Found my love for Pcs and stuff at the age of 12. I just love building PCs, it might be the only reason why I actually buy the components ;-P For me its all about the clear look of a Pc that shows the passion of its builder.

  1. Assembling time! Also started to make the PSU Shroud out of acrylic.
  2. Disssembled the case and started paining:
  3. In this build log, it's all about taking an old and ugly case and making it beautiful again! My name is Julian and I am living near Hanover, Germany. So let's start THIS is the case I am trying to refurbish: As far as I am concerned it is a Xigmatek 'Midgard'. Since the plastic at the front and on the top looks very 'used' I decided to paint it. It took not long for me to make the decision to paint the whole case for an entire new look. I am also planning to make some design changes before painting: - mounting options for 3 fans in the front - cover up the 5,25'' bays - custom PSU shroud - color will be a mix of different shades of blue and white And of course there will be a pc built in this case when it's finished which I will also show in this build log. and now it's time to begin...
  4. Here we go...my best pc (in terms of outer appearance ;)) for now:
  5. Thanks yeah I was thinking about this, because the red on the drives doesn't really fit in. However with the lights on it looks not that bad. Maybe I will add something th cover them up later. Final picures are coming...
  6. Finished! I will post some pictures at night with all the light and stuff later, for now it's configuring windows time ;-)
  7. So, all the parts are here now :0:) Managing all the cables took me about three hours but I think it came out pretty good. SsdS are going to be configured in raid 0, hdd will backup the array on a nightly basis ad also will be used to back up all the pcs in the network. As always enjoy the pictures ...
  8. I wanted all of the unused airvents covered up so that the air can only go through the system one way. ..also some painting again
  9. The case arrived ! I put the main components in and started cable management. View27 is awesome! Unfortunately I had to mount the radiator in front of the custom made I/o panel so it won't be seen.. at least I know it's there
  10. So here we go... I painted a lot of stuff today and everything will be ready when the case arrives. I also decided to paint the old air cooler, just for fun. Jbox will be the computers name on the network. Enjoy the pics..
