I see lots of people put their phones on their desks at work (for example)

This will allow you to more easily see incoming messages (just an example) and keep the back of the phone protected with the rubberized coating on the stand (versus laying it down flat on a table)

It's not for everyone, but we find the super handy.

kristaps552 has the right idea. You want your media/assets on as fast of a drive as possible as reading media often is a big bottleneck, especially when you have many layers. You're SSD is a little small, but hopefully for what you're doing, it'll work. You'll want to export to your HDD though. This will allow you to read from the fast SSD and write to the HDD at the same time. Finally, getting another SSD would be ideal for scratch disk/disk cache but if you can't do that, just make a folder on your HDD. This way you can have like 100GB just for cache and it can read from the media drive as well as the cache drive at the same time. Usually you want as fast a drive as possible for cache, but with your current set up, it's better to be on the HDD.

In the end though, all those optimizations will only minimally help with your rather low end system. As long as you don't have too crazy of stuff, it's totally usable, but once you start getting a lot of layers going, it may begin to chug and encoding is going to take a long time.

No your rendering speeds are up to the rest of your system. The actual program might be more responsive but the SSD or HDD has very little to do with rendering times.

Install the OS on the SSD and keep the stuff that you are working on atm on the SSD, when you are finished, move everything to the HDD, that should speed up the ram previews and stuff, but for that I'd suggest a larger SSD.

P.s. in this situation you should've just ordered it without the graphics card, and bought one seperatly, because then you wouldn't be stuck with that ''high end'' (high end my arse) graphics card.

Definitely put the OS on the SSD, this gives you most noticeable improvement in general speed and performance. The HDD are perfect for bulky files and storage that needs to be adressed very often, the SSD is perfect for your OS and programs you use on a daily basis..
