  1. Sorry for the late response guys thanks for the input. The only thing i'm still wondering about is, wouldn't you want to have a sound card anyway even with something like a focusrite scarlett 6i6? i'm assuming my friend will be outputting audio to speakers, so why would you want to output integrated sound from his board to the scarlett 6i6. I'm also pretty sure that he will be getting an AXE-FX II for his guitar recordings so if that has any bearing let me know. Sorry if i'm not making a whole lot of sense. i'm still somewhat new to pc parts for audio recording. Thanks again guys.
  2. Hey how's it going? i'm going to be building a PC soon for a buddy but i just want second opinions on the build i'm thinking. he has a budget of $2500. He's big into music production and needs enough power to run Cubase 7, and Superior drummer 2 as well as whatever else, browsing, games, guitar pro etc... This is kind of what i was thinking so far... i was also wondering if you guys thought a 4770k is enough to handle everything he may throw at it. Case: Corsair C70 Motherboard: Asus Z87 Sabertooth CPU: 4770k Memory: 16gb of 1866 Video Card: GTX 770 Sound: Sound Blaster ZXR Storage: 256gb ssd, and a 2TB SSHD Power Supply: Corsair 860i Appreciate it guys, Thanks.
  3. I'll deffinitly consider going open ear for sure. just thought closed would be better for some reason. Thanks again guys.
  4. Cool, havn't heard about AKG so i'll take a took. Thanks
  5. Hey guys, I'm looking into buying a high quality headset for a reasonable price. Just looking for some ideas on some good products. I'm trying to find headphones with at least 110db output; preferably higher. Thanks guys. Price: $250 max (CAD) Aim: Gaming, Lossless music, Music production Style: Closed Ear Jack: Almost any conncetion except usb is fine Audio taste: My music taste is heavy/technical metal but something with good quality sound is the main thing. Sound Card: I don't have the sound card yet but i'm looking at buying the Sound Blaster Zxr Mic: I would like an external microphone as well so suggestions are welcome.
