ScumbagScrattle's Achievements

  1. Now I was wondering weather I should go with the sleek bamboo, industrial design crossed with nature look for my favorite products but then it struck me no. Though I do find this extremely satisfying to look at and I can imagine even more satisfying for other to admire whilst it's blasting some sweet tunes from the undertale OST into your ears I'm actually gonna have to go with the keyboard. Why? Simple. Because, though good quality industrial design crossed with the simplistic culture that is Japan is hard to come by, even hard nowadays it is to come by a nice looking keyboard. When I say nice looking I'm not referring to super ultra bright RGB led's, I'm not referring to huge gamer logos and bright orange, green and red colors all over the keyboard describing how much of an mlg no-scoper I am. No I'm looking for just raw power in it's most elegant simplistic form. Nothing looks sexier than a car with raw power put into a sleek simplistic industrial look. Only the consumer and mind in need to prove themselves to other need to have MLG written across the side of it, and have it change colors and do weird effects when a button is pressed. No this is for the consumer that understands what true quality is and knows that the best way to wield that raw performance and power is the simplest most elegant and sturdy way possible. It's the aston martin of cars if you will. It's got class and style, yet pack a punch beneath the surface. That's why I'll have to say that the keyboard is my favorite of the lot. It doesn't cater to the simple minded.
  2. I'd use it to create more videos... I've made over 550 videos on my 3770K and could use an upgrade with 1080p60fps being the new "thing" on youtube. It would save me a looooot of time! Merry christmas
  3. Denmark, I don't care how much I have to spend as long as I can record 1080P 60 FPS. Basically I need to know what to upgrade and to what in order to make my PC able to record at 1080P 60fps. Then if people are super nice I would like a good secondary monitor recommended pref 27" or 24"; and a powersupply that's quiet.
  4. Why hello there My name is Stefan and my mom tells me I'm a special snow-flake so I do youtubing since I'm apparently special. Sounded way more degrading when my teacher called me the same thing and put me in a special class though... anywho. Enough about me. Current Hardware Motherboard - Asus ROG maximus V gene CPU - i7 3770K CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i GPU - MSI GTX 680 Hawk not-oc'd GPU Cooler - Kraken g10 w/ antec kühler 920 RAM - Samsung Green Series 8gb kit @1866mhz PowerSupply - Corsair TX750W Case - Corsair obsidian 350D Webcam - Logitech C920 Storage - Kingston hyperX 120GB SSD - WD black 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 3TB - 2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB Monitors - LG Flatron W2363D (Main monitor) - Samsung Syncmaster 226BW (Second Monitor) Peripherals Keyboard - Logitech G710+ Mouse - Logitech G700 SkypeHeadset - Logitech G35 GamingHeadset- AudioTechnica m50s MIC - Blue Yeti Recording Softwares For the face my mom says is too stupid to show in public - Logitech webcam software "Quick capture" function and then I use handbrake to make it convert it to a constant framerate afterwards losing some quality as well as my cpu hitting 100% load reaching 100 degrees celcius. Guess I gotta change my thermal paste or somethin'. Fuckin' ivy bridge. For the voice feared by every teacher in a tri-city area - Audacity 48khz Game capture - OBS 1080P 15k bitrate, fast preset, 30 fps, game capture What do I wanna achieve with an upgrade Basically I wanna upgrade my content now that youtube allows 60fps, which means I wanna aim for 1080P 60FPS recordings. Not in games like assassins creed unity since I can't afford NASA (#shrekt ubisoft), but in games you see on youtube. The usual new horror game, and the occasional new title. I'm not sure if OBS is the best software. I own a liscense to fraps but it just seems like OBS is the best software to capture gameplay ATM plus I know it like the hand of my back. I'm currently using game capture and would like to be able to use a fast preset 1080P 60FPS 15k bitrate or maybe 20K although I doubt it's gonna make big of a difference. I'm looking into getting a better camera to record my face to take some load away from my the hard-drive that I record to as well getting stable FPS instead of having to deal with the c920 recording at 29.97 FPS 'causing audio d-sync since it's not constant at all -> I have to conform it to a constant frame-rate which means using handbrake which means a loss in quality as well as 100% load on cpu since it's just a meatgrinder apparently which means temps around 100 degrees celcius. aaaand I really like 60FPS cam quality as well. Makes it look way more real, way smoother and it feels way better to watch a real person in 60fps. Way more silent PSU. The current one I have is by far the loudest part in my PC and I can't do shit about it's speed. What do I want upgraded? IE what parts do I think I need to upgrade CPU - I guess I need a cpu upgrade to record using a .264 encoding with OBS. I just don't see much gain in cpu actual performance when I look at reviews but if you guys think this'll do the trick then wohoo RAM - When editing rendering and recording I often go to 80%-100% ram usage Webcam - Upgrade to a cheap 1080P 60fps recorder. I have a lot of light so I guess it doesn't have to be the best camcorder. But if you guys can recommend me a good camcorder with those specs for a low price that'd be swell. PSU. Possibly to the ax 860 or something. Let me know what you think On a side note I'd like to upgrade my secondary monitor to a full hd one maybe even 2 full hd monitors for a full surround. so if you can recommend a good secondary full hd monitor for browsing, having a stream on and what not let me know about that as well I don't know if I need broadwell, if I need ddr4, or just to set up my shit right... but if you guys could help me out that'd be awesome. I have made 561 edited videos with commentary so far and I'm just getting tired of having to go through handbrake to get a constant webcam framerate, having low cam quality, not being able to record with the best quality youtube allows me to. I need it fixed. When I spent this amount of time editing and recording I want my gear to freakin' work!
  5. Yo. "Master of Azeroth" here or as my mother calls me "That creepy kid in my basement" First of all thank you for doing all these cool events. Been following you Linus since the good old ncix days. Couldn't be happier with the Linus group. Can't wait to watch the stream ! Cheers from Denmark So some topics and or questions... When designing the new intel processors what are your thoughts on optimization for video games. Realizing most of the viewers are prolly just video gamers I figured it'd be interesting to get intels point of view on this topic. Considering most gaming, game recording and so on is moving away from the cpu and utilizing the gpu better it'd be interesting to hear if intel is gonna move focus away from targeted for gamers marketing or keep their head in the "game" so to say even though it's pretty much all on gpu's now. These "custom-socket" thingamajigs we see on fx asus boards... yay or nay. What is your opinion on these custom sockets. and is it worth it in your words? Facing that most on these forums and prolly in the stream are gamers. Do you think your new chips are worth the upgrade for gamers from let's say... well I guess actually all the way back to 3xxx series (maybe even further). I don't really see games out there needing any more since it's more on the GPU. Explain some of the improvements gamers can see and why they should upgrade to these faster more efficient chips and new architecture. At the intel office. What motherboard manifacture do you guys say your prayers to? I realize not all use the same brand, but what is to your experience the best brand with the least issues with your chips? and you know... it's my birthday this saturday. Turning 20 and all... you know ^^ I'd put it to good use. Just left UNI to try for a year to make youtube become a thing in my life. Made over 500 vids so I'd put that processer to good use ^^ Then I have a question that I'd just want answered since I've talked to both intel and asus (my mobo brand) and I cant seem to figure it out. I've created over 500 youtube vids and I livestream. Whenever I record or put my computer under load my audio start crackling. Popping and clicking. Wont go away unless I restart my PC. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is and you guys had no idea when I asked you at Dreamhack. 6. That was a pretty definitive answer. I'll look into that. I'll be sooo happy if I could get more suggestions. I like reading n stuff so yeah. Let me know what I should read up on... like g.skill or corsair or something else entirely what gpus what capture cards. anything really you'd upgrade for the purpose
  7. Birthday #HYPE Since it's my birthday aka The Fappening is happening >_> I've been asked to make a list of my wishes... Which is ofc gonna be used on hardware upgrade Current Hardware Motherboard - Asus ROG maximus V gene CPU - i7 3770K CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i GPU - MSI GTX 680 Hawk RAM - Samsung Green Series 8gb kit @1866mhz PowerSupply - Corsair TX750W Case - Corsair obsidian 350D Webcam - Logitech C920 Storage - Kingston hyperX 120GB SSD - WD black 1TB - Seagate Barracuda 3TB - 2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB Monitors - LG Flatron W2363D (Main monitor) - Samsung Syncmaster 226BW (Second Monitor) Peripherals Keyboard - Logitech G710+ Mouse - Logitech G700 SkypeHeadset - Logitech G35 GamingHeadset- AudioTechnica m50s MIC - Blue Yeti Computer Usage For everyday use I make videos for my youtube channel... I do that quite a lot. I just passed 500 videos #HYPE. Furthermore I livestream a large variety of games but mainly League of Legends. The games I play for my youtube channel do however vary from simple flash games to heavier games such as Bioshock Infinite, battlefield, Titanfall plus many newer titles... Furthermore I record my cam with a face... oh no wait the other way around. My face with a cam (the c920) and my voice with the blue yeti. I then export my videos as well in heavy editing software that takes up quite a bit of ram and cpu power but you prolly know what I'm talking about... oh and RAM previewing takes up ... did ya guess it? If you said virgins you're wrong... RAM would be your answer. My experience with my system as it currently is ATM it's actually pretty smooth I guess for what I use it for. I get some audio trouble when I have my webcam at full HD though. I get some pops and crackles with both USB and jack headphones on. Figured it's the motherboard capping out here. My GPU reach 100% load at times when I record like bioshock Infinite or titanfall and get's pretty hot. The recording is still smooth and all, but it runs hot -> higher fan speeds -> noise I have to filter out in my editing phase which is just annoying in general to listen to for me as well. At times I cap my 8 gigs of RAM when I'm recording or streaming with like... chrome taps open at the same time; and I definitely cap them out when I edit and do Ram Previews and it would just be a nice upgrade for my rendering times. TL:DR Should I wait with the upgrade to ddr4, gtx 8xx and intel 5xxx series or is there anything you could see me upgrade? As I can see it I have the following options Upgrade my GPU by getting a 780TI or an extra gtx 680 Maybe a capture card if someone can recommend me a good one to use Getting a motherboard that can handle my stuff MORE MOOOOORE MOOOOOOOOORE RAM *zoidberg voice* Maybe a cam corder since my c920 bug out sooooooo much and it would take some strain off of my computer WHAT CAN MAKE MY PC BETTER FOR MY USE?? //Peace out /Scrattle
  8. To quote the highest of all ratings a nerd can give a product..... I want one. I like the Z2 since it's waterproof and I'm a highly skilled sailor, sailing extremely fast boats where you get EXTREMELY wet such as hobie cats and 49'ers. I like the skin since it's very clean and neat looking but still says a lot! That's a hard combo to get something to say this product is bad a** and tough but saying that without flashing lights and 10000 colors and patterns.
  9. The thing is I'm not gonna walk around with is. And the nx1100 will be far superior when it's on a tripod in a well lit "studio".
  10. I wanna do it as movie like as possible. Meaning my face being in focus ( only having the main focus in focus ). I'll gladly spend a decade to learn how to use it if that's needed. I'm aiming to do this full time. I do how-ever don't have that much to kick this off since it's sorta secondary to my gaming and streaming right now, so that's why I have the low budget. It's just hard to find recordings of the nx1100 to see if that'll give me what I need. again thank you for the quick replies
  11. Hey guys So I've been doing a bunch of vlogging, gameplay recording and so on... and so on. So I think it's about time I join the fast lane that is "talking in front of a camera". After looking into a bunch of camcorders and thought it to be medi-ocre quality I looked up what camcorders my fav youtubers use. Turns out they all use dslr such as the 600D. I then found that the samsung nx1100 seemed to fulfill my requirements which is 1080P at 30 fps (or higher!) that will be used to shoot those standard talking / doing challenges in front of a camera. It means it will be a well lit environment I'll be working in as I have a bunch of lights in my "studio". This camera is around 350 USD as this camera costs where I live (Denmark). If you know a camera that will be better for my needs and have similar or better quality that would be amazing. Features I see the nx1100 lacking that I'd be happy to have is a screen that flips so I can actually see my self; an optical viewfinder if it's a dslr as that's just better IMO. Anyway. I think I painted a quite good picture of what I need. So if you know just the camera for me (maybe at a lower price ) that'd be greatly appreciated! So far I think I'll be recording audio on my blue yeti USB mic on a laptop and then syncing it up later. Basically I'm aiming for the quality a 600D can delivier or similar. Like you'll see Marcus butler, Zoe sugg, Joe sugg and so on have in their vids.
  12. I'd still be really grateful if anyone have any input after a while of resting and thinking. I've kept running the tests I've been ablo to find and the tests that people throw at me and it all seems fine. But when recording i get the microstuttering -.- I play games from a wd 1tb BLACK. and record it onto a seagate barracuda 3tb. Could it just be because my gtx 680 isn't fast enough to render the game and record?
  13. You've been a great help. We must be getting closer to isolate the problem. I'll check up on all softwares n such. Just weird if it would be a bad driver or connection when I score avg+ with my rig in 3dmark n such.
