How to turn an extremely cheap mechanical keyboard to something a bit more refined,(?)

So while cleaning out my laptop fans I accidentally dropped a magnetic screwdriver head onto the motherboard, which then sparked twice but didn't release any smoke. Now my laptop display won't turn on but it still holds a charge and still powers my mouse and cooling pad up via USB ports. Processor still gets power though(I know because it still heats up). Anything I can possibly do to try getting the thing to boot up? or is it just dead?
