  1. I did check the order and did follow the instructions which is why I am a little baffled as to why something like this would be a seating problem? Anyway, I will re-seat the CPU again and see if that is the issue.
  2. Well , I will be switching out out a RTX 2080 Ti this weekend, so I could try a re-seat of the CPU again and see if that makes any difference. The thing is, a ThreadRipper install really only has one way to do it, maybe I should wiggle the CPU around a bit to make sure it is settled properly???
  3. OK, I am going to bump this with a bit more info as I really need some help with this. My system is,ROG Zenith II ExtremeThreadRipper 3970xG.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series 256GB (8 x 32GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200So first time booting with 8 sticks of RAM in the MOBO I was getting an error and not able to even post. So going through everything I was able to figure out that the RAM slots A1 and B1 were not allowing the post. However, with 6 sticks in A2 and B2 RAM was allowing a post , but not being recognized.Next step was to flash the BIOS to the latest. No diceSo I resat the CPU and nothing changed. So I figured it was a faulty MOBO. I went ahead and bought another MOBO.Try number 2,The exact same thing happened and now I have 128gb of RAM that I can't use, not to mention that the system will not boot with DOCP enabled. So I can't even have the RAM run at stated frequency. What do I have top do to get this to work?Any help would be much appreciated.
  4. The first MOBO had the same issue, so I bought a new one. And by that I mean, the 4 rails to the right would not register RAM AND cause an error and not post. I had the RAM checked and it was OK. So I bought a new MOBO and the same issue occurred. So I figured it was a RAM compatibility issue and bought a full set. But again the same issue, the RAM slots to the right won't register the RAM, but I was able to start with 6 RAM modules and post correctly (The extra 2 sticks of RAM was not registered, but 8 sticks caused and error) This is a strange issue .
  5. OK, so I was getting errors with my RAM that I had bought on one side of my MOBO, ROG Zenith II Extreme was not allowing RAM to register. So I bought a second MOBO and the same thing happened, good bye $900. So I get the new MOBO and the same happens (I did get the RAM checked to see if it was the issue, but the RAM was all good). So I get the idea that it was a MOBO RAM compatibility issue and I bought the G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series 256GB (8 x 32GB) ThreadRipper BTW. And I should mention I have flashed the BIOS to the latest So, I installed them and again and the right lanes on the MOBO again don't register. What do I have top do to get this to work? Please.
  6. You all are helping very much, as I do most of my shopping in USA.
  7. Hmmm, the name dose not give it away? Japan if you did not get that.
  8. OK, I see now. But Trident Royal 2 x 32 GB x 4 will still equate about the same price.
  9. I did say, "If my calculations were correct" ? Just bought these, G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Series 256GB Thanks for the help everyone.
  10. If my calculations are correct I believe I will be opening 5,120 tabs of Chrome.
  11. Thanks, that is a good way of finding the RAM I need. I wanted 3200, but that parts-picker list has quite a few. Thanks for that.
  12. The question is if the MOBO will handle it and when DDR5 will actually come out.
  13. Hey All, Could someone show where this memory is being sold? G.SKILL DDR4 32GB 256GB Memory kit For the life of me I can't find it anywhere??? Cheers
  14. From what I have been told, the 3990x can not be fully utilized by Windows yet. That said, you will have to choose which is more important, RAM or single core power and that will be your answer.
  15. Can someone point me in the right direction to OC'ing a ThreadRipper 3970x on a Asus MOBO? Cheers
  16. Changed the title and contents for all 3xxxx CPU's. Cheers
  17. The rest of the network is 10gb with 10 gb internet. With a 10gb switch. Driver won't install BTW.
  18. Hey All, I can use the standard ethernet port fine ,but when plugging into the 10gb on my MOBO (Zenith Extreme II) I can't connect to the internet. I am using a standard Cat 6a cable to connect to the net, but nothing is working? Any ideas?
  19. Can we get a AMD Idle/Load temp thread?. Looking for people to post what temps they are getting on their AMD 3XXX when on Idle and under load. Please post what stress test you are using under load for comparison. Also if possible the ambient temps of the room you have the PC in and what cooling you are using. Also posting in Fahrenheit is fine, just follow the below pattern for posting. Just copy and paste and change to your settings. My temps, CPU: 3970x @3.7GHz Cooling: Custom loop water cooling Ambient: 20 degrees Idle: 25-35 degrees celsius Load: 49 degrees, Cinebench 20 multi-thread, score 17354 Load: 48 degrees, Cinebench 20 single-thread, score 519
  20. igh, My MOBO's meory slots on the right side a done. Looks like I will have to return the unit. Another pull-down of the hard tubing, my 9th time so far. Hard tubing looks cool they say..............
  21. If you did you would have noticed as it stops the installation of windows. One question, did you install windows while connected to the net?
