  1. Firefox is up to date on my laptop, and on my desktop (where it works) I use the ESR version, on laptop regular version.
  2. Im using Windows 10 with Firefox on both desktop and laptop but for some reason ads play on Youtube. I tried Ublock Origin and Adblock Ultimate (not enabled at the same time) and it doesn't work. Anyone knows why?
  3. The UV thing is a good idea I just don't know about the ozone.
  4. You know one of these machines that are handheld like the Hoover UltraVortex. https://www.allergyuk.org/our-services/allergyuk-products/hoover-ultramatt-ultra-vortex/ I see Jimmy (not sure if related to Xiaomi) has the BX7 Pro one with better specs (stronger suction, goes 60ºC) https://www.jimmy.eu/anti-mite-vacuums/121-bx7-pro-anti-mite-vacuum-cleaner.html but I would like to know if there are some alternatives. Im also not sure about the UV, I like the idea that this helps cleaning but since it may emit ozone I would need to know this was properly tested and ideally not made in China but I guess that's too much to ask nowadays geez. There's a guy on Amazon that said the UV isn't legit: Positive: - It has a very good suction power and display whether clean or dirty is nice (can't test if it's really good) - Easy to clean, I know completely different systems Negative: - It has NO UV light, only blue/purple. I have UV/UV-C test cards and they don't react to this light at all. My UV-C lamp, on the other hand, proves that the test cards work. Ergo -> NO UV light. - The cable sits very loosely in the suction cup and falls out easily. - It heats up, but it's never 60°C, I can easily put my hand under it without it being too hot Wouldn't buy it again So not sure what to buy, there isn't much competition in this niche. I already got a Miele C3 Allergy one which is nice but I would like to be able to deep clean my mattress.
  5. Anyone knows a free open source software that allows you to set reminders? For instance, on 25/09/2022 show up an alarm with a message: "Do X task" For Windows 10. I have LTSC Enterprise 1890 so it's unbloated and doesn't include any software to do this.
  6. Im ok with 15" since it's more portable, the thing is, I would need to see more reviews, see how noisy and hot when running stuff and so on.
  7. How long would it be reasonable for that to wait?
  8. This one. My laptop is like 12 years old, it's an Asus N53SV. I would like to be able to do video editing, 3d animation, and play some Quake on the go. I feel like this is perfect, finally a good screen. The problem is, I don't want to be an early adopter of this tech and find out a year from now there's a dead pixel in there. Have they tested this enough?
  9. By any chance do you know if this chipset supports 8GB ram sticks? It says on CPU-Z: Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer Inc. Model: N53SV Bus Specs: PCI-Express 2.0 (5.0 GT/s) Chipset: Intel Sandy Bridge Rev. 09 Southbridge: Intel HM65 Rev. 05 BIOS American Megatrends Inc. Version: N53SV.212 Date: 04/07/2011 Im just wondering if this could officially support 8GB just like the quad core version of this laptop support 32GB but officially only 16
  10. I don't see it, also here it says 2 slots: https://www.offtek.co.uk/asus/laptop-memory-upgrades/n-series/n50-notebook-series/n53sv-dual-core-2-slots-ram
  11. Do you have any idea if this could support 16GB of ram by using 2 sticks of 8GB of ram? or im limited to 8GB (4GB per stick?) The CPU is an i5 Here it says it's 8GB: https://www.offtek.co.uk/asus/laptop-memory-upgrades/n-series/n50-notebook-series/n53sv-dual-core-2-slots-ram But I saw this video See description: "Also this model supports up to 32GB of RAM, not 16GB like is mentioned in specs." So now im curious if this will be the same with my laptop, that it will support 16GB and not 8
  12. Amazing, all this time I thought this laptop had 4 slots. so I buy 2 8GB sticks I guess. I've seen it can unofficially support 32GB but im not gonna gamble.
  13. I was looking to upgrade the ram on my laptop and I opened it and im confused I see it says it has 4 slots but I only see 2 white socket things to put in the sticks: I don't understand. How many should I buy if I want to max out? It's an asus n53sv If I buy 2 8GB sticks, how do I place them for dual channel? do I remove the old one?
  14. Are ther are any tips to follow to make the battery life last longer? like not plugin it into the charger unless you need it? or something like that. Also, in case of explosion, what type of explosion would it be? it's a 4400mah battery.
  15. Well thing is I cannot find the original so it's either chinese or no battery.
  16. I was looking for some original battery replacement for an asus n53sv but since I can't find it I went to Amazon and there's chinese alternatives like "Ninjabatt" and others. On the manual it says to use only original batteries, but I can't find the a32-n61 battery original model. Im just now wondering if there is a real risk of explosion or something insane ot happen? im going to be paranoid it explodes. In here they say it has certifications which should have at least some guarantees it is a decent product? https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B01AS33CQM/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A31GE0Z9CY4YIS&psc=1
  17. There's some real cheap ones in ebay and aliexpress that look like generic built ones but im paranoid they have some preinstalled rootkits on it or something https://www.ebay.com/itm/134194849945?hash=item1f3ea2e899:g:Z9AAAOSwCF1i8mpA
  18. Anyone knows by any chance which one should I buy? I've read some laptops are bios locked for the wifi card or something like that and im not sure if I can still buy the stock one. There's some real cheap ones in ebay and aliexpress that look like generic built ones but im paranoid they have some preinstalled rootkits on it or something https://www.ebay.com/itm/134194849945?hash=item1f3ea2e899:g:Z9AAAOSwCF1i8mpA This looks legit?
  19. Right so basicially you are saying I need to find the exact model for the wifi card as the stock one? how tho? I think its discontinued.
  20. I've got an Asus N53SV laptop, anyone could recommend an SSD that will fit in and a wifi card to replace the busted default one? I have never opened a laptop so I don't know what im doing. Do I just remove the HDD and there will be a slot on the same place for SSDs? I need like an 500GB one and a decent wifi card. I would also like a battery, but I see all these 3rd party ones, probably chinese, which one could I buy? I would also like to max out on RAM. There's 2 4GB sticks installed, there's space for 4GB, maximun 16GB. So im confused. What do I do to run in dual channel? Should I remove the 2 existing sticks and buy 4 4GB sticks that are the same (or 2 8GB sticks)? What is the best setup? I was thinking of this one: https://www.amazon.es/Crucial-CT102464BF160B-Memoria-PC3L-12800-204-Pin/dp/B006YG8X9Y Thanks.
  21. It happens with all pics, looks like there's a max zoom value and for small images it doesn't go big enough.
  22. Look at the pic, all of the images remain small.
  23. Im considering buying the Temtop LKC-1000S + 2nd to monitor temperature, humidity and particles. Any engineers or something that have tested it against the really expensive ones? Here it says it tested decently but it was the 1st generation one https://smartairfilters.com/en/blog/best-pm2-5-air-quality-monitors-in-2022/ Usually you would think the 2nd generation one is better but you never know.
