  1. Hello guys, I have a question to the resident AMD GPU owners here. I managed to get my hands on a RX 6800 XT and I am wondering, after reading all the tests, if the performance of the card will improve when AMD brings out better drivers? I heard that they had this problem before, but since this is my first AMD card I have no reference. I wonder especially about the reasons why games like Dirt 5 are so close behind the RTX 3080, while others like Control just fall behind massively? Will this improve in the future and is it worth it to wait for it? Thanks for your wisdom!
  2. Any advice how to get this white stuff away? The vinegar and distilled water did not remove all... When i drained the water, there were many small particles everywhere.
  3. I don't think I can verify it since I don't have a jumper I took some pictures after I opened it up. I also dropped the copper plate in coke and filled the rad with a mix of distilled water and vinegar and let it stand over night
  4. @jaslionIt is mounted in the front, so the top of the rad is at the same height as the pump. I know, not ideal, but it has been there always. It is 3 years old now, I have added distilled water like 6 months ago, to top it off, and now i noticed, through the little window, that the liquid has small particles in it. These were not there before I filled it up. @StahlmannI have tried another 3 times, once with x pattern, once with 5 spots, 1 middle, 4 in the corners and once with a graphite pad and a little paste to hold it in place. Same result, sometimes 8-10 degrees warmer, but always idle over 55 degrees. I I was wondering about the pressure too, when i screw them in by hand it feels like i can tighten them really really hard. They can't bottom out, since they go through the backplate (that x shaped plastic thing) and they are all differently far in there, some look out and some are still not through... maybe that's worth a try? Like to make sure that they all go through similar amounts?
  5. Hey guys, I have a weird problem. This morning I took apart my PC for cleaning. I am sporting an i7 8700 and an alphacool eisbär 280 on an Asus TUF Z370-Pro. So far my temps at idle were around 37 degrees and at 100% in cinebench they were at around 75 degrees. After I had put it back together, including new paste for the cooler (arctic mx 4, grain of rice method), my idle temps were around 60 degrees, going to around 100 right away when I opened cinebench... So I re-installed the cooler, assuming that I must have messed up putting it back. But even though I did this 5 times now, the lowest for idle that I am getting is 56 degrees and pretty much right away to 100 in cinebench. If I start a game (borderlands 3) it shoots up to 100 and stays between 80 and 100 degrees. I am using HWMonitor to read out temps, but I also checked in the bios. When i turn off the machine, and go to the bios, the temperature does not drop, as long as I am in the bios. I can hear the pump running, and using Fan Expert 4 Core I can manually change the speed, which causes an audible and measurable change, but the temps stay the same.... One of the pipes going to the rad is much warmer than the other, so I am assuming that there is flow happening. I don't know what to do anymore, if anyone has an idea, please help
  6. It is even better than people bidding them up. I found this:
  7. I just found this and instantly loved it
  8. That must be a joke... or the dollar has lost way more value than i thought
  9. I got the NVIDIA notification 1 hour too late
  10. I am watching ebay a bit, it's absolutely crazy. People are writing stuff like "i am selling my 3 out of 4 asus TUF 3080"... what a world we live in
  11. Kinda sucks that they don't really stock up before a big launch, thanks to NVIDIA trying to be there before the consols
  12. In Germany they didn't even really appear on amazon yet... there is a zotac hanging around... that no one wants it seems. Everything else is just not even appearing
  13. PCIe risers can cause stuff like that, try to put it in the board without it and monitor it over some time
  14. Do you think the RTX 3080 will resell for a lot? Like, is it worth the effort?
