    It should be just fine. If you want to be extra sure then just put the system under a heavy load and see if it is stable, which it should be. That extra connector is only really needed for extreme overclocking of the higher-end chips.

    The extra 8 pin is a completely useless addition outside of LN2 extreme overclocking and top end HEDT CPUs
     
    A single 4+4 pin can do 384w om its minimum spec. You will kill the CPU and VRM before reaching those levels of powerdraw.
     
    The extra 4 or extra 4+4 pin is there purely for marketing purposes.
