  1. Its an outlet that has 3 pins. One of which is reserved for a grounding pin.
  2. How would I go about fixing that P.S. yes, Ive tried turning it off and on again.
  3. Would that work? As it only stops working when something to do with software happens.
  4. tried disabling and re-enabling the device in device managerm and didnt work.
  5. Hey guys, generally whenever my laptop comes out of hibernation (but can sometimes randomly happen), it shows no Wi-Fi networks to connect to. Would be really useful for any advice, as currently I have to tether my phone, which is a pain. Also, task manager doesnt show a Wi-Fi card when this happens Thanks in advance, Tom Edit: I forgot to include the Wi-Fi card:
  6. I've had a great experience with VideoProc converter. If I where you I'd use the trial, then uninstall it once you've finished converting.
  7. I'd wait until 4080 comes out, as 4090 seems a little extreme.
  8. Thats basically a whole new PC, as the only thing youd be able to transfer accross is the drive and RAM. As you'd definitely need a new PSU for the 3080.
  9. If you want a solid upgrade path I'd wait for ryzen 7000 series, get the cheapest option, then when the 3D V-cache equivilents come out, upgrade to them.
  10. Hi, problem: My mums logitech M170 has started randomly jittering. What I mean by this is that if I move it in a circle it will make a shape nowhere near a triangle and will often end up not going back where it came from. solutions that havnt worked: - battery replacement - different computer - disabling EPP - going outside (dramatic sound effect) Thanks in advance, Tom EDIT: after posting this the mouse has started working.
  11. Did you have to use a low profile bracket, if so which one did you use, as I want to make sure I get one with a LP bracket.
  12. two questions about that Wi-Fi card: 1. will that definately have a low profile adapter? 2. It mentions this: does that mean that without a CD drive I cant install the drivers, or is it plug and play? Thanks in advance, Tom
  13. reccomending this PC for a friend: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/scan-home-office-pro-intel-core-i7-12700f-16gb-ddr4-2gb-nvidia-gt-730-1tb-ssd-win-11-pro-see-info (doing general office work on it, nothing demanding, just wants it to work for a long time) he then said he needed Wi-Fi, although doesnt want to use a USB Wi-Fi dongle as he's had some break in the past. I was wondering if a PCIe Wi-Fi card would work. Motherboard used in the pre-built: ASUS PRIME H610M-K D4 Case used in the pre-built: Antec VSK2000 I think it'll work, although I'll have to swap it out for a low profile bracket.
  14. everyday tasks, with some light workstation tasks mixed in. Although, the spec is mostly focussed on lasting a long time.
  15. CPU: 12600K £271 CPU cooler: unknown GPU 3060 £380 SSD: Samsung 970 EVO plus £65 RAM: 2x16GB LPX vengance £57 PSU: Seasonic focus GX 650W 80+ gold £70 Motherboard: unknown Case: unknown Budget so far: £843 (leaving £257 for motherboard, case and CPU cooler) total budget allowed £1100 This PC needs to last for a long time! My questions: Will the hyper 212 be enough for a 12600K? notes: - I was thinking about going for this one: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/silverstone-sst-kr02-kryton-cpu-cooler-3-direct-contact-heatpipes-92mm-hydraulic-bearing-pwm-fan-int What motherboard should I go for? requirements: - compatibility (obviously) - 4 DIMM slots, for upgradability - last for a long time What case should I go for? requirements: - professional looking - cheap - long lasting, my grandfather (the person who's PC this is going to be) had his last PC for 10 years - easy to build in What CPU cooler should I go for? requirements: - enough to cool 12600K (obviously) - preferably no RGB or anything, it'll be sitting under a desk, that no-one will see.
  16. Budget (including currency): roughly £1000 Country: England Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Lasting a long time, although needs compatibility with most workstation programs (basically it needs CUDA) Current parts list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/NHgzhk (no other parts needed) Thanks in advance, Tom
  17. Damn, you should work for their marketing team.
  18. just looked it up, based off this image: I think it either includes more fans or the fans are RGB. Also, the PC's longevity is very important, so would buying from a not very well known brand like "COUGAR" be a good option?
