  1. Thanks for the advice. I was just looking into it and it seems that an accelerometer is the way to go. Are there any compatibility issues for Arduino that I need to take note of when searching for an accelerometer? Are there any like resolution / accuracy ratings?
  2. Hi All, This is my first dabble into trying to build my own little gadget. I want to build like a 12 sided dice, and use a microchip that can tell me what is the exact orientation of the dice. So essentially telling me what number did the dice roll on. Since I am new to this whole new world, I am not even certain what terminology to use. Would such a microchip be a 3-axis accelerometer or a gyroscope? And if I want to use it with Arduino or Raspberry Pi (not sure which is more suitable), will there be compatibility issues that I need to look out for? Appreciate all the help and guidance. Thank you!
  3. Hi, I have a related question. I have the same mobo, GPU is a RTX 2070 Super. I noticed that sometimes when I boot my machine, the white LED light stays on, but it boots and works normally. And sometimes the white LED goes away after booting. Any idea what the white LED stuck on means?
  4. Hi Guys, I am no programmer and I need help trying to figure out how I can create a script that will search through craigslist for posting that has images similar to what I am looking for. i.e. I wanna buy a specific type of table and have an image of it. Can I use that image as the input (like how google image search does), and the script will look through craigslist postings and find all the postings that have images similar to what I have given. Not sure how complicated this will be. But wanted to see if anyone has done something like this before. Thank you!!!
  5. Hi All, I recently built my first PC and I installed a Cooler Master Masterliquid ML240L AIO. This is probably the 4th day since. And I began hearing a rattling noise coming from the AIO pump. I am not sure what to do. Is this a known issue with the AIO or do I need to do something to get rid of it? I am thinking is it a air bubble thing that I need to rotate the pump around to let it escape? Any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  6. Hi All! I am a first time PC builder and I finally built my first PC just now. But I am encountering some GPU / monitor related issue that idk how to troubleshoot or pin point. Hope some experts here can help. Here is my system: Ryzen 3700x ASUS TUF X570 Gaming Plus Gigabyte Windforce OC 2070 Super G.skill Ram Intel 660p NVMe M.2 AOC AG352UCG monitor Here is the timeline on what happened. After finishing my build, I started up the system for the very first time. The mobo has a Q led diagnostic thing, and it got stuck a VGA. I didn't know what to do, so I tried rebooting it again to see if it will work. It didn't. I tried installing the GPU and the power cables to the GPU. It finally booted and I began installing windows. Everything was working fine, until when I was messing with the monitor, I used the joystick to open the control panel on the monitor and that was when my screen went dark and from then on, both DP and HDMI has no signal. No matter how many times I tried switching the input signals, tried different DP output on my GPU, tried the HDMI output, i could not get any signal on my monitor. At this time, I rebooted my system and realized that I am stuck a VGA led again. I reinstalled the GPU and now everything is working again. I do not know what is causing this issue. The GPU is definitely installed correctly, I checked to make sure it is fully pressed into the mobo, and the power cables are also installed. I am really puzzled. What checks can I do to narrow down the root of this problem? Is this the monitor or the GPU? I am afraid to even touch the settings on my monitor now.
  7. I have finally realized how stock PSU cables are SO ugly!
  8. Hi, I am a first time builder and I am trying to power my GPU (2070 Super) It has a 6 pin and 8 pin power connector. Am I supposed to use 2 separate PCI-E connector cables to connect 1 to the 8pin and 1 to the 6pin? Or am I supposed to use 1 cable that has the chain loop to connect both the 8 and 6 pin with 1 cable? Helppppp.
  9. Even if the Crosshair 7 is a X470 board? I heard really mixed reviews on the prime pro. What is the reason the Elite is ranked lower? Edit: what about all their X470 counterparts as well?
  10. Don't ASUS have their EZ flash or something along that line?
  11. I bought a Ryzen 3700x, with 2070 super. I am looking at these few motherboards, but I do not know which is the most recommended board to get. - Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite - ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus - ASUS ROG Crosshair VII Hero (X470) - ASUS Prime X570 Pro I am not planning to do any extreme overclocking, maybe just a little (I heard Ryzen don't OC much either way) And my budget is around $200 USD. A little over is ok as well. I do not really need PCIe 4.0. But I have heard that X570 boards are generally better built. Will love to hear any comments & recommendations.
  12. You suggest installing the chipset driver from the motherboard first then AMD? I am guessing it is because AMD might have the latest copy? Why do I need to remove my display drivers? Can't I just update them straight from Nvidia website?
  13. Should I not perform any updates for the chipset? Other than GPU & CPU drivers, are there any other drivers that I should update? Storage (do they have drivers? LOL)
  14. Thanks for all the input. A little confusing and lost to be honest. haha! I looked on the ASUS TUF page, and it has: - ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 - ASUS EZ Flash 3 - ASUS UEFI BIOS EZ Mode I did a quick search and if I understood it right, it means I can update the BIOS without a CPU installed? That is if I were to opt for a X470 board, right?
  15. Hi All, This is my first time building a PC, and I am trying to figure out what are all the steps and things that I should do (like a checklist of sorts) once I finish building the PC. I am building: - Ryzen 3700X - GeForce 2070 Super - X470 or X570 motherboard (haven't decided on one yet cause availability) - would welcome recommendation for a balanced mobo. Heard that the ASUS TUF is good, but i really don't like that yellow LOL - DDR4-3600 16GB RAM - 750W 80+ Gold PSU - NZXT H510 case So I know I need to install Windows first. Then update drivers. But if I need to update Bios, should I do it before Windows install? So what is the sequence that I should update all the drivers, what drivers do I need to update, where do I find them, and how do I make sure if I have the latest. Also, what are the software that I should download? Ryzen Master and MSI Afterburner? I hope this is not asking too much. Really appreciate the help! Thank you!!!
  16. Hey thanks all for your input! I knew I can count on this forum Here is my updated list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Bz7hx6 I basically changed the motherboard to a X470 and added a HDD. I got a compatibility warning, saying that I might need to update the BIOS for the motherboard so that it is compatible with Ryzen 3rd Gen. I have no idea how to do that, but I am sure I can do some googling for instructions. My main concern is that I will need a older CPU (which I do not have any) in order to update the BIOS. Is that going to be an issue, or will new orders usually come with the latest BIOS already?
  17. wait a min, does that mean that NOT ALL x470 motherboards support Ryzen 3rd gen? I was looking at ASUS Prime X470-pro since the black and white matches the case more. Should I be checking somewhere if it supports Ryzen 3rd gen first?
  18. hmmmmm... I will look into X470 motherboards then. I am not sure if my other components support PCIe 4.0 even (do they???) Is that X470 board a good mid tier board?
  19. I have seen some build guide recommending the Team T Force RAM. Are they comparable with the G.Skill ones? I read somewhere about the die used being important, and since I am new to this, I am not sure if it is a good choice. Also, isn't DDR4-3600 important to get the most out of the Ryzen CPU?
  20. is X570 really not that much better than a B450? I figured if I am gonna get the latest Ryzen, I should make use of the latest chipset too right?
  21. Any comments on the motherboard and GPU? I am a little unsure about that GPU. It looks good, with 3 fans and all. But it is cheaper than others with 2 fans. So I am not sure if I am making a good choice for a 2070 Super...
