  1. (everything in the PC is new) I just built a gaming PC and I consider myself knowledgeable to do so but I have had nothing but issues. The first motherboard would not POST so I figured out it was very common for that board to be DOA. I got a new board today and installed it. Here is what I am currently experiencing - The computer POSTS and everything seems fine honestly. I was able to set EXPO for the 6000mhz RAM...but none of the case fans will turn on...including the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 240 that I bought new for this computer. I have tried all the fan headers, only have 1 fan plugged in, etc. I have no idea what is going on. I don't think it is a PSU issue since the computer turns on no problem and goes to BIOS. BIOS shows that the fans are at 0RPM but the profiles set for the fan should have the fans blasting since the CPU gets above 80c very quickly with no cooling. I should mention that obviously none of the fans turned on with the other board as well (assuming it was DOA but maybe not?). I can't imagine every fan header doesn't work on a brand new board...that sounds too low of a possibility to be a thing. Doesn't this sound crazy? lol I am hoping someone on here has heard of something similar to this and can give me some ideas. I really don't want to tear this computer apart again unless I have an actual reason. It's so bizarre that the fans don't work. Specs- 7800x3d MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi G SKILL 32GB 6000mhz RAM 2 NZXT Case fans that came with the H7 Flow everything is in 1000W Thermaltake PSU there is no GPU in it right now. I am connected to DP on the motherboard using the 7800x3d integrated GPU EDIT ---------------- I figured it out! Just in case someone comes across this 6 years from now, the answer was the power supply. My power supply has the 24 pin split in 2 on the power supply side. I only had part of it plugged in and it seems that was why none of the fans weren't working. The motherboard wasn't getting enough power is why they weren't working. I don't know why I didn't plug in all of it to begin with but that was the problem!
  2. So that means the bottleneck is the router or the cable between your router and your modem.
  3. So if you connect to a port on your router you do not get the 460/22?
  4. It depends how large of an area you want the router to cover as well as the max download/upload mbps of your internet.
  5. I believe I used a program called drivesweeper but you may want to search around and find one you are comfortable with.
  6. Since it is happening in your browser too, it could be the video card. I would use a software to completely wipe the video drivers off the laptop, reboot, and reinstall the newest driver to see if it fixes it.
  7. I am wondering if you are just not getting video output and the computer actually is turning on. If not, you should probably up the computer and verify everything is connected properly. Here are few things to get you started - Make sure the computer is turned off and unplugged verify the GPU is firmly seated in the PCIe slot verify the RAM DIMMs are firmly seated in the RAM slots. I would even take them out and put them back in Verify the 8 pin, and 24 pin power connectors to the motherboard are firmly plugged in (also the 4 pin if the board has it Try to reset the CMOS by removing it and holding down the power button for about 1 minute before putting the CMOS back in See if it will turn on.
  8. I would go for something other than the 3000 series right now unless you find one at MSRP. Their prices are too out of control. A 2070 could be a good option.
  9. How comfortable are you with opening up your computer and removing your CMOS battery from your motherboard? You would unplug the computer from the wall, remove the CMOS for about 5 minutes and while it is removed hold down the power button on the computer for about 1 minute to remove any charge. Then put the CMOS back in, plug the computer back in and try to turn it on. Youtube may help if you need assistance with this.
  10. What about the other questions - How often are these FPS drops and how long do they last? Is it when you are on a certain part of the map or looking at something in particular?
  11. Which ever hard drive that you have the game installed on, is it possible it is having issues? How often are these FPS drops and how long do they last? Is it when you are on a certain part of the map or looking at something in particular?
  12. Thank you for the help. I ended up replacing the motherboard and the new one works. You can check the original post up top for the update I posted. Thanks!
  13. That's interesting but I think it may just be the power supply making the noise. It made the same noise when my computer was working with my old CPU and motherboard.
  14. Hello! I just recently upgraded to a ASUS B550-F Gaming board with a AMD 5800x and I cannot get it to boot. I have already done what I think is flash the bios - I put the most recent full release BIOS version (not beta) on a USB drive and renamed it to "RSB550FG.CAP". I then put the USB in the motherboard with nothing else in it other than a M.2 drive. I held the button down for 3 seconds and the light started blinking. It blinked for probably 3-4 minutes before going out. Sometimes the blinking was faster and sometimes it was slower but it was never super fast. I assume it worked because the manual says that as long as the light doesn't stay solid green and never goes out, it is doing something. So I put everything into the computer. When I turn on the power supply the VRM has the ROG logo and it immediately lights up and stays lit. I hit the power button and there is a audible click like the computer is turning on. I see the GPU fans spin but only for about 1.25 seconds before they stop. The GPU fans are the only things that move. I have verified a million times that the CPU fans are plugged into the header labeled "CPU FAN". All of the motherboard power connectors are secure. I don't know what the problem could be. My RAM is known working because I used it in my old PC. I do not see any LEDs on the board to tell me the issue. I have removed the CMOS and held the power button for a minute to reset everything. My hope is that somewhere else here has ran into this issue. I saw a post from around July 2020 that was similar to this and they said you have to have an older AMD processor to update the BIOS. That makes no sense to me because these boards have the flashback feature. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I am out of ideas and I don't know what to do. Even the box that this board came in says that it is, "AMD 5000 Series Ready!". EDIT UPDATE: After all of this troubleshooting, Asus told me that the board needed to be replaced and that it had a hardware issue. Because it was faster, I chose to exchange it with the online marketplace that I bought it from. The new board, same exact model, works without any issues. So just in case someone else runs into this in the future, just know that the motherboard ended up being dead.
  15. When you say unplug.. you mean unplug the power adapter/charger? It does not do the dimming thing when the power adapter/charger is not plugged in?
