  1. Hello! I am replacing my mobo from a z87 to a z97 I have Windows 7 installed on my SSD and all my my games, music, movies etc on platters. I am going to attempt to not reinstall windows. However, if I end up doing a clean install of windows on the SSD will I have to format the platters?
  2. So if go with an i3 4160 and appropriate intel 1150 H97 motherboard, my plan to go without a GPU is solid?
  3. I am looking to build a pc for my 10 year old daughter. Right now she plays Minecraft and browses browses YouTube (she also plays wii and 3ds with pokemon and zelda games). My intent is to build her a new PC that she can use right now as she does with our old 2010 desktop and if she starts playing higher end games, drop in a reasonable graphics card (GTX 660 or R9 270). Will this PC run Minecraft effectivly. 4. Does your case have a slight positive pressure?
  5. I ordered this very processor from amazon last night for $229 US. I called amazon and they refunded me the $40 difference. Amazon rocks!
  6. Thanks! I should include that that my GPU is a EVGA 770 and my mobo is an AsRock Z87 Extreme4.
  7. I am looking to add some additional fans to my new build. Specifically I am looking to add a 140mm intake fan on the side panel and a 200mm exhaust fan on top of the case. I am reading several places online that not all fans fit the case. Is this true? Owners, what brands of fans fit this case? Thanks in advance!
  8. Well. all parts ordered. Thanks for the help everyone. Here is the updated list. I will post my build process in the appropriate forum when I get that done. 9. Thanks so much for the suggestions so far! One question though. I notice that both of you have recommended Gigabyte mobos and GPU's is the same manufacturer important for mobo and GPU?
  10. Could you please elaborate on the whys of your suggestions?
  11. Hello! I am planning on building my first gaming PC. My intent is to be able to play most of the current generation games at max or near max settings. My max price is $1500 U.S. for everything I need. I have some nice headphones and nice gaming mouse and a copy of Windows 7 home premium already from my bootcamped Macbook Pro (Don't hate, it was a gift). After some reasearch this is the build I came up with. I dont plan to overclock initially but I wanted the option for the future. Any advice and critique is greatly appreciated. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/tim.a.marshall/saved/4hsn
