  1. omg, Omg, OMg, OMG !!!! i acctually just found out WHY, this son of a b.....h is lit. There are four LED's. Each one of them, during startup/boot illuminates. indicating that "something" is wrong, and stays "lit" untill problem is solved/removed. Found this out the odd way of realizing my ram speeds had crasched and reset too default a long time ago. during trying to get them back too speeds, i realized, i just cant enter bios, so, upgraded bios, still didnt get into them, tryed everything. ended up clear cmos. And now, i cant even boot up, did notice that a green led, had lit up over the extremely bright white one. started a massive investigation, and found out. that the led's are startup sequence "indicators" of sort, each one of the four beeing a different fault code, and remains lit, untill fault is removed, or solved. So, got a hand on a relative that could come over with his gpu for testing. And all of a sudden, i acctually just "poff" gets the "press F2 or DEL" to enter bios prompt. Enterd bios, did some things. And pc boots up again. Also. white LED is GONE !. goes back to my gpu,m it does boot up, but i dcant get into bios.... And. Bright white LED light off doom is on again... Now, i just dont know how too figure out WHat it does say is "at fault" with the GPU, it does work. But LED is indicator of something wrong, and with the lended gpu, it is off, happy days then. but with mine, no bueno... any suggestions on how to figure ot what the problem might be ?
  2. i did chase thoose benchmark scores when the rig was new and shiny just too compete within my speccs, i was just so so so sure that i hade done my research back then to have it all set up as it should be, but, when i cant even trust myself a year later that i did it as it should be done. i just had to make sure...
  3. This was the part that i was kinda thinking of during the night when this tought crossed my mind and keept me awake for longer than it should. But i just had to know !... And now i do. It was in the "correct" slot... and all i had to break to figure this out was my mind, and the plastic "dohdah" that realeases the gpu... Yet again, thank you all for your assistance, i will now crawl back into my dungeon, with my scared self and polish my shotgun with makers mark wisky and mumble "kill the rabbit" for a while before making coffe and playing some games. Have a great day ya all.
  4. thank you for the additional input while i was spamming buttons like a troglodyte trying to get into bios, which failed misserable. i will now proceed with the wast amount of angeer i have aquierd by spaming F2, DEL, F12 while still failing to get into Bios and with this angeer i will add just a tad of brute force and open this son of a basterd machine and with my eyes hopefully see that it is in the right slot or i will jam it in the correct one hopefully without brteaking things. stay tuned, i will report back shortly...
  5. Ahh, yes, it seems like it acctually have 2 slots, opening my eyes and looking inside thew case there is 2 slots, but im my manual it shows three, go figure. But im guessing i shiould get it into slot 1 then if it isnt already in there. since it beeing closer to the cpu. Didnt even think about the bios. will reboot right now and see if i can figure it out from there, untill i return shortly, thank you !
  6. So, i have a Asus Rog strix X570-F gaming motherboard, and i built the setup with this a while ago. I dont remember what slot i used for the M2 drive, i remember it has 3 slots, that i verrified with the manual as im writing this post. And i also checked of the speeds they are according to the manual. They all read as "PCIe 4.0/3.0x16 slot (PCIE_X16_1/2/3)" in the manual. But somewhere, i recall that for C: you should use the one closest to the Cpu due to latency/fastest or similar. so... 1: Is there a way i can check what slot is occupied on my motherboard without physsicaly dissassembleing it, 2: if there acctually is a difference, how much differnce can it be ? Best Regards from Sweden
  7. it would be a decent usefull setting that Turned the star of jerusalem OFF, 5-10 min after boot incase something, actually ISNT wrong...
  8. i Have the in topic named motherboard for my AMD rig. The onboard "status" LED has a bright white light that starts too getting the worst out of me. I did google too seee if i could find anything for this. Also, didnt find anything in the Bios, althou, i might have missed it, was hoping for some setting or something that turns it off after a while. any sugestions ?, im on the edge of going tape-mayhem over it. But ill make a coffe now and check in here to see if anyone here have a fix for me. Best Regards.
  9. some years ago i built a low temp chiller cooling a IP-alcohol, i was doodelinbg with the idea of bulding it with a dew-point controler for lowest possible temp without the risk of water forming. But never came to it, it was sold before i made plans into reality. so it stayed as a pure on/off unit getting -55c on the alcohol solution. Fun times But i have been thinking of maybe making a similir build without insulated tubing, and building a hardline setup in the case and an external chiller for the purpose, and dew-point controll the temperatures.
  10. i need to follow this. i went for a synology after and today i packed it down in the box it came from and will return it. Either something wrong with this, or, user fault wich is very likely. But after hours of dealing with the Bull***t it threw and the noice it made idling. i just had enough. So, Either ill just start backup manually, wich is a pain in the behind, or ill might just look into building something small on my own.
  11. i orderd a DS218j 2-Bay, and 2 Seagate BarraCuda 2TB 7200rpm 256MB. but i think i might put these 2 new disks into my pc, and switch the 2 1 TB modules i have in the pc now into the nas.
  12. i changed it up and orderd a Synology instead
  13. i went for a WD my cloud home. didnt have raid somethingsomething, but ill try it out atleast
