does anyone know how to up the driver without making the performance worse than igpu? no dx11 support through steam is why i need update.(well technically too early vulkan version in driver if any so dxvk won't work) on driver 390 minecraft does 100+ fps 30 fps max on igpu same settings. on driver 5xx minecraft does maybe 14fps. (yes these are high 1080p settings) these are the drivers the nvidia card does well with. warframe won't boot cause too early version tho. im on endevour os. Oddly driver 470 works too but still no warframe support.

Specs 8086k Gtx 1070ti 8gb ram. Problem: the text in the steam vr menus are tiny and blurry on my desktop/not in vr. Ive tried resolution changes. Nothing helps. Also sometimes i get ghost windows when trying to run vr. (Coose something it shows as if open). I do not know why this is. These usually lead to system wide freezes

P104-100 user here on endevour os. Mine works but driver 390 or performance suffers bad (worse than igpu almost) am using optimus switcher. Seams more stable than prime on ubuntu(what i swapped over from) my heaven bench score is over 2k in extreme with 390 under 500 bench score with newest. Let me know if a diffrent switcher works and will try it

I'd recommend using a more modern version of the patch and driver but the part with regedit (the mshybrid=1 thing) and adapter type change was nessesary to get the card to work on my system. Good luck. https://youtu.be/Jv8JhR3gkyU?feature=shared

Yes i have. I can get picture inside the steam vr void, and see my desktop but games wont natively rum on the headset. They simply get stuck at "up next" and show on desktop instead. Mostly was just cueious if this would work.

I don't understand. My setup is a desktop that has a vga and an hdmi port. I use a vga for my monitor and an hdmi for my headset. Both use the igpu. But no games will render on headset. I was mostly curious if this was even possible to play on an igpu. No nvidia card or amd or arc in the system.

I tried this. Game only renders on the desktop not in the headset. I was able to pull up the desktop inside the headset and see beatsaber opened, but not interact(it treats my vr headset like a mouse) i wouldnt mind low resolution. And slow gameplay. Headsets a vive.

Windows method: ddu the driver. Make sure you change the adapter properties in regedit, and to enablemshybrid=1 and the adapter type to i think 4. Replace Add the dartiden patch to the corresponding normal driver. (Ex: 531 to 531) use the have disk method to install the driver. Make sure you go into graphics settings to set spasific programs for the nvidia card. I think a custom ver of control pannel is needed. Its also possible windows simply banned the cirtificate and you need a diffrent version of the driver. Good luck. Turn off wifi while installing. @VersusID Has some good tutorials windows p106 installing. ________________ You could try the ubuntu linux method. Tested on 22.04 not minimum install. Make sure prime is installed. Install ubuntu like normal. Run sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa && sudo apt-get update Then Ubuntu-drivers-devices It should list the avalable nvidia drivers. Choose the oldest (newest lowers performance a lot) Sudo apt install Nvidia-driver-390 && sudo apt install nvidia prime Once this finishes restart the pc. Press ctrl + alt + t and run "prime-select query" it should be on nvidia or on-demand. If ondemand you need to run "env nv_prime_render_offload=1 in terminal before running things to specift gpu. If you wanna try full nvidia try "sudo prime-select nvidia. Wait for that to finish. Restart. install "proton-ge" and enable "proton for all titles" in steam. Dxvk should let you run direct x games via vulkan. Or you could try wine. If you add windows stuff as non steam games and right click this method works.

Ubuntu 16.04 error here. Minecraft doesnt work on 22.04 install on other drie with my setup so ive kept this install where it did around. I have a p104 setup so minecraft is hard to run. On non intel card. When im booting during the part where it goes from terminal to login screen i recieve the error "cannot activate usb port is it bad?" even hitting "f2" for a new terminal it follows me the error message does. How do i make it ignore this error and boot? 22.04 sees this error too cause i indeed do hsve a broken port case usb but it refuses to get past it. It used to ignore it then stopped. The error endlessly scrolls across the screen.

Afterburner didn't work for me on windows. Got weird errors. Do u know another tool for overclock on windows of thr p104? Only know gwe on linux. And in general whats concidered a wont make the gpu die a lot faster overclock?

whats a good overclock that won't kill the gpu? bwdoew tw update i could only edit one of these stats video and memory can be changed too.. i think

I have not gotten mine running at 3.0 just 8gb bios was enabled. Ill check those threads, and see. From what i hear pci just makes the card 10% worse but i may be wrong. I assume you use windows, does it have an overclocking thing like gwe? thats the closest youll get to getting more out of the card without getting pci to work

It actually got a higher score in heaven benchmark than a p106 for me. Its slightly better. Also the extra 2gb vram mKes a diffeence

Actually my p104 i got pre bios modded to 8gb. I got 2 p102's(the 1080 mining version) One came with a bad bios. The other worked fine but was only 5gb vram cause half the card was locked. I tried to mod it after id stupidly tried to repaste it not realising i lost a screw of the 4 on the back and this killed the good card. The other i thought i could fix in nvflash when the seller "didnt know what was wrong" so i figured bad flash and knowing of nvflash i thought itd be an easy fix. But i could never fix it. Feel free to massage me if anything goes wrong with linux version. Also remember. Do not believe yhe warnings! They tell you "a logoff will make new driver work" but a restart works much better also. Before u restsrt always install nvidia prrime and run sudo "prime-select nvidia" or sudo "prime select ondemand(aka must tell it to use nvidia)" in some cases prime select mvidia can black screen you. If this happens after your grub, hit "ctrl atl f2" for a tty terminal. Then run "sudo prime-select query" to varify nvidia mode blackscreened you. "sudo prime select on-demand && sudo reboot" then type pass. And do "install nvidia xserver settings" or similar. And u should see in about pc "nvidia p104-1]]/sse2" or similar if in nvidia mode. Do sudo prime-select query in os to make zure after. If in ondemand theres a spasific command u have to run in terminal with app name to make it use the nvidia card. Not ideal but it works.

Would u like to know the linux setup i use to try it? I posted it earlier in this form. Can message me if need be. Personally i recommend ubuntu unity flavor but thats prefrence. July 20 somethingth page 58 of this form i explained. No driver mods needed. If u need to make biotable usb id recommend rufus(win only) or blanca etcher(lin or win) no expirence with egpu also sorry... I noticed that i wrote it backwards. In windows only phys x foesn't work. a few things. with p104 seams making it a 1070ti you gain phys x but lose vulkan and raytreace on windows... mine looks like this and yours could be a visual glitch. in linux mine runs as x4 not x1... (2nd screen shot) same gpu diffrent os. also i did enable ms hybrid =1 in windows regedit niot doing so locks the opengl of my p104 to version 1.1. using dartriden patch and xversus's enable ms hybrid registry edits. but it is weird, cause for mine you'll need to add every part of a launch file (ex: minecraft needs the launcher java and some stuff added to use the p104) via graphics settings, where as some people ive seen it auto uses it. stuff like heaven bench will fail/ iuse igpu cause new windows spawned don't inharit the use this gpu even if changed to prefirred in control pannel. but it does work. edit: intresting just noticed you have 4gb bios version, that could explain the physx diffrendce and vulkan. speed could be an os diffrence tho. idk if thishelps but straight from the nvidia driver itself (well nvidia xserver settings but still) the actual speed details sorry it double posted due to slow wifi

I noticed you mentioned nvflash and seam to know it fairlt well. I flashed a xard with a bad bios and the "lspci" command and "device manager" see my p102-100, but the bad flash causes the linux to not use it to avoid crashing, and the windows drive will only boot with the driver not enabled. So i think its a bad flash. I got this card a while back non working. This card the fans spin at full speed. My other p102 card worked fine but had a loose screw(didnt notice) and crashed while using nvflash and no longer is detected by even lspci but the fans spin Is there anything i can do to recover either one? This card oddly enough seams to have some form of fan control(not ful speed) for some reason.

i did some research, and it seams my pannel may of been falsely advertised as 120hz even tho it said 120 on the box.. so driver is possibly working fine after all. on linux: standard nvidia driver on windowss: intel driver and modded p106 driver

Ive tried the hdmi that came with a ps5 and a "4k spasific hdmi". All still cap at 60. 8086k igpu alongside a p104-100 gpu. 8gb ram. Z390 taichi ultimate. ( my pc will power cycle loop if i use other ram slots. All other ram slots died. So i can only go 8gb for now). So how do i get 1080p anything over 60? Ive finally found "newer cords" to try. Ad its still not doing anything. my monitor is a tcl 120hz capable pannel. Even in windows. Same issue. It wont go over 60.

I didn't know a cable could effect refresh rate capabilities, i play at 1080p, and when i went to the asrock website the 1.4 hdmi info wasn't listed. Just display port 1.2 Vary good to know. Thanks. My pannel is supposedly 4k 120hz capable. Only specified that to empathise the 1080 id vary likely 120hz capable. Thanks.

I've got a p106/igpu setup and i know nvidia card enabled or not, i can't go over 60 hz on windows or linux. My monitor is supposedly able to support 4k and 120hz... but i just wanna try high refresh 1080p. Ive seen people with uhd 630 graphics get over 60 at 1080p, so i know its possible. Is there something im doing wrong? Z390 motherboard and generic hdmi cable.

Wait youre using an intel uhd 630 gpu too? How are u able to get over 60 hz? Mine won't do it. Also using an hdmi, p104-100 card, and a 8086k with 630 uhd graphics. I tried linux and windows no over 60 even at 1080p. As for your situation, the p106's refresh rate is igpu bound(of your igpu doesnt support 120+ hz your p106 will not). So u can't.
