  1. thinking of "downgrading" to the EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Super SC Ultra, save like 80 dollars and seems like a capable graphics card for my potential uses
  2. Thanks, this is a tough part of the build for me as i really dont game on PC now, but want to be capable should that change in the future. Recommend anything else in that price range? Its hard to justify spending much more than 300 on the GPU, but i do want to be future proof to an extent, and definitely dont want something with issues.
  3. Unfortunately the only PSU i seem to find available around that wattage is the ROG-STRIX-550G Asus unit ( fully modular , 80+ gold) for $129, I could also get a higher wattage corsair RM750X for $160 though
  4. went into a bit more detail in post, but primarily being used as a work computer that I would like to be able to game on a bit.
  5. Thanks, sounds like this will likely never be an issue for me then. Makes finding a suitable PSU easier, appreciate it.
  6. Budget (including currency): 1400 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Used primariliy for work, 2-3 monitor many browser tabs with some applications . Would also like to be able to do basic gaming in the future ( have very basic monitors currently old Asus 1080 i think 76 hz 5ms, and likey will not upgrade for a while. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Dialing in my build before purchase , have not built or had a pc in a very long time, currently using a macbook pro to power 2 monitors and its just screaming and hot all day lol. Hi All, building a new computer ( has been many years for me) any advice/suggestions appreciated. Ive made many changes along the way just trying to dial it in before purchase. Using mostly for work ( lots of web browser tabs 2-3 monitors ) but would like to be able to do some light gaming down the road. Has been tough to narrow down with lots of items out of stock, but i do have access to everything listed, for around this pricing ( currently around 30-40 less) Ryzen 7 3700x Asus TUF GAMING x570 WiFi G.Skill Trident z Neo 2x16 3600 CL16 Crucial P1 1TB NVME M.2 Seagate 2TB 7200 HD EVGA RTX 2060 KO ULTRA Fractal Meshify C ( light tint) Having trouble selecting a PSU ( because of availability of course, but also I get compatibility notes in PC part picker about the mobo having an additional 4-pin ATX connector bit the power supply does not. Will this be an issue? Any easy way to determine which PSUs would have that ? Build sits right around $1200 total without the PSU ( figure another $100-150 if/when I find one) Thanks all! 7. definitely an option, can save about $30 going with the MSI B450 and good wifi card. rather than the 570 with wifi
  8. Thank you very much for the information , i was originally leaning towards the b450 but proving difficult to find an available option with wifi at a price lower than the 570
  9. Unfortunately on my end the psu is on "back order" on new egg but yes, you are able to order it , just unsure of when it would be in stock. The motherboard , i am having trouble finding wifi units at fair pricing, which are in stock. Thank you
  10. Okay so the Ryzen 7 3700x does seem like i can fit into my budget, and get better performace. Here is first attempt at a parts list with the 7. thanks everyone for your help so far. 11. hey thanks, this looks very close to what i am now thinking, unfortunately a few parts unavailable or crazy overpriced at the moment though ( power supply and mobo seem tough)
  12. True, I did not bother to select motherboard yet as I was still on the fence about which CPU would be best, i just wanted to set up a basic list to hopefully get started in the right direction, i do think based on everyones responses so far I think i would be better off going with a slightly better CPU. I also wanted to ensure the system has good WiFi so that was a factor for selecting motherboard as well ( or purchasing separately if necessary )
  13. I am not doing much video editing, i mostly do tons of browser tabs as well as multiple applications running across 2-3 monitors. Lots of information being constantly updated i need to pull real time. Really appreciate your input!
  14. Thanks for your response. Some awesome looking keyboards there, much appreciated
  15. Budget (including currency): $1000-$1500 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for work, running 2-3 monitors all day with multiple applications. Would also like to be able to handle some light gaming, but not a priority. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Price/performance is most important to me, but also wanting to have nice aesthetics with some RGB thrown in, to have the custom look. Definitely want to go AMD Ryzen , but i am open to any suggestions. Thanks for any help /advice I havent built anything in about 10 years, so definitely not up on all the new tech, but have attempted a start below: PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/jrgMYH CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor ($167.00 @ Newegg) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($129.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive ($99.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ Newegg) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB GAMING X Video Card ($237.99 @ Best Buy) Case: NZXT H510 Elite ATX Mid Tower Case ($149.99 @ Best Buy) Power Supply: Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply ($99.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $939.94 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-31 10:18 EDT-0400
