  1. Hi everyone. I am in Hawaii and that limits me to Amazon and Walmart and places with free shipping. I put in an order for an RX 7600 from Amazon for around $275, my budget it $300. I will be upgrading from a RX 570 8 GB. I decided on the 7600 because it's within my budget, but now I'm having second thoughts. Should I be going Nvidia? Or even Intel? I play Escape from Tarkov and PUBG. Maybe even a little Cyberpunk. However, I don't usually buy the latest AAA games because they don't appeal to me. The only game I'm really looking forward to is Stalker 2. Is there a card I'm overlooking? I'm thinking about maybe returning the RX 7600 and going for something else.
  2. I tested RAM last month, it's okay. Tested monitor and HDMI cable with another computer. They are fine. Swapped out RX 570 for a different GPU. It's an Nvidia GPU and the fan is spinning on it. However, no post, no boot, and no BIOS. This is really frustrating.
  3. ASRock B550M Phantom Gaming 4 AMD Ryzen 5 5600 X EVGA Supernova 550 GT 80 Plus Gold 550W Teamgroup 32 GB DDR4 RAM Teamgroup 1 TB NVME SSD XFX 570 8GB I put all my parts together. Upon pressing the power button lights turn on and fans spin. The box to my motherboard says Ryzen 5000 ready. Everything powers on but there is no display on the monitor. No option to enter BIOS. I checked connectors. I am thinking the motherboard shouldn't need a BIOS update since they put the sticker on the box. I am letting the computer run on for a few minutes, but I do not know if I will ever get a boot screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  4. I flashed the BIOS update. In order to do that I had to let it fail powering up and then the BIOS Flashback would work. However, this did not solve my problem. I'm going to return this board. Thank you for your help.
  5. I am building a new PC and I am having trouble starting my PC for the first time. At first, I was trying to start the PC without the EATX12V cable plugged in. The fans would turn on and spin nicely. I realized my mistake and plugged in the EATX12V cable. When I plug in the power chord and press the power button the PC will turn on for a split second and then turn off. Can the problem be the power supply? I am using the PSU from a build that died. I always assumed the motherboard was the culprit because while I could power on and boot into BIOS I could never boot into a GUI with that one. But then I remember there were problems with PC randomly rebooting. So, the fans will all spin if the CPU power is not plugged into the motherboard. When I plug it in the PC will turn on momentarily and then shut down. Things I have tried: Attempted to boot with only CPU, GPU, and one stick of RAM. I have two sticks of RAM and I alternated between the two. Reseated RAM, NVME 2 drive... Reseated GPU and CPU pins Here is my build: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L Micro-ATX Tower with Magnetic Design Dust Filter, Transparent Acrylic Side Panel, Adjustable I/O & Fully Ventilated Airflow, Black (MCB-Q300L-KANN-S00) Thermalright TL-C12CW-S X3 CPU Fan 120mm White ARGB Case Cooler Fan, up to 1550RPM Cooling Fan,4pin PWM Silent Computer Fan with S-FDB Bearing Included ASUS Prime B450M-A II AMD AM4 (Ryzen 5000, 3rd/2nd/1st Gen Ryzen Micro ATX Motherboard (128GB DDR4, 4400 O.C.), NVMe, HDMI 2.0b/DVI/D-Sub, USB 3.2 2, BIOS Flashback, and Aura Sync) TEAMGROUP MP33 1TB SLC Cache 3D NAND TLC NVMe 1.3 PCIe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 Internal SSD Read/Write Speed up to 1800/1500 MB/s Compatible with Laptop & PC Desktop TM8FP6001T0C101 AMD Ryzen™ 5 5500 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked Desktop Processor with Wraith Stealth Cooler
  6. I would be jumping from a Ryzen 5 1400. Not a big enough upgrade for me.
  7. I've been looking processors to choose from this page: https://pangoly.com/en/compatibility/asrock-ab350m/cpu Most of the CPUs I would want are out of stock. I've been checking eBay and I've found that the used and refurbished prices are often as much or even more than the prices listed on the Pangoly site. This is kind of crazy. I'm open to buying a used CPU but I thought the whole benefit was that they were cheaper than the brand new price. Is there a CPU shortage? This is a bit frustrating.
  8. Damn, I just missed out on this: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/amd-ryzen-5-3600-3rd-generation-6-core-12-thread-3-6-ghz-4-2-ghz-max-boost-socket-am4-unlocked-desktop-processor/6356278.p?skuId=6356278 I'll definitely keep an eye out for this sort of thing.
  9. Budget (including currency): ~250 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Battlefield 2042 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Using existing parts Hey all, here are the specs for my current rig: ASRock AB350M-HDV Socket AM4/AMD B350/DDR4/SATA3&USB3.0/M.2/A&GbE/MicroATX Motherboard Radeon RX 570 AMD Ryzen 5 1400 Quad-Core Processor 32 GB RAM TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 3000MHz (PC4-24000) CL16 Desktop Memory Module Ram (Gray) - TLZGD416G3000HC16CDC01 425W Power Supply Corsair CX Series 450 Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Modular Power Supply (CP-9020101-NA) Sabrent Rocket Q 1TB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High Performance Solid State Drive R/W 3200/2000MB/s (SB-RKTQ-1TB) I preordered Battlefield 2042 without checking the CPU and it turns out it's the only component that doesn't meet the minimum. I've tried the Open Beta and my CPU is around 99% all the time. So, I wanted to keep my existing rig and just upgrade the CPU and power supply. I don't want to go all out and replace the board and basically build a new PC because I might end up abandoning the rig. I'm in Hawaii so I can only really buy from people who do free shipping here. Or cheap shipping. I've thought about getting a used CPU but I am kind of scared of buying used parts. However, I hear Linus talk about that all the time. Any suggestions?
  10. You can make a NAS from a Raspberry Pi. You can even use the older Pi 3.
  11. Anyone else play this game? I can't get enough of it. Hit me up if you have a discord and want to go raiding.
