  1. That's a good point, the 2400g looks pretty good. Do you think the 3400g would be worth the extra $20? My employer is actually paying for this so I'm just trying to use the whole budget. If I don't need to buy a GPU I can always spend that money on a bigger SSD or nicer case I guess =P
  2. I know the 2600 is overkill for that usage, but I have a $500 budget so I figured I would get the best CPU I could with what I had remaining after choosing all of the other components.
  3. I'm putting together a cheaper build centered around the Ryzen 5 2600 for office use/browsing/etc... Since the the 2600 doesn't have on-board graphics I need to get the cheapest card that will run 1 1080p monitor, no gaming or anything that will require any real power. The GT 1030 seems pricey to me at ~$85, but I've read some of Nvidia's older cards have compatibility issues with Windows 10. Any suggestions?

    Aux Splitter

Hello lovely people! I have a question that I hope has a simple answer... I'm looking at splitters like this one here and I know most people would use them to connect 2 sets of headphones to a phone/laptop. https://www.amazon.com/Belkin-Speaker-Headphone-Audio-Splitter/dp/B000067RC4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1503169717&sr=8-3&keywords=aux+splitter What I'm wondering is if I can use it in the opposite fashion and connect the male end of the splitter to a set of classroom speakers and then connect a desktop PC and an old VCR player (yes you read that right...VCR) so that they could both play audio (not at the same time) without having the teacher need to switch cables every time. I've read through reviews and questions on the amazon page and have gotten some conflicting information so I'm hoping someone here will be able to clear it up for me. Thanks in advance, the LTT community is awesome!

    Kitchen PC

Do you have to do anything else to setup the keyboard and mouse, or do you just pair it with the tablet like any other bluetooth device? I have a Nexus 7(2nd gen) that I've really only used as a viewing monitor for my DSLR, so I could definitely try that out.

    Kitchen PC

I haven't used Android that much so I'm not 100% sure on how a keyboard/mouse setup would work with it. I know you can connect a bluetooth keyboard but what about a mouse? I would also be worried about how a different resolution would look on a regular 1080p monitor, and lastly for the most part I can't stand mobile sites....*shudder* I said ALSO, it will primarily be used for recipes and such. I work during the night and sleep during the day so I don't get out to see movies much, so about once every week or two we watch a movie during a meal when I'm home but thanks for jumping to conclusions.

I thought of that as well, but I wanted the bigger screen because it will also be used to stream media through Netflix, Youtube, etc.... We have an island counter that we eat at which is a little too far away from a small screen like a tablet.

    Kitchen PC

I wanted to take the first step to bringing our kitchen into the 21st century by adding a snazzy Chrome OS based PC. I'm going to use a 21.5" LG monitor that is 75mm x 75mm vesa mountable, the Asus chromebox, and I'm looking for a monitor arm to mount it all underneath a kitchen cabinet. I'd like to have an articulating arm that allows us to reposition the screen around so that it can face different work surfaces in the kitchen and one that is also small enough to not be intrusive in a 29.5"(W) x 17.5"(H) area. I've been looking at a few arms but I haven't found any that look very good yet or that I feel would be small enough to not stick out a lot. Any suggestions? Here are the monitor and chromebox I am using: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005363 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220572
  10. Best android build quality by far, and Sense 6.0 really doesn't look too bad!
  11. What AP would you recommend from Ubiquiti to go with either the Edgemax or the EA4500?
  12. I'm looking to upgrade my router soon (Linksys EA4500), because any connection over wireless is pretty spotty, even when you're close to the router. I've been doing a little research already and I've narrowed it down to 3 choices so far. I could go with the new Asus AC1900 router when it come out, or the also just announced Linksys WRT1900AC. The last option would be to go with a commercial grade router like the Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC Enterprise System. I kind of like the idea of having an enterprise grade router but I don't know much about the routers and brands involved in that arena. Do you guys have any suggestions on other commercial grade routers or have experience with the Ubiquiti one? I just need something that's fast and wont constantly drop its wireless signal.
  13. I can't get into windows because my keyboard doesn't work to login.
  14. How do I install from the CD? When i boot using the disc that came with the mobo it takes me to a command prompt screen.
  15. Ok I have all the drivers loaded onto my flash drive, now how do i install them from the flash drive directly?
