  1. Yes, good idea. To re-flash my bios I just need to download the current version and take a flash drive and just update it like it was a new version? is there any problem doing that? Things I didn't test: -Format -Switch power line -Re-flash bios
  2. i'm not sure about that and i don't know how much power (peak and continuous) my psus are rated for, but my biuld draws at full load around 390-480w and i think a 750w gold psu is enough for that (my current PSU).
  3. i have 2 PSUs and 3 GPUs at home. I tested all of them, the pc still shuts down. I think is a mobo issue because the mobo was already getting weird, remember that i said that my mobo was turning on and off very quickly and repeatedly before starting up, well this issue was already present before the shutdowns.
  4. Hello, how are you doing, i'm not fine as the title suggests. i've been having this absurdly annoying problem since early april of this year, and i still didn't managed to solve it. But, i already made 2 posts on this forum and people relly helped me out, seriously, thank you. The things i know is that it isn't overheating, faulty PSU, neither faulty GPU. At this point i know it's probably a faulty motherboard, maybe it isn't handling the GPU power delivery, every time the pc shuts down, in fact it does not shutdown it restarts and it even sends me back to the "the bios was set do default settings" screen. another weird thing is that the pc struggles to turn back on, it keeps turning on and off repeatedly (before the bios screen shows up.) if you guys can help me or say something i could try other than: "replace the motherboard" it would be very welcome. NOTES: - Don't ask me do download or try stress tests I have (almost) every kind of it installed and tried all of them, the only one that showed relevant results was furmark, wich the pc shuts down after 10 min or so - My problem is VERY similar to this guy, except his problem is a faulty PSU: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/7trnqg/pc_shutdown_with_high_gpu_usage/ - PC specs: i7 6700K; RTX 2060 Super; MSI Z270 Krait Gaming; 2X hyperx fury 8gb DDR4 2133mhz; EVGA 750GQ
  5. I have a friend that could borrow it. I'm going to test it out i'll keep you guys posted.
  6. never, I tried to but i didn't had a special screwdriver to take it apart. weird... for me thermal issues in the GPU caused them to reduce their clock not shut your sistem down.
  7. There you go, I ran for almost 1 hour and nothing happened, does this means is the gpu's fault or it could be something else?
  8. i never tested it out and i've heard of this program but never used it. what it does?
  9. maybe someday i could borrow it. But i have on-board graphics to test out.
  10. I strongly recommend to read the original thread: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1172255-pc-shutting-down-at-high-gpu-usage-not-overheating/?tab=comments#comment-13436186 So if you're new to this saga of mine or if you where helping me in the original thread, HOHOHO i got some bad news! The power supply swap didn't work at all! Just to give some people a context to this, my PC is shutting off after a while when the GPU is above 60% usage or so, and yes i know this could be overheating but it isn't, the GPU mantains 55~67C at 100% usage, so some people in the other thread suggested me that the issue could be the PSU since it was a EVGA 500W 80+ white and my sistem (more details in the link above) was stressing too much the poor 6 year old PSU, so i swapped it for a brand new EVGA 750GQ and for my surprise it didn't work the PC still shuts down, so that leaves us to the motherboard or the GPU itself, if you guys can help me out please let me know, and i just wanted to say that i appreciate the kindness of the people that helped me out, thank you.
  11. Yeah i thought about that. This PSU is form my older sistem (wich was a pre-built) uhhh.. iknow i was 11 at the time. So the funny thing is that I got this PSU in this sistem for 2 years and it didn't crashed! So yeah I was going to swap psu anyways.
  12. So if you read the title you figured out that my pc is shutting down, the interesting thing is that isn't by overheating (CPU mantains 56C and GPU 64C) I ran a stress test on the GPU and it shuts down at 10-25 minutes or so. I also checked the CPU, i ran a stress test and nothing happens, i also switched PCI-E slots and cables, it didn't solved as well, checking the event viwer it shows error 41 "the system has rebooted without first cleanly shutting-down. It can be caused if the system stops responding, crashes, or loses power unexpectedly". so with that we can conclude that it maybe is the PSU, GPU or motherboard i'm not asking if you guys can solve this I just want if you guys can point me out if is one of this candidates, but if you can solve this any suggestion will be welcome! Full PC specs: CPU: I7-6700K (stock clocks) GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Gigabyte G1 Gaming (I don't know if is Rev. 1.0 or 2.0) Motherboard: MSI Z270 Krait Gaming RAM: 8GB DDR4 Hyperx Fury (2133Mhz, two modules, dual channel) PSU: EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Water cooler: Masterliquid Pro 120
