  1. Current build is i7 Devils canyon - 4790k GTX 680 SLI - (first one bought in 2012, the second in Jan/2019) GPU Im looking at: RTX 2070 Asus ROG @ 1845MHz Boost That will run me $639 CAD ($722.07 With Tax) I know the RTX Supers are coming out within a week or so, and their MHz Spec is 1770MHz at boost I know the MSRP is listed as $499 (assuming this is USD) , which is $652.84 CAD ($737.71 With Tax) thats for a reference RTX Super. last time I looked at PC hardware was when the first VR dev kit was released. I am Very much, out of the loop Im starting a new union job at the end of the month, My thinking is, this is a good enough deal to get now. and play a game an hour or so a week. Or its not a deal and when I get settled in, (Around Sept Im guessing) Is when I should get a new GPU. Looking for any input. EDIT: I decided to look into this OC'ed 2070 vs a GTX 1080. The 1080 was released back in 2016, the RTX 2070 Being released recently-ish. With that considered, I looked into benchmarks. The RTX 2070 Barely beats it. they are both great cards. and my GTX 680's still run recent games on medium well. Its Vram is holding it back But when I compare the improvement of the RTX over the GTX1080 is very lackluster. Disappointing for a company who took a few years off from releasing new GPU Lineups. I'll wait for either a REALLY good sale, or more likely, the next Gen GPUs
  2. I loved the software features shown in this review. IMO, its modified android done right. The feature I liked the most though would be able to reply from texts without switching the a texting specific app.
  3. I went with the NAD VISO HP50. very nice. Able to buy a long cable so I can get the range I like. The cups on the ears at first felt rather small and hard. But about 3-5 days after wear the cups didn't feel so small and are much softer. I reallly like the sound. I can hear everything without anything being out of balance. Well, To my unprofessional ears. In the end, I think these headphones will last for a very long time. And ill be happy up to the day these headphones die.
  4. I looked at the Shure SRH440 and they are something im definitely not getting. They are good, in the price range they are in. But There is better in my price range. Also the visible wire that goes from earcup to earcup Makes me worried they may break when they snag on something. The two headphones im debating is the NAD VISA HP50 and the Sennheiser HDx DJ Im going to wait abit for some HDx DJ/mix reviews to come out. Reason that im waiting for reviews for these DJ based headphones is that they are (I double checked CES coverage) over ear headphones that have a detachable cord and have passive sound isolation from sennheiser. Also, if anyone could help me with this, but how would the razer orca's be classified compared to the HD8 DJ? I know the Orcas aren't the best, but I did like the deep sound from them when I was casually listening to videos/TV shows Orcas are honestly the only actually (but not really) headphones that ive owned besides some $15 ones.
  5. According to this page: http://www.sennheiser.ca/live/senn/produit/en/3024/14/ They are Circumaural Headphones. Which to my understanding is over ear. Correct me if im wrong. Definitely will take a look at them
  6. The only way I can guarantee that I get cheap (around/under $15) headphones that have the sound I want to test is to ship them in. all stores here carry the same cheap headsets, Dre Beats and turtle beaches. So, I dont think that buying abunch of cheap headphones is a option for me. I am currently leaning towards the sennheisers HD8 DJ.
  7. Those are coming up with some very nice reviews. My choices have been narrowed down to two: Sennheisser HD8 DJ And the NAD VISO HP50 What I think this comes down to is how I prefer my sound. So I can see if the HD8 have a demo available for me to test. To see if I like it. OR the more likely option, read reviews and try to find one that describes the sound in a way that makes sense to me.
  8. Update on my advice needing. decided that the RS220 arent for me because: 1) Ill be moving into an apartment building. to much interference. 2) The RS 200 leak noise in and out abit to much according to the Cnet review. and thats a nono since im moving into an apartment. So my new criteria is: 1) Over ear 2) long cable 3) Passive noise cancellation. The active ones take batteries and the active ones make me feel abit sick i find. (This is up to change) 4) (not required) Have changeable wire ATM these are my current choices that im debating and ones I've eliminated: ELIMINATED: SennHeiser MM 500-X Shure SRH1540 Audio Technica ATH-ANC9 QuietPoint Sennheisser RS 220 Denon AH-NC800 ATH-M50x STILL DEBATING: Sennheisser HD8 DJ NAD VISO HP50 Open for reasons as to to reconsider the headphones ive eliminated. The budget is anything under $700.
  9. Hello, I just broke the only headphones I had. The Panasonic RP-HT722. So I need a new pair. I've always liked the idea of wireless, and when I the sennheiser RS 220 and saw that sennheiser was claiming there was little to no audio distortion/loss, I got very intrigued. Sadly, I dont have access to them. So I cant test them out before buying. And buying instore around here isnt the best(I live in Canada Ontario, near the GTA). and I dont really get the online reviews on the sound of it. So, what im wondering is: Are these headphones worth the cost? Or is there some wired headphone that blows this out of the water and is worth sacrificing wireless? And I do not want a headset. It must be headphones. And if my best option is wired. I would need a lengthy cable. headphones will be used for: gaming VoIP Media consumption (mainly videos) Budget is <$700
  10. Alright, I think im going to get the U2312HM, going to sleep on it one more night, but it seems like a really nice monitor.
  11. Alright, the monitor suggestions helped allot, but somehow I am temped to a monitor that wasnt suggested, the Dell U2312HM(On sale at newegg.com for $216 CAD). I am probably going to get this Monitor, just posting here incase there is something I majorly overlooked.
  12. I'm looking for an IPS(More specific, non-TN) monitor for around $200 CAD (this includes taxes). I will be using the monitor for: Gaming Amature photo editing Entertainment consumption Amature video editing Preferred size, 22" - 26" I am aware TN is the goto for gaming, but from what I understand, its only helpful to Pro gamers, which i'm definatly not. I did look around, and quite honestly, I started to feel overwhelmed with all the choices and such. Also, a cat:
  13. Oh, so if RCA audio out is used, both the TV speakers and this wireless speaker set will be usable at once? If so, that is exactly what i need.
  14. My current situation is that my Aunts Father, who happens to be hard of hearing, cant hear their tv set unless the volume is turned up all the way, which is deafening everyone else, i've seem to found the solution, which is use the wireless speakers called "EZ-TV Listening wireless". But they want to use the TV speakers AND this wireless speaker set at the same time, is this possible? And if it isnt, any suggestions for a solution to my Aunts problem? The TV make is: Panasonic Viera Model number they gave me is: MF03230061
