seems well. But within a minute of the driver being installed both of my screens start to flicker on and off, and eventually, showing different colours (ie, blue, yellow. Basically the colours you can choose in Windows) and system fans ramping up to full speed, only a hard reset will get me back to the desktop. With the occasional blue screen for good measure. It appears to me as if the driver is crashing. I've used DDU to remove all traced of current and previous drivers installed on my PC, with no luck. The (457.51) driver works with no issues. Has anyone else come across this issue? or have any ideas as to what may be causing it? Cheers in advanced. Extra system info below. CPU - i5 8600k @ 4.7Ghz Motherboard - Asus TUF Gaming Z390M (Wi-Fi) running most recent BIOS GPU - GTX 1080Ti FE, BIOS version 89.02.39.00.01 Windows Build - 20H2, 19042.685 Monitors - Asus ROG PG278Q 144Hz 2560 x 1440 + Samsung UE590 3840 x 2160
  4. Cheers, I'll give it a shot. I was talking to said friend about it, it turns out it has a beta BIOS on it, from when he was running his 3rd gen Ryzen on it. So I will be updating that later this week or at the weekend to see if helps.
  5. Oh no this platform is for my secondary PC, it had an I5 3570k and DDR3. My own rig is the 8600k. This is a part number that I have found on a local hardware store website - CMK16GX4M2A2400C16. This is a part number for the DIMMS that are currently on that system.
  6. Hello, I have recently bought a Ryzen 5 1600, MSI x370 Carbon Pro Gaming motherboard and Corsair LPX DDR4 2400HMz memory off a friend of mine for my other PC (it was getting quite dated) I am having troubles getting the memory to run at its full speed, task manager is reporting the speed as 1067Mhz or 1600Mhz. I have set the memory speed in the BIOS to 2400Mhz, which it likes to boot loop when this is set. Cpu-z is also reporting the same speeds as task manager. Am I missing anything? I am new to the Ryzen platform, as i have always has Intel for my personal rigs. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.
  7. That's good to hear! I just wanted to know from someone who actually does it! Thank you
  8. Hello, I am going to be liquid cooling my graphics card shortly and I just want to check the proper way to apply thermal paste to a GPU die. I am going to be using a NZXT Kraken G12 and a Corsair H55 AIO on my GTX 1080Ti founders edition. What is the best way to apply the paste to ensure that the card doesn't overheat or damage itself? It will be my first time taking apart a graphics card so I want to do it properly and in the safest way possible. Thanks in advanced! L
  9. Ahh okay, no worries. It seems like an absolute steal for the price!
  10. Lovely, I shall check it out! I didn't see that they posted a recent video about it...
  11. Hello folks, I am currently looking at buying a new monitor to complement my Samsung 4K display. I am looking at a 1440P 144Hz display for gaming. But I am struggling to decide on which brand/panel type. Does anyone have any suggestion on which would be best? Or if you have one, what do you think to it and how does it perform? I am open to all brands, my budget is in the £500 range, and a display size of 27". Thank you in advanced!
  12. Just downloaded it and it was that! I was wondering if it was display based! Cheers mate you're a legend!
  13. Hey guys, not sure if this is in the correct section... I have recently upgraded my graphics card to a GTX 1080Ti FE from a GTX 970 FTW+. I am having an issue where all the titles I have tried are all being locked to 95FPS (The Witcher 3, Black Ops 4, Overwatch and even Heaven Benchmark), I am currently using the latest drivers 419.67 and my current monitors are a pair of BenQ Rl2455HM's @ 60Hz Is this issue display based? If so, do any of you have any suggestions for a fix/resolution, or even a monitor worthy of an upgrade? My current system spec is as follows; -i5 8600K @5Ghz - 16 DDR4 @ 3000Hmz - GTX 1080Ti FE - Asus TUF Gaming Z-390M Cheers L
  14. Hello everyone, I recently bought a Nexus 6P and when I received the device it came with a non-standard charger for my region (UK). I was wondering if it would be safe to use a 5v/2a charger as opposed to a 5v/3a that comes with the device. This potentially won't be a permanent solution, only until I can get my hands on a UK charger. Thanks guys in advanced Luke
  15. Awesome man, I'll be looking into it a bit more and to see what others think. Thank you for the contribution though
