got the same problem!

My new hp omen 15 used to idle at around 40c-50c while plugged in and plugged out. After I updated windows, the gpu consistently runs at 55c when plugged in, and the cpu stays at around the same temp too. When I plug the laptop out, though, it goes back to 40c-45c. Temps in games are normal, only the idle temps have been affected processor: i5 8300h gpu: gtx 1060 3gb I'd appreciate any help! plugged out plugged in: (instantly after plugging it in)

I'm always trying to position my laptop on my cooling pad, and gosh does it annoy me

my bad, intel better for gaming, ryzen better for editing, rendering and the likes

it's justifiable, running everything on ultra 4k or perhaps he does VR simulation, something like DCS would would definitely benefit from that. why not ryzen though?
