  1. @SupaKomputa What is the best way to stream Amazon Prime, Netflix, Youtube to TV ?
  2. Hi, On October this year I am planning to buy an Android TV Box. My budget is Rs 2000. I found some Android TV Boxes on Amazon which are within my budget but then I watched this video >>>Please click here The duration of the video is just 5 mins so please watch it and tell me what do you think. Since I have never used a Android TV Box I have no experience so kindly visit Amazon.in and suggest an Android TV Box for me.
  3. Honestly speaking the idea of a Dolby Atmos or even 5.1 setup attracts me a lot & I will be buying a Dolby Atmos enabled Soundbar in the near future. Still I just love watching movies using my Sennheiser wireless headphones. While watching a movie I switch off all the lights in the room & as as soon as I wear the headphones I can watch the movie with great concentration. Do you think this is a crazy idea ? Who else shares my habit ?
  4. I have posted this on another forum but then I thought lets ask my friends here. I know nothing about AV receivers. Never used one. So I am curious. I have used 5.1 speakers with the computer in the past. All I had to do was plug in 3 jacks to the 3 females on the motherboard. The only cost was the price of the 5.1 speakers. But now that I am using a LED TV & want a 5.1 setup I am told that I need an AV receiver. Probably a stupid question but why doesn't digital cable set top boxes or modern TVs offer a 5.1 output just like DVD players & computers offer ? Why this extra need for a AV receiver ?
  5. Hi, At the moment I have connected a Logitech 2.1 speaker system to my Panasonic LED TV using the TV's headphone jack. As you know from this set up I get 2 channel stereo output. I am planning to buy a 5.1 system like this one >>> Click here I watch TV in two ways. 1)Digital Cable. The set top box is connected to the TV using HDMI. My set top box has no support for Dolby audio. It only supports stereo. 2)USB flash drive. I copy downloaded videos to a USB flash drive then I plug in the flash drive to my TV's USB port. Most of the videos that I watch this way has 5.1 audio. If I purchase the speaker I mentioned above how do I connect it to my TV so that I get 5.1 audio ?
  6. The 2.1 speaker's step down transformer went bad. This may support your theory. The Nvidia card still functions but the DVI & HDMI ports are dead. Only the VGA works. As you can see this can't be caused by bad power. The usb sound card has a terrible build quality. It no longer functions. The WD external drive lasted just 3 months. On the other hand my Samsung SSD which is 4 years old is still rock solid. The Asus Fonepad has so much tiny internal memory that the routine Android updates filled it up. It hanged and now won't boot. As you can see its very unlikely that a bad power has caused all these devices to fail. Thanks a lot for your reply.
  7. Almost all the electronics that I have purchased in the last 5 years are dead. Just want to vent my frustration with my friends here. Please see attachment. Other than the items I mentioned here I also purchased a Sennheiser wireless headphone & a Raspberry Pi 2. Both of them are also gone.
  8. Amazon Prime video & Netflix too are up converted ? Never used them so I am curious.
  9. @kirashi Thanks. In your opinion what is the best way to watch HD content on TV ? We will be moving to a new house soon & I am thinking of cancelling my digital cable connection.
  10. Why does Cable TV & DTH offer signal in 1080i ? Why not 1080p ? In comparison to Cable TV when I watch videos using the USB port of my TV the picture quality is much better. Is OTT the only option if I want to watch in progressive instead of interlaced ?
  11. I don't use Windows. I use Linux. Under Linux I use VLC, Smplayer (with mpv backend), Audacious. Do you know a way to do this under Linux ?
  12. You specifically mentioned headphones. So it works only with headphones ? It doesn't work with stereo speakers ? Can you tell me which software player can do this ?
  13. I want to understand what Virtual surround is. Is it possible to create Virtual surround sound using 2 channels ? (I don't have a 5.1 speaker setup. I use Creative SBS 2.1) To achieve Virtual surround is it mandatory to have a 6 channels source ? I mean the file that is used as the source ? Lastly, I use Linux. No Windows here. Is it possible to achieve Virtual surround under Linux ?
  14. Frankly, I don't know anything about Soundbars. Never used one. That's why I am asking.
  15. Hi, I use a Panasonic TV at home. I have connected my Logitech 2.1 speaker to my TV using the TV's headphone jack. The sound quality is quite impressive. When I search for Soundbars on Amazon I see that the price of a Soundbar is much higher than a 2.1 speaker system. Please explain to me how a Soundbar is better/superior to a 2.1 Speaker
