Afterburner ignores my settings each time computer is locked?
Geeksta84 replied to Geeksta84's topic in Graphics Cards
After watching it closely for longer, in addition to the lock issue, it is randomly ignoring my clock settings throughout the day. I am not seeing any correlation to something that is trigging it to ignore the settings like locking or unlocking so far. Just every couple hours with no locking I look over and its suddenly running at default clocks. -
Afterburner ignores my settings each time computer is locked?
Geeksta84 replied to Geeksta84's topic in Graphics Cards
So 4.6.4 Beta 3 is kind of working lol. It appears to keep my settings when i lock and unlock my computer, but its also not immediately on my screen when I unlock, it pops up after a few seconds and starts out at 1900MHz then after a few more seconds goes to my settings . So its saving them and applying them when my computer isn't locked, but still looks like its running at stock when the computer is locked ugh. -

Oh okay, I figured the beta would be the less stable one. Ill give it a shot thanks. -

I am on 4.6.2 and started with uninstall and install with latest version . Sorry should have said that. -

Unfortunately that did not do it, now I can at least just click profile 1 each time instead of adjusting fan though. -

Okay sweet thanks ill see how that goes! I hope its that simple lol. -
I have the following settings applied in afterburner(shown below) since I am mining with nicehash. Most of the time everything works great but when I lock and unlock it my clock speeds are back up to 1900MHz instead of around 1600MHz for the 300MHz underclock I have set. All I have been doing when I see this is just move the fan speed bar and then set it back to 75% and apply it then its back to proper clocks. If I do not change anything it appears it will stay up until a restart, I gave it a full work day once and it didn't go back down. Is this normal? If so is there a way to make afterburner use my settings when the computer is locked? The most profitable time to mine for me is when I'm asleep or away from my computer and both times I would normally lock my computer for. Settings I use: What it shows after locking and unlocking computer:

Afterburner Occasionally Ignores My Core Clock Settings

I thought maybe it jumps past my underclock if the load is too high and it needs to but then shouldn't it go back down when the higher clocks are not needed or after the load goes back down? Additionally, I am only ever using a browser and watching youtube videos when this occurs. I always pause nicehash and turn off my underclock if I am going to game. -

I understand that the clock speed is going to jump around a bit between the base and boost clocks but is it normal to have to go well above them?

Keeping my fingers crossed for yah man cuz if that's not it I have no clue lol. Hopefully another tech god comes around if it isn't.

That might be a little high for a 65W chip but certainly not the problem or anything to be concerned about just no AC. As long as CPU and GPU are not going over 85C during heavy game play i would not worry. The Kernel Power error doesn't tell you anything accept that there was unexpected power loss. That could be bad power from your house or from your power supply. It could also be a hardware issue with a number of components that causes powerless like a bad MB capacitor. At this point hopefully someone more experienced comes to help haha but I would recommend trying to find a consistent error that comes up just before the kernel power error that might be causing the kernel power error. Other than that its kind of hard unless you have a way to ensure your wall outlet isn't supplying bad power by using a power conditioner or battery backup or trying a new power supply out. Sorry I do not have more to offer but you could try below too. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/client-management/troubleshoot-event-id-41-restart

Pc told me something was wrong, I rebooted, and now no display
Geeksta84 replied to JaydenIsAPig's topic in Troubleshooting
So this page should give you some stuff to try. If you literally are not getting fan spin indicator lights or anything though. First thing I would do is disconnect power hold power button down for full 30 seconds. Plug power back in and hold power button again. If you are comfortable opening your system a cmos reset would be next after that. -
Interesting, not sure why switching outlets would work unless the outlet was dead all together. For your other issue the most likely culprits are still the "power adapter" and router/modem, with the addition of your isp if its happening on other devices connected to your network at the same time.

Are you positive its not fans? They could be doing this only when at specific high rpms during heavy loads. You checked all fans including gpu at various speeds. No cable or tag could be getting sucked into a fan only at high rpm? I really feel like that's it from the sound. It could be a weird coil whine too maybe but normally those are a constant tone like in jays video below.
