Shlouski reacted to GOTSpectrum for a blog entry, Day Two - Shlouski, Warp 9... Engage
Day two is always an interesting one, on the one hand, it is still early in the event and as we know, everything is subject to change, but, we start to see what things look like when people are getting into the groove of things. I have to say those at the higher end of the table really do never stop amazing me. But those aren't the most impressive people, the fact that someone is willing to throw their only computer at the event is what really impresses me. Those that are willing to take the only device they have, and use it to run folding. YOU are the incredible people in this event.

I decided I enjoyed looking at the team as a whole yesterday, so we will do it again. After all, we may like the ranks but we are a team first, a team working together for SCIENCE. Today the team as a whole has produced 1,898,421,113 points, a significant increase on yesterday, making the over the two days of the event 3,483,078,584 points. Today we worked through 5,480 WUs, meaning that as a whole so far the team has folded a total of 10,153 WUs. The top 10% of the team produced 38% of the team's points for today, While the top 50 produced 71% and the top 100 did 86%. That works out to, 720,544,784.00 points for the top 10, 1,347,242,308.00 for the top 50 and 1,634,113,726.00 points for the top 100 participants.

Well, I have to say the top 10 aren't looking all that interesting so we are going to fire through them and then move on to have a look at a few other people throughout the ranks. Sitting on the throne we have the man of the hour..er... day with Mxyzptlk taking up the number one spot once again. He is certainly in the sprinting phase of the event and it will be interesting to see if he can go the distance. He takes the rank with 236,087,735 points, an incredible number for only two days into the event. However it has to be said, Shlouski who is up next in second place, did outproduce the pack leader, he takes the second spot on the table with 231,053,841 points. miker07 is once again in the number three spot with 202,241,541 and is looking to be relatively comfortable in his place there, jakkuh_t continues cruising along with the camino rig sitting in fourth place with 187,084,508 points. Justaphf is in fifth place with 147,972,594 points and doesn't look like he will pose a threat to anyone above without some serious reinforcements. Alex Atkin UK is once again in 6th place with 101,550,573 million points, making him the 6th person of the event so far to pass the 100 million point threshold, although I feel we will see a lot more people passing that by the end of the event. Gorgon is next up taking up his 7th rank for the second day in a row. He takes the place with 73,132,891 points. vsteel is in 8th place with 70,707,550 points and _Rlocke is up next with 61,675,003 points. Finally, we have the honourable gatekeeper, the post is filled by the man with all the data himself, LAR_Systems is taking up the post with 61,522,807 points.

Now we have gone through the top ten, let's have a look at some other people throughout the ranks. The first person I want to point out is pretty high in the rankings, firedfly sitting in 13th has gained 8 places today, displacing a number of people including myself. Next up we have a familiar name in these events, Baha has finally got off to a start after having a little bit of misfortune, gaining 252 ranks, not that it means all that much this early in the event, he takes the rank of 22nd with 32,656,181 points. Another person who seems to have only started today, Struck sits in 33rd with 22,651,005 points. If they can keep up that level of production throughout the event I have to say they will do very well indeed. Going a little further down the ranks we have Bigjoe35, who gained 61 places today sitting in 51st, taking the ranks with 14,422,607 points. Moving down the table ten ranks to 61st we have HaRdLy007 who seems to have produced for the first time today also, taking the rank with 12,693,392 points.

The man, the only man to see a 100m point day so far during this event is all grown up, taking his first billion points on the 11th day of the event. Truly incredible, I remember when one billion in one event would be something impossible. But now, here we are seeing it in less than two weeks. Part of me can't wait to see what kind of power we will have in five more years.

Shlouski is the man, the man to beat, and it seems like there is no one among us who can beat him. Although I have to say Miker is looking pretty sus right now. Anyway, he takes the throne with 1,022,625,393 points. miker07 could capitalise on the lower production we have seen out of the to-be king if he can't manage to recover his production rate. It's only one bad day for the time being but if I was Miker and I wanted to push for the throne, I would do it now. It is looking like we will see out second billion point total in the near future with Miker taking the second rank with 978,280,251 points. Igor_Sinelnikov seems to have upped his pace and is looking to keep the rank he has! He takes the rank with 591,043,387 points. Mxyzptlk  has caused a little bit of an upset and has clawed himself up a rank taking the number four spot, I don't see any reasonable way for Mxy to take anymore ranks unwell we see major shifts, either from "Mixie" himself or from the guys ahead. Regardless I'm sure he is happy to take the rank with 506,382,163 points. Justaphf is the man who has lost out and finds himself fallen down to fifth, he seems mostly safe in that rank is all things stay as they are. He has been relegated with 503,071,117 points.

Gorgon isn't looking as safe as I would like for him, looking down the ranks there are a few people who could pose a challenge to him in the long term. He takes the rank with 412,348,787 points. Oromit is up next in 6th place with 349,674,046 points, he did match Gorgons production today, but we have already seen just how much the man can do if he feels the need. _Rlocke has caused another upset for us to be entertained by, taking the rank of 8th with 334,692,293 points. LAR_Systems has fallen a rank thanks to Mr. Locke, taking the rank with 331,999,088 points. finally we have the honourable gatekeeper, Ben_F is once again taking up the post of rearguard for this update and I'm starting to he likes it there. He takes the spot with 300,841,156 points.

OhBoy has once again gained a couple ranks finding himself in 19th with 114,249,396 points. Further down the ranks in 39th we have Calador who has made a gain of six ranks taking the spot with 53,556,883 points. We don't have to look much lower to see another great gain, with dustrusty in rank 44th has gained 7 ranks today. Finally, we are going to look at builder_baker down in rank 56, who had a solid gain of 6 ranks this update taking his place with 37,579,055 points.

Well well, isn't it about time we saw a true 100m day from Shlouski, That is the headliner for this update, it's certainly not the highest production we have ever seen during a folding event but is still mightily impressive. I have been watching the stats closely today as something piqued my interest, I really thought Miker was going to hit the century production mark on the same day. But alas, we may have to wait to see him ascend to such heights.

Shlouski is the true king today, giving us a production rate not yet seen during this event, he quite rightly sits on the throne with an incredible 832,119,151 points. I remember it was only a couple years ago that hitting one billion points was the highlight of maybe one or two participants right at the end of the event. But we are on a track to see a number of people hit that mark with miker07 also well on his way, taking the number two rank with 789,585,504 points. It can be said that Mr Miker is definitely keeping Shlouski honest, but one has to ask, is that all he is good for, or can he truly challenge for the throne. One thing is certain, everytime we have seen higher production from Miker, we have seen the baby yoda match in kind. But the real question has to be, how much more do they both have in the tank? Igor_Sinelnikov is still kicking, taking the third place with a cool half billion, 500,377,631 points to be precise. He has a good day today, we saw a little bit more out of him today than yesterday, I was highly concerned he would fall into a deep slumber of obscurity. Justaphf is once again in fourth place, we say a little more production out of him today, but it is not enough to stay ahead of Mxy in the long term unless he falters. None-the-less he takes the rank with a total of 410,842,182 points for today. Mxyzptlk has also had a good day today, we could certainly be seeing a leapfrog happen in the not to distant future. He takes the number five spot with 397,030,165 points.

Gorgon once again is the person who is the first in the second group we comment on, it is true that he has had to drop his production rate with the increase of power over there but he still is certainly at the top of the table for a reason. He takes 6th with 349,665,066 points. Oromit is the one who has found themselves in 7th for this update with an incredible 287,674,445 points. There's not much to comment on here so let's move on to LAR_Systems, the man of the almighty database of stats, taking 8th with 271,695,134 points. _Rlocke is certainly someone I am watching with interest in these updates, he has proven himself in previous events that he is capable of great things, he takes 9th with 262,893,990 points. Finally we have the honourable gatekeeper, once again we have Ben_F taking up the post of rear-guard for this update. He takes the rank with 221,353,635 points.

Well it would not be an update without us checking in with my little rising star, OhBoy has once again climbed a decent number of ranks, this time we have seen a climb of 5 ranks. We have seen a social 19m out of him today and he takes the rank of 21st with 77,781,885 points. Down in rank 39th we see bigygf has had a great day climbing 9 ranks with a total of 42,472,153 points. Finally we see Arrogath who is in rank 72nd, he has 18,287,025 points so far for this event.

Shlouski reacted to GOTSpectrum for a blog entry, Day Four - Baha Strikes
So an alternative title for this would be Shoulski breaks the stats. As cbigfoot mentioned, he is producing so much the stats just don't line up, keep going man, let's see what you can do. Baha has come out of nowhere and struck right at the top of the table. It's good to see someone willing to shake things up even with such a short event.

Shoulski continues to show us just want a man on a mission can do, pushing the envelope ever higher, taking the number one spot with 260.7 million points. Miker07 is remaining in second place with a yet still highly impressive 211.9 million points, he certainly won't be going any higher but I thinks it's fair to say he is looking quite safe. Mxyzptlk is certainly not going to be making any waves but taking the third place with 179.1 million points. Justaphf is once again in the number four spot with a 112.6 million points, looking solidly placed, unless there are any issues on their end I imagine they will be happy with their showing for the first part of the summer folding sprint. Starman is in 5th place with 62 million points, and it has to be said their place is not looking quite as safe as those who came before. I'm hoping he will step up his game and set his GPUs to excitement mode.

Pezui is taking the number 6 spot, and with 60.3 million points, it's looking like CT854 could be ramping up to a challenge who is currently the next in the stack with 56.2 million points. Baha is the man, the legend we are all going to be talking about, it's like he came out of nowhere with a swift decisive action. Taking the number 8 spot with 52.7 million points. Favebook has fallen a rank to number 9 with 51.9 million and vsteel has also dropped a rank to take up the honorable position of gate keeper with 48.7 million points.

Well, here we are enjoying a little shake up in the ranks. I hope you are all enjoying yourselves and most of all enjoying the event as usual.

Shlouski reacted to GOTSpectrum for a blog entry, Day Three - Over One Billion
Well here we are, day three and even with only our small number of participants we are surpassed the one billion mark already. Thank you to everyone who has got involved so far, no matter if you have produced 100 million, or 100 points, you are appreciated.

Shlouski continues to push forward in first place, with 187.9 million points, it is looking like they aren't going to be caught during this event, but who knows, a few mercenaries here and there could lead to a massive change. Miker07 is taking the number two spot so far with 157.3 million points and once again is looking very safe in their position. Mxyzptlk, which is a username by dyslexia hates, is sitting in third place 133.7 million points. Justaphf is in fourth place with 84.2 million points. and it has to be said although I don't see then going any further up the rankings, they are certainly looking very safe in their current 'slot' on the leaderboards. Starman57 remains in fifth place with 46 million points, although this is a cemented place as Pezui is not far behind with 45.3 million points. The great chinese tigre is up next with 40.3 million points favebook, who has 39.2 million points, could mount a challenge, will a little more effort we could see a race between the two pop up. vsteel is in ninth place with 36.3 million points and finally our very own cbigfoot is in the gatekeeper position with 34.3 million points.

as you can see, many people are giving their all and it will be interesting to see if anyone is planning to mix it up in the coming days.

Well here we are, yet again folding in the heat of summer, many of us will suffer and some will be pleased with their hired help, but no matter where you get your points it is welcomed with open arms.

In first place we have Shlouski with an impressive 58.6 million points, followed closely by Miker07 in second with 54,3 million point. I can already see the rivalry brewing between these turn time to fire up every fpu you've got and push hard for the title. Mxyzptlk is sitting in third place with a mighty good showing of 43.3 million points. Fourth place is taken by Justaphf, who will need to have a massive increase in production if they are looking to advance, taking that spot with 28.3 million points. Starman is up next in fifth place with 16.3 million points. Pezui, who thankfully didnt break the script this event is not far behind in 6th place with 15.5 million points. Favebook is as always chugging along with 13.4m points. CT854, the chinese tigre is giving it their all and is looking happy in his spot of 8th place. But he will have to keep a close eye on vstell who is only a couple hundred thousand points behind with 12.4. and finally we have MrFinn741 with a flat 12 million points.

As you can see it is exciting, we have 6 more days of points and six more chances for things to mix up, I wonder where they will all be when the bust settles, only time will tell.

Well here we are, it only seems like last week we were all gathered here for a folding event but it was in fact many months ago.

We have 56 people signed up for the first leg of this sprint and it will be interesting to see how many make it to the finish line.

So you may notice that I am not my usual self recently, unfortunately I have progressed to the point of needing regular high strength opiates to manage my condition, tramadol and morphine are certainly an interesting group of medication. So I will try my best to keep up with blogs and the event as a whole. We shall see how things work out.

As it is heating up we will see just who can take the heat, not including those using hired help of cause who simply bask not in the heat, but in their wealth instead.

I hope to see a good clean event, no foul play and finally lots of fun.

So here we are, the first day of results.

I'm not planning to write all that much for this small five day event but I just wanted to thank everyone who has come along. You are all awesome and should be proud of the time and dedication you put into the fold. I was planning to do this last night but I fell asleep at my desk. Which is why I'm awake at such an early time. Turns out the new meds really do make me drowsy(no alcohol required)!

Miker07 takes the lead with 36.1 million points, Den-Fi comes up in second with 25.2 million points and third place is Shouski with 21.4 million points. Gorgon is up next in fourth place with 18.5m points, Mxyzptlk is in fifth place with 15.9 million points and sixth place is occupied by Justaphf with 15.1 million points. LazyDev is in seventh place with 13.1m points, vsteel takes eight place with 10m, Baha is in ninth place with 8.9m and finally Favebook takes tenth place with 8.4m.

Ladles and Gentlespoons, it has to be said that quality has made up for quantity this year, we may be thin on the group but we have sure made up for that with the inane level of production we have seen during the third annual folding month. what this month lacks in surprises and excitement it made up for in sheer clout.

Before we get into the ranks and awards I want to give thanks, first of all I want to thank everyone who participated, no matter if you folded billions of points, or a handful of points, it truly is only a great event because all of you guys get involved.

I also want to thank the team behind the scenes, @leadeater deserves our thanks because he is the one who created the script that revolutionised the way in which we handle data, and it has continued to work without flaw during this event(Minus the human error at the start of the event). @marknd59 has been a massive help with validating the points for the daily updates ensuring we could be confident of the data we were publishing. @cbigfoot jumped in to help with points validation from time to time, especially after mark fell ill. @ssmmdd and @j1philli also helped with the event. I'm sorry if anyone from the events team has been missed.

Please can all make sure we donate a few dollars to Jason over at EOC, his servers must have taken a beating with all the traffic we have thrown at the guy over the last month or so. You can either use this PayPal link or find the PayPal donation button on the EOC Website on the left. Don't forget to include a note thanking him so he knows its from team LTT.  My personal go to is, 'From LTT with love' but you are free to write your own note.

This year has been stressful for many of us, with great amounts of uncertainty and anxiety. It can easily be said that for some of us this year has been the most difficult in living memory. We have lost jobs, savings, our homes and even our loved ones, but here, on this forum we stand together, we stand strong and united. We are just one team of many working together to seek out knowledge where there was only a void before. To further the understanding of human health, to maximise our comprehension of diseases. This is a noble task, and for that, I salute you all.

Now, it is time to get to what we have all waited for, THE RANKS!

In first place we have @Den-Fi, taking his throne for the second time. ALL HAIL THE KING! Sitting in what can only be called a very comfortable seat with 2,342,017,007 points he never really looked like loosing. Our previous best point total for any event was 886,386,763 points set during the last folding month. The most interesting point to make of his astounding victory is the fact that ran all of his hardware himself and didn't sport a single mercenary during the event.

In Second place we have @Macaw2000, the king of the mercenaries, he may have gain his position by the use of cloud computing but with 1,641,029,686 points we won't hold that against him. Our second person to have over one billion points for a folding event your name should be revered like royalty.

In third place we have @rodarkone, our third and final person to breach the one billion points barrier during folding month with 1,044,854,657 points to their name during this event has claimed this respectable position. Let your pride beam from you like the searing glow of a searchlight in the night.

4th place is filled by newbie @Unilevers with 941,856,695 points, this is still better than our historical best and a fine score to achieve during the event.

5th place is filled by @miker07with 845,682,351 points, down one position from last folding month.

    6th @Gorgonwith 843,750,865 points.

    7th @Shlouskiwith 657,555,359 points.

    8th @_Rlockewith 651,385,368 points.

    9th  @LAR_Systems with 542,632,893 points.

    10th @Justaphf with 521,033,918 points.

    Now onto the little announcements!

The first to come is the new higher folding badge thresholds, these new values have been decided due to the increase of power a GPU can provide; this has made it much easier to achieve badges in recent years. The new thresholds below will come into force on January 1st, 2021. Anyone holding a current badge will be grandfathered in! This means you won't have your badge downgraded after the new thresholds come into effect.

    The second announcement is the new rules for future events, these rules are still preliminary and we are awaiting final confirmation from the mod team. these rules are subject to change;

Failing to meet the minimum requirements.

    Publicly discussing the administration of the event;
If you have an issue with the way in which the event is being conducted please reach out to an appropriate member of the event team.

Signing up to the event with a folding identity that is believed to not be your own.

Signing up to the event with more than one folding identity.

    Conducting yourself in a manner that is believed to be not in the spirit of the event, this includes but not limited to the below;
purposefully only meeting the minimum requirements, acting to undermine the integrity of the event, to attempt to cause division within the community.

Breaking any one of these rules will result in a disqualification from the event. It is also important to know that there is no appeal process for disqualifications.

Shlouski reacted to GOTSpectrum for a blog entry, Day Twenty-Three - Reflection
Honestly there's not much to talk about here so I am going to forgo the usual rankings and take this blog post to instead talk about why we fold. As I am sure you all know the world is currently in the grips of a viral pandemic that spreads across all continents, and has touched every country. Now, in recent times it is this pandemic that has been taking a major part of the computational power of the network, but there is other research that is being done.

Causes like cancer for instance, where it is hoped that by gaining better ideas around the development of cancers could lead to better treatments. I haven't talked about this much on here but my step-mum was  diagnosed with breast cancer just before the event started and has recently undergone surgery. it is hoped that there will be little need for further high aggressive treatment but it could still be another week or two before we know what, if any further treatment is required.

So, as much as this is a competition, it is sometimes nice to look back, at everyone else on the team, and all the other teams; to realise that we are all working together, towards improving human knowledge, human understanding. I think it is easy to forget that some of the work we are doing is right on the bleeding edge of human medical research.

Make sure you all take a short time to just appreciate what it is you are actually doing, what you are contributing towards.

Please remember that this is a friendly event, but we are all folding away for Science, AND GLORY!

I'm really impressed with the numbers we are seeing here, Thank you to all who are involved and who make this worth while every year.

Remember we are a team first and individuals second, so give thanks where thanks is due and hit that reaction button when someone helps you out.

Be wary of the higher minimum participation requirements this year.
