So I am never buying pre-built ever again. I had to this time out of necessity but never again. Ordered a custom build from ibuypower selecting what I THOUGHT was a 2080ti fe only to have it arrive and it be a msi blower version in there. UGH! Okay, immature first world rant over haha.
So the cards temps are surprisingly decent with it never going above 74c on full load with 4k resolution at 70-74% fan speed. I know blower models tend to have poor thermals so I seemed to have lucked out in that department. The card works really well but the noise is so damn loud. Like nerve racking loud. I know that the card is fine, the temps are decent, and that 70-74 percent fan speed is safe but I am considering, at this point, getting an aftermarket cooler. I am just scared to death of ruining this card as i have never taken apart a graphics card let alone install a new cooling system. I don't want to do it unless there is no other option.
Is there any way to manage the noise? or am I doomed to risk my new card and attempt to install an accelero?
p.s
I hope everyone is staying home and staying safe during this pandemic.
