  1. Hi, I'm having a strange issue where I get unusually low fps in games like Against the Storm and Deep Rock Galactic. I have to put everything on low settings to get playable framerates, but I have an RTX 3080. I didn't particularly notice any issues in Prodeus or Hrot. It seems like a driver issue somehow, because I can briefly solve the issue by reinstalling newer or older drivers (haven't tried reinstalling the same driver version yet). Then I get the expected performance for one gaming session, but it goes back to poor performance the next time I launch a game. Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? Ryzen 5800X3D, RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, Win10. Thanks
  2. Since you're playing more sightseeing style games rather than competitive shooters, the higher resolution might be worth sticking with. Faster refresh rate will feel smoother both in games and in Windows though.
  3. How would I connect the JBL 305p to my computer? I only see XLR and 1/4 TRS inputs.
  4. The JBLs have quite a few reviews on Amazon that mention the hiss, which makes me a bit hesitant, but I'll still consider the 305p as an option. What about Edifier? Like the R1280DBs? They are a pretty good price. Thanks for all the input.
  5. Would you expect the JBL 305p to have less idle hiss than the CR3 (assuming a good set)? Is that what you mean by a risk of hum?
  6. Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for an upgrade to my ~15 year old Logitech Z-640 5.1 surround speakers that I use with my PC for gaming, music, youtube, etc. I'm not looking for anything super expensive. I'd consider something up to around $300, but preferably more like $150. I tried the Mackie CR3-X and they generally sounded pretty good, but they had significantly weaker bass than the Z-640s, and they had a constant hiss that was noticeable. With the Z-640s, I have to lean in very close to be able to hear their hiss. I'd be open to 2.0, 2.1, or 5.1 setups. I've looked at a few that I've heard mentioned, like the Neumi BS5P, Klipsch ProMedia 2.1, and Micca PB42X. I also considered the Mackie CR5-X for better bass than the CR3-X, although I worry that they would have the same level of hiss. I have a Soundblaster Zx sound card, and would prefer to avoid needing an external amp. Does anyone have any good recommendations, or should I just keep using my Z-640s until they die? Thanks
  7. It would have been amazing if the watercooling tubing could have been integrated into the building, but I imagine that would be really difficult.
  8. My Corsair HX750i handles a Ryzen 3700X and RTX 3080 just fine, though the 3080 is undervolted a little bit. Not because it didn't work at stock, but the power savings seemed worth it. That said, if I were buying a new PSU, I'd probably get something like 1000W for the seemingly high powered future of PC parts.
  9. Yes, it will work. I'm using two PCIe cables from my Corsair HX750i to power a 3-connector EVGA 3080 FTW3.
  10. Not really, you can get 1440p 165Hz monitors for around $300 now.
  11. With a 3080Ti, have you considered upgrading your monitor to 1440p or 4k rather than upgrading your cpu to alleviate the bottleneck? A 3080Ti seems like massive overkill for 1080p.
  12. I've read good things about this one: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-XZ342CK-Pbmiiphx-Certified-DisplayHDR400/dp/B08BW3XS12/ref=sr_1_1?crid=IEAK91HDL9DF&dchild=1&keywords=acer+nitro+ultrawide+monitor&qid=1608784666&sprefix=acer+nitro+ult%2Caps%2C240&sr=8-1
