Currently I have 2x 3090s and nvlink bridge installed into my new mobo. It is running at 8x/2x instead of 8x/8x. In the bios there is no way to change 2x/4x for NVME drives, like in my older mobo. M.2_1 is Gen 5 and is shared with PCIEx16_1 and PCIEx16_2. the manual specifies that if there is an nvme drive in M.2_1, PCIEx16_2 will be disabled. it is unpopulated. instead, I have Gen 4 drives in M.2_2 and M.2_3 (RAID 0). Those slots are Gen 4, not Gen 5. does anyone else have a similar setup? or know what I need to change in the BIOS? ASUS isnt helping because my memory (Corsair Vengeance 5200C40 2x16GB) isnt on the QVL. Corsair Vengeance 5200C38 is on the QVL, and I have tried running plain JDEC, XMP, and have overclocked to the 5200C38 specs to try and rule out the memory.

My personal opinion is yeah, you made a mistake. I seriously considered getting the RMA parts and sell them, then going to EPYC or something else. I feel like maybe the pandemic or something caused QA to be rushed, or something. this is a finicky setup. if I want to run at 3600MHz, I have to power on my machine, then let it post in safe mode, then let it reboot. THEN it will boot. if I want to get into the BIOS, i have to remove my SAS card. This platform is seriously overkill for a gaming rig. I have over 20 VMs and a couple dozen docker images. also around 200TB of hard drive space with a ML VM using those Titans. it was a way for me to consolidate, but if I had to do it again, id do something different

Asus Maximus XII Extreme, 10900k. I verified that the Mobo does support SLI. and I didnt see anything in the bios to explicitly disable or enable it. I do have the following settings: Rebar is Auto Above 4G decoding is Enabled and PCIEx4 is set to 4x instead of 2x but that should only affect HDDs plugged into SATA5 and 6 -

So I finally got a 3 slot nvlink for my 3090s. and just in time for nvidia to remove SLI from their drivers. I would like to see what kind of score I can get with my setup and 3dmark will not use the 2nd card at all. I have tried reverting back to January 26 driver and did a clean install. that still didnt allow the SLI option in control panel. Does anyone have any info on that?

Its been running for about 8 months, but due to trying to get parts, I decided to wait until I got them all. This machine is purposed for working from home, gaming, and development (Machine Learning, C#, etc) It is currently on the floor, and as soon as I can get that fiber thunderbolt 3 cable, Ill relocate the PC into my "furnace room" with my other server that isnt working.... My office gets super hot during the day and its a bit loud. Specs: Intel i9 10900K (OC to 5.2 AC, 5.6 Single(This is just to see what it can do. 5.0 AC is my normal day to day)) 64GB GSkill 3200MHz Trident RGB Ram Asus Maximus XII Extreme 2x EVGA 3090 FTW3 GPUs PNY Nvlink 3-slot 3 NVME Samsung 970 Pros Corsair Obsidian 1000D Case EVGA P2 1600 PSU Custom PSU Cables Brown/Black/White (this stuff was in a walnut case and sits next to a walnut slab desk, so it matches) Cooling: 2x 480 EKWB XE Rads 1x 240 EKWB SE Rad EKWB 360FLT pump/Res combo EK-QuantumX Delta TEC CPU Block EKWB 3090 FTW3 GPU Blocks 16mm Hard Tubing (never again...) 10x Noctua PPC Industrial 120mm fans EKWB Mystic Fog Fluid (Goes clear within 24 hours every time.....)

I think this is a good place to ask this question... I would like to put my computer in another room (the furnace room with all the servers and networking stuff) and use it in my office (they share a wall). the computer gets super hot and the fans are loud. I am a MS Consultant and need to not have so much background noise, but I love how fast my computer is lol. I have never used thunderbolt, but have the capability, I just dont know what all I need. I have 2 monitors, a 4k and an 1440p ultrawide wireless logitech keyboard and mouse blue yeti mic and will need to use usb ports here and there.
