  1. Why did he pronounce Elon's platform as 'ex'? It's clearly meant to be 'cross'
  2. I'm curious about Windows 10 compatibility. The Windows 10 touch experience is decades ahead of Windows 11's.
  3. That didn't work. What did end up working was taking the card out and putting it in again.
  4. I just upgraded from a GTX 1650 to an RTX A2000 this afternoon and the first thing I did was render a practice model I'd made in Blender. At first it was zooming and doing 5 minute tasks in 2 minutes, but then I started getting the same performance I used to have. I look in GPU-Z and I see that the clockspeed keeps hovering around 500 MHz despite the temps being around 64 C. Increasing the fan speed in MSI Afterburner reduced that temperature to 54 C and it still keeps hanging around 500MHz I updated the driver to 511.79 and still having the issue. Tried both Optix and Cuda in Blender. Blender version is 3.01 MB: Gigabyte Aorus B550i RAM: 16GB 3200MHz CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G Update: I tried disabling the iGPU and nothing changed. I also tried booting up SWTOR (only PC game I have installed) and I was greeted to 4K 13FPS Alderaan (Significantly less than the 4K 30-60FPS I was getting on the GTX 1650
  5. Does anyone know which game is being played at 26:23?
  6. As an affectionate type who uses kissing as a casual greeting, I feel like I just got banned from a place I've never been to.
  7. I'm curious about this too. My current GPU doesn't have display port so I'm forced to use HDMI 2.0 and miss out on 10bit color on my Ultrafine monitor. Been considering a new build next year, but I thought I might pick up a Ryzen 5700G and use the motherboard display out until I have the rest of the new build figured out. I noticed that when I connect the monitor to the USB C port on my motherboard with a Ryzen 3600, it gives some error about Display Port, suggesting it may be detecting a connection to display port on the motherboard.
  8. https://timmyomahony.com/blog/making-usb-push-buttons/ I found this which I think will work.
  9. I'm trying to set up a case button as an eject button for my HTPC. I have an unused USB header so I figured if I can get a programmable USB button, I could solder a case button header to it. https://www.ultimarc.com/usbbutton/control-interface/nanobutton/ basically I need something like this, but without the $31USD shipping to New Zealand charge.
  10. I've checked and there's no way I can fit a cable through to where the button connects in my 12.7mm drive. Is there anywhere I can buy a USB programmable button? I have an unused USB 2.0 header so I could connect the button internally and mod pins for the reset button to it
  11. It's a slim sata drive. Can't be assed playing the modern search algorithm game enough to find a 12.7mm drive teardown. But even on a full sized drive it's soldered on and it will be even trickier with a slim drive, escpecially since the PCB which the button is connected to is in the moving disc tray.
  12. How do I wire it to the drive? That sounds like a complicated drilling and soldering job to get it to the PCB in the drive. Is there another connector on the motherboard I could use?
  13. I've nearly finished an HTPC build, however I need to order a 12.7mm blu ray drive bezel and all of the sellers are on holiday for the rest of the month, in-addition to the diceroll number of weeks I need to wait for anything to arrive from China (still waiting for the sata to slim sata adapter I ordered in December) The case comes with a placeholder drive bay insert which I think would look good as a drive bezel, so I was thinking I could trim it down and use double sided tape to use that as my bezel. However, it doesn't have an eject button, so I would like to reconfigure the reset button to act as an eject button. The reset button actually has a triangle inside a circle icon which looks like the designer had an eject button in mind. Any suggestions on how I could do this? Relevant specs: Case: Silverstone ML-09 MB: ASUS ROG Strix B450i OS: Windows 10 I know there's an option in power settings to change the power button's behavior, but it's restricted to a few options and there is no such option for the reset button.
  14. I recommend Ryzen 7 3700X minimum if you plan on livestreaming/recording gameplay. A lot of modern games want 6 cores and you need an extra 2 cores for capture software. And for 1440p resolution, an RTX 2700 should handle it just fine and be future proof. Even if you aren't playing the latest games, you should always buy above what you need if you can so that it will last. You never know what awesome new game which satisfies your tastes could be announced around the corner. Personally I regret buying a Ryzen 5 3600 only to find out I need 8 cores if I want to stream the latest games. I mostly have older games on PC and the most demanding game I have is Overwatch, which should only need 6 cores to stream, but I'm cringing at the thought of a new game I want to stream getting announced.
