  1. I am trying to get my mom off of satellite tv, she pays over 100 bucks a month for basic (local channels mainly) I have no clue how to go about it and I think a video explaining how to use the existing coax cable in a house(or other solutions) to run from a box/pc with local channels, dvr, etc would help out a ton of people. Most of what I've found looking into this is predatory stuff trying to trap elderly people.
  2. FOR THE LOVE OF... put the mobo and gpu in the N. That would even let you cut out an IO port. The side clearance issues you had would be gone because of the \ in the N.
  3. After this video I want to make some linus face texture mods like when monster factory did pizza dark souls
  4. I've had the case for over a year now and I really want to do something about the heat trap it is, I've already flipped the top fans because they were pushing air into my radiator instead of pulling out. Originally I was thinking of replacing the glass with a mesh but then I thought of the fans in laptops, consoles, and pcie cards that blow at 90 degrees. But I cant find the name for that type of fan. I need either two 200 mm fans of this style or three 120 mm according to the documentation for the case. able to connect to standard motherboard connectors with speed control and fingers crosed rbg. Hope someone can help
  5. I am definitely not an expert, but it looks like that case is designed to have every gpu and psu get their intake air from outside the case and immediately move it out. if you went with it I would definitely recommend getting a magnetic dust filter for the whole bottom intake grill. because the case has a pretty straightforward front to back intake personally I think that the cpu cooler you chose is fine. The media on newegg from lianli says it has 165mm clearance for cpu cooler (heck they're showing it off with a bequiet giant). So if you're worried about cpu cooling still you "should" be able to fit this in a DEEPCOOL ASSASSIN III it does have clearance for your ram if you put the sticks in first. Really not sure if those slim fans will fit under a 3 slot on the bottom or if they would even be necessary.
  6. wanted to post an update. Another reason I hope this will make it on techlinked is it might actually put some pressure on them to not screw over everyone
  7. ---------------------------------------------- Summary recently I received an email prompting me to transfer from google play music to youtube music. Apparently they are finally planning on ending GPM this year. However the transfer process is not as streamlined as they wish you to believe and leaves out an extremely important detail I had to learn on my own as a first adopter of google play music. Every song in your thumbs up playlist will be irreversibly merged into your liked video playlist. Personally this caused my youtube liked videos playlist to jump from around 300 videos to over 1200. Quotes My thoughts Looking at the reviews there have been a multitude of issues all around as well. However this specific thing is absolutely dismal. I definitely believe this news is helpful to many people to know so they won't have to spend many hours removing songs from their playlists. I've seen reviews listing it doesn't allow transfering to a different account, so if your youtube account is used for media production you're out of luck and more. the features have been gutted as well from no background play to clunky new ui. In the screenshot only 3 of the 9 videos shown should be in that playlist. Sources https://music.youtube.com/transfer
  8. a surface for under 1k might work but would not meet the same specs. looking at the surface 7 for 2k is far out of budget. Making my own AIO seems an incredibly fun project. This isn't something I would need to have done and ready within a month.
  9. Budget (including currency): less than a wacom mobilestudio pro, preferably less than 1000 usd Country: usa Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: photoshop, gimp, other art programs that are expected to run smoothly for digital art Other details: What I'm trying to replicate quality wise https://www.wacom.com/en-us/products/pen-computers/wacom-mobilestudio-pro The concept is to buy a far cheaper pen display and mount the motherboard to the back making something in a similar form factor. I'm unsure if an apu would be better than a mini itx or even a raspberry, or possibly (most likely) salvaging a laptop motherboard. currently I'm looking at the gaomon 156pro as the display which is 344.16 × 193.59mm (13.6" x 7.6") https://www.gaomon.net/Pen_Display/PD156PRO.html specs I want to match are: 16 gb ram i7 8559u whatever the Intel® Iris™ Plus Graphics 655 is (think thats just cpu graphics) screen resolution isnt as much of an issue to me 1920x1080 should suffice
