  1. I have downloaded the extreme version. What do I need to do with it? I guess it is one of the benchmarks?
  2. Hi, I have just upgraded my PC from a really old HDD to a Samsung 850 EVO SSD today. This has drastically improved the performance of my PC. Being spurred on by this, I downloaded the Gigabyte Smart6 application for my mother board which allows novices to easily overclock their CPUs. I have an Intel Core i3 540 CPU which is a few years old. It has the stock Intel cooler on it. Using the Smart QuickBoost application for my PC I overclocked the CPU to 3.68 GHz with a FSB of 160 MHz. The CPUs default clock speed is 3.06 GHz and the FSB is 133 MHz. Do you think this will be stable and OK? I have been monitoring the temps and the 2 cores seem to sit around 30C and 35C respectively when doing some light web browsing on Chrome with a few applications running in the background. Thanks, Brandon
  3. Vessel : bwilliams127 My favourite 2 videos are: https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf https://www.vessel.com/videos/G-DUjgUyY
  4. I live in the UK and the Vessel videos are loading really really slowly. Even 4K works for me on YouTube without any problems. Pausing the vessel videos to let them buffer does not seem to work for me also as the video preloads a few seconds then stops. Even if I leave it for like 30 mins only a few seconds of video are preloaded.
  5. Also, would running Windows in EC2 be better than running Linux because I know much much more about Windows and I would be able to install it easier. Would this work?
  6. Hi guys, I have one Ubiquiti UniFi UAP in my house and I have the controller software (v.3.2.5) running on my MacBook Air. I want to take advantage of certain features such as usage statistics and guest portals but I understand that this requires that the controller is on 24/7 and unfortunately I cannot leave my MBA on all the time. I have seen people running the UniFi controller software on EC2 (AWS) and I have a few questions that I hope one of you may be able to answer. - How much would it cost to run the controller every month on EC2 with the free tier? Would I need any extras above the free tier? - How would I install and run the controller on EC2? I need the latest version of the controller which is v.3.2.5. Do I setup linux and install it on that? If so, how? Also does anyone have experience running the controller on AWS? Thanks in advance for any answers!
  7. Hi, I have installed the package and dependancies. How do I start the Unifi program now then? Also, is there a firewall in this version of Linux which would prevent me from accessing the web admin page on another computer? Thanks so much for your assistance.
  8. Thanks. Would I need to install MongoDB or Java separatley or would it all install using that 1 command?
  9. Thanks, that looks great! How do I get this on to the RPi then? Thanks!
  10. Hi, I purchased a Ubiquiti UniFi UAP access point a few days ago to replace the WiFi from our crappy ISP provided router. The AP is brilliant and the controller software is great too. I currently have it installed on my MacBook Air (V. 3.2.5). I have seen posts about people installing it on a Raspberry Pi and decided to search up how to install it on my Pi but the tutorials are written for people that have a good understanding of Linux. They say things like "Compile the software package manually" and I don't have a clue what that means! Does anyone know where a simple guide can be located, or would anyone be interested in writing a guide? Thanks, Brandon
  11. Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely check this out. Will the solution I originally posted about actually work though?
  12. Do you have any particular suggestions? I am looking for a budget solution
  13. Hi, I have been looking at outdoor access points to expand my wifi network into the garden. I have seen this access point on Amazon : LINK and wondered if this would work for my network. I have a ADSL router which has WiFi turned on, and a second router which has the network cable plugged into the LAN port, so it is acting as an access point not a router. This setup works really well. Would it be possible to connect the linked outdoor access point up to my network and use it to get improved coverage in my garden? Would this improve the speeds and range of my iPads, iPhones and computers? The reason I ask this is because will my iPad be able to transmit far enough for the access point to be able to pick it up? Thanks in advance for your help, Brandon EDIT : Here is a better link : http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?categoryid=216&model=TL-WA5210G
