  1. Ops, sorry i meant "Idle" temperature of the SSD. But it's good to know your ambient as well Max temp of M.2 depends on the manufacturer, but usually they're in the ball of 80degC
  2. Is that ambient temperature? Because if you're doing heavy reads and/or rights; that actually normal. If it's IDLE and reading those kinds of temps; then that's NOT normal. Assuming they are normal and if you're concerned about temps you can buy heatsinks+thermal pads for your SSDs You also do not need to worry about temps in general in a working SSD since the SSD regulate themselves to avoid overheating. If it gets too hot; it slows down.
  3. >>This is a copy paste of my post in reddit with a few additions (italized) Hey everyone! Just got my screwdriver today! Wanted to share my experience, especially to those who ordered their screwdrivers from non US/Canada addresses and especially to the Philippine fans who are having doubts on ordering due to possible delivery challenges. With that, I'm from Cebu, Philippines btw I've really been eyeing LTT's screwdriver since it was announced and have been avidly following/watching updates/videos of it. That's why when It was dropped, I just said to heck with it, I'm buying one. Honestly have doubts about ordering due to where I am. There have been recommendations in using proxy delivery services like shippingcart but their rates are absurd, you can almost buy a new screwdriver for their rate; and honestly would prefer direct shipping since user experience I found on reddit are really bad. Anyway, with my to heck with it mentality now active. I was part of Wave 3. Screwdriver+Bits cost me 76.98USD and another 17.99USD for shipping(Total: 94.97USD). My ordered got fullfilled October 22, 2022. Packaged arrived today January 03, 2022 Packaged was delivered by PHLPOST; our country's post-office As expected, the delivery dude asked for payment for the customs fees; and was really surprised that I only got to pay about 112PHP(about 2USD). With that package took about 73 days to reach my hands. OTHER REMARKS: -For reference, I had my screwdrivers delivered to our office address. No call/text from PHLPOST, the delivery man just arrived and fortunately I was at the office. That being said, I received my package on the first attempt and was fortunately at the office; not sure if they'll reach out if I was not -Package surprisingly looked great. The only thing not in place I guess is the default screwdriver set disloged from its slot and the bits inside were a mess(likely due to the magnet bit since the bits where stuck to it) -Not LTT's fault, just highlighting this first, but the Wizmo tracking is super inaccurate; checking it now; it still says my package is in Canada haha. Reddit comments shed better light on this in which there's an actual more details method to view the status of the delivery. Wizmo says Canada, but checking it actually shows it did arrive in PH way back December 01, 2022. Basically, it took about 1 month locally in PH to ship my order to my address. I am posting this to hopefully lessen doubts of PH Fans who wanted to order in LTT store
  4. Just talking about the OS itself: The Apple ecosystem is top notch; integration very seamnless; in a lot of cases you do NOT need to install anything, built in right into the OS; if you have multiple apple devices, then you might want to hold out on switching. That's coming from me an windows/linux(CentOS)/android user Also consider if you're comfortable switching to android; because that's another learning curve that you might not want to experience.
  5. Nice! EDIT: I guess this is a proprietary copy technology? Not sure if Tera Copy uses robocopy as its backend
  6. Op, found one. Youtube recommended this video (google's watching as usual): CHOEZYCOPY: https://github.com/Cinchoo/ChoEazyCopy PS: Love the name haha
  7. Hey guys, wondering if there is a software that is able to run/do robo copy functionality, but via a User Interface. Been doing it via CLI, and honestly, its getting annoying hahaha Yeah, I could create a script if its repetitive, but my copies are random, not on a fixed folder. Hope someone can recommend Thank you!
  8. what do you mean by "losing performance"? Do you encouter any issues when you do connect your laptop to said display?
  9. UPDATE: After searching far and wide, the YT algorithm finally gave in and recommended this video It's a different laptop, more or less the same scenario (less since both have the same density, rather than one being different) TL'DR of the video: 1. Depends on the game/workload; may greatly matter, or not 2. True indeed, more or less than 10% performance boosts ON certain games that are RAM dependent 3. GPU intensive games dont care 4. Improvements in terms of FPS can be seen a lot on the 1% lows As mentioned by @Covelight I've also seen in other articles/forums (didnt' note the link sadly, that it seems to impact AMD processors more than Intel. Even considering that, the impact is not that high, as well as it depends on the game/workload. Anyway, from what I get from everything, inlcuding this discussion is here is i shouldn't worry to much. Hopefully though, Lenovo unlocks XMP profiles in the future. That way I have a very good reason to buy matched/dual-channel RAM sticks. Thanks everyone!
  10. Agree, i've heared that Ryzen CPU's have better performance the more Ranks you have **correct me if i stated that incorrectly
  11. have you one through a recent windows update? Sometimes update files are left by the system You can check it in Storage Settings (just search for it @ start) The view should show you a general view on your storage utilization. To delete temporary files, just click Temporay Files and delete files as required. You can also use a 3rd-party software WinDirStat to further help you pinpoint storage usage.
  12. Hey guys! Quick question TL'DR: Should I be worried that I have different RAM Densities installed on my system? Long version: Just recently i've bought a Lenovo Legion 5 with the ff. base specs: CPU: i7-10750H RAM: 8GB DISK: 512GB NVMe SSD GPU: RTX 2060 During said purchase. I've requested an additional stick to make it 16GB. It's all working well so far. But just recently: I also saw this video: Video mentioning how RAM density is affecting performance Now this made me curious of my system. I did further digging on the RAM that was added to my system: >The original 8GB stick that my machine has a density of 1Rx8, while the additional stick was running 1Rx16 >Besides that, all the other RAM specs are the same; timings based on speccy show the same values as well; both are 3200MHz, same brand: Kingston (but as per checking, different chip manufacturer) >RAM stability test tools, so far output no issues, and I am able to 100% utilize my RAM (Lenovo Vantage software has a RAM checking tool, I also run a few memory tester, software based tho, which I honestly forgot the names, i'll get back to you on them if you need them) So with that, here are my questions: 1. Are there any significant issues that this setup causes? Objectively, my games run fine, no stutters (so far) 2. Are there any significant performance drops that I may encounter with this setup? How significant is it? -I cant seem to find any videos/articles that have tried to benchmark/test this kind of scenario. Usually, what is shown to me are videos/articles regarding mixing different RAM speeds, amounts etc. but not mixing based on ranks. PS: -I am considering in the future to buy paired RAM sticks (reason why i did not buy this during laptop purchase is due to component shortage in our country, as well as during my pre-purchase research, Lenovo Legion 5 does not offer in the BIOS enabling XMP profile, which I also verified in my system, even with a BIOS update) -I did not do the upgrade, it was the vendor of said laptop (not sure it matters, but the vendor is also Lenovo Certified Service Center) Appreciate your thoughts people! Thank you!
  13. Hey guys! Hope you can help me with this question here's the scenario: -I've got two laptops; Laptop A and Laptop B, both have steam installed and logged-in using the same account -I have one External SSD which I plan to use as an external steam drive on Laptop A Question: 1. Can i transfer the externaL SSD to laptop B, add it as a library and detect the games on the external SSD automatically with no additional setups/downloads required? 2. and vice-versa? connecting it back to Laptop A The reason why I have this setup is because, laptop B is my personal gaming laptop at home, while laptop A, is at our office. Office internet is 10x faster at home. Also dont want to carry two laptops everytime. Also downloading a lot of games
