The accurate translation of what they wrote about the monitor at that danish page.
The screen is based on a TN panel, which is not suitable for image and video editing, but instead helps to keep costs down and ensure a fast response time of 1 ms. Viewing angles on the other hand are limited to 170/160 degrees and a color reproduction of only 6-bit + FRC (Update: Samsung says that the panel is 8-bit + FRC). The contrast ratio is 1000:1. The monitor can be connected to a PC via HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort, but requires DisplayPort to run 4K at 60 Hz (HDMI doing only 30 Hz).
Samsung UD590 is coming to Northern Europe in spring with a suggested price of 4500 DKK (aprox. 820$). Samsung Nordic makes no mention of the better UD970 with PLS panel, so we expect that it’ll be announced later this year.
