  1. these peripherals look gorgeous. i want them all :<
  2. Now that the 980 Ti is coming out, which config is better? A single 980 Ti is estimated to be $650~, while dual 970 would cost almost the same ($330 x 2 = $660). Give me some arguments other than 1) Single higher tier GPU > Dual lower tier GPU; and 2) SLI has more power consumption. Thanks!
  3. Fiio E10K [http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LP3AMC2/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2I2ABOTKB8VI3]
  4. If I have an external DAC/AMP combo already, should I get a passive speaker? From what I have researched, active speakers are better than passive speakers. "Active monitors have their amplifiers built in. This presents a few benefits, such as not having to deal with extra rack gear and knowing that the internal amplifier is specifically matched to that speaker for the best sonic performance." [http://www.sweetwater.com/insync/studio-monitors-buying-guide/#active_passive] However, if i buy an active speaker instead, and at the same time I want to avoid plugging it directly into my motherboard's onboard soundcard, is it OK to plug it into the external DAC/AMP combo? Will the amplifier from the DAC/AMP combo + amplifier from the active speakers have an effect on the quality of the sound?
  5. Just wanted to know why did Linus go with a Z97-C at $130 in the "Value Gaming Build Guide" [http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/281756-ultimate-value-gaming-build-guide/] and yet he went with a Z87-A at $90 in the "Game On ~$1700 System Holiday Buyer's Guide" [http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/250410-holiday-2014-buyers-guide-full-component-list/]. I've checked both at Asus' website and they have very, very similar specs. Z97-C [http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97C/specifications/] Z87-A [http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z87A/specifications/] My confusion here is that Linus went with a relatively more expensive Motherboard in a Value build, but he chose a relatively cheaper Motherboard in a ~$1700 Build. Am I overlooking some relevant difference between the two Motherboards that I didn't notice?
  6. Is it really necessary for the "Game On" to go with dual GTX 970? If I were to go with a single GTX 970, will the extra saving I get worth the decrease in performance?
  7. can you add in the FAQ the difference between monitor headphones, reference headphones and Hi-Fi headphones? These terms are used all over the place and it can be quite confusing for people trying to buy a good pair of headphones.
  8. Sennheiser OCX 686G or the JayBird BlueBuds X?
  9. I plan on getting two 4K monitors. One of which will be used for gaming. Linus went with a 4690k for the $2000-ish rig on the Holiday Buyer's Guide 2014. He said it was the best option if it was mostly used for gaming, which I am. [ However, Linus went with a i7-4930k for the ULTIMATE 4K Gaming PC Build Guide. [ Also, Linus went with a FX-6350 for the 4K Gaming PC for Under $1000. [https://youtu.be/j4xDfEOGONw?t=2m37s] Again, I am NOT planning on gaming on both 4K monitors (that will be weird anyways to have a black frame in the middle). I am only gaming on ONE of them. The reason why I want 2 4K monitors is that I will like to be able to enjoy things outside of gaming(such as web browsing, social media, etc) in 4K resolution AND in both monitors. I feel like the FX-6350 will bottleneck TWO 4K monitors, while the i7-4930k is a little bit too much for my budget. Thus leading to my conclusion that the i5-4690k would be the sweet spot for my purpose: enjoy contents in two 4K monitors, and heavy gaming on one of them. Please feel free to correct my conclusion.
  10. Which GPU would you guys recommend me getting? Also, would I have to upgrade my PSU for higher watts?
  11. Hi guys, I currently have dual 1080p monitor setup. My specs are FX-6300 OC @3.7GHz, M5A97 R2.0, 1 x Vengeance 8GB RAM, ASUS GTX 750Ti @stock clock speed, and a CX600. I was wondering if my current specs are powerful enough to get a third 1080p monitor and then use NVIDIA's Surround PhysX for the surround setup.
