  1. It was definitely chosen on purpose with a double meaning. Five nines is industry standard, not to mention it makes actually no sense given the context. If you take into account how the line was delivered it's pretty obvious aswell.
  2. Tbh I don't think it's about Apple in particular, but more that Short Circuit is just very low quality content. I remember when they made the Sony 1000xm5 unboxing and couldn't figure out how to use the controls. Linus didn't bother to read the manual and just blamed the product for having janky controls.
  3. I have joined this board 4 years ago and mainly watching HU and LTT for over the last 5 years. You are just salty because people call you out for your ignorant behavior, when the criticism LMG is getting is very valid How is it fanboyism when linus refuses to test the product on the card it was designed for, but triples down that his test findings were correct? He absolutely deserves to be called out for it.
  4. What? Have you actually looked at the numbers Billet Labs published? They are outperforming EKWB in most cases. It was LTTs job to verify those claims and call them out if it was wrong, not to test on a wrong card and then randomly trashing the product. Tldr: the card would have stayed cool, if LTT didn't mess up the testing.
  5. A product being stupid and a product sucking are very different things. A supercar is stupid, doesn't mean that it sucks. You are going great lengths to excuse very neglecent behavior.
  6. But how would he know that the product sucked, if he hasn't tested it on the right card? Please enlighten us instead of turning a blind eye.
  7. Is there any actually argument you have? Or is the only thing you know strawman arguments and whataboutism, while ignoring the main issue we've been talking about? GNs behavior doesn't matter because the criticism they brought up is still valid. Good for me I have a broken leg right now and a lot of time on my hands. But yeah I mostly agree with you. It's just sad they took the path of "growth at any cost" while the quality went down for atleast the past 2-3 years now.
  8. It doesn't change the fact, that he can use the companies platform to possibly defame or destroy someones business by being neglecent. And that what Linus says on that show can directly damage LMGs image and reputation. It really doesn't matter if it's just a funny rant or from the top of his head.
  9. It simply doesn't matter, because it is a show directly affiliated to and organized by LMG and not a private leisure time twitch channel.
  10. I have read around 20 pages of this thread and read linus statements. As a viewer of almost 8 years I am shocked. I am not really a GN viewer, but the video was on the frontpage so I clicked it. @LinusTech Your statements regarding the brought up issues feel very out of touch. It makes absolutely zero difference if you have sold or auctioned off the prototype, it is the same thing. It was not your property and your company revealed possible trade secrets to unauthorized people and potential competitors. You tripling down on your data being valid, besides testing the product on THE WRONG GPU is beyond me. I myself have noticed factual errors in almost every short circuit video I watched. And often people pointed out other mistakes in the comments. Especially the testing of headphones without knowledge of what the product offers or how the controls work is painful to watch. Major criticism regarding the ethical obstructions by conflict of interest etc. haven't even been addresses. The community has been very lenient and understanding, even after you doubled down on not probiding a written warranty at first. The unwillingness to address these issues on the WAN show and the "disappointment in GN", while trying to argue on an emotional level, really shows that LMG is not ready to be a serious journalistic outlet like they want to be. Linus, I hope you don't get my comment wrong way, but the mistakes in the videos have been becoming so much a lot of viewers started noticing them and the general consensus has been "for well made reviews rather go somewhere else" for a while. I was able to overlook the mistakes in the videos and the ethical concerns regarding framework, but your childish response to the allegations really rub me the wrong way.
  11. I have some new info. While troubleshooting I found out that the high pitched noise is only happening, when the PSU is installed inside my case. If I have it separated from the case, but powering the system I dont have any sound coming from my motherboard. Any idea what could be the reason for this issue? my case is a Cougar Panzer.
  12. Even though the noise is coming from the mainboard?
  13. My specs: Mainboard: Gigabyte x370 K7 Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 1700x RAM: 2x 8gb G.Skill Ripjaws V Soundcard: Asus Phoebus PSU: Bitfenix Whisper 850 GPU: KFA2 GTX 1080 STORAGE: some HP & SAMSUNG SSDs So due to my old powersupply (Thermaltake smart m750) being very old and becoming noisy I wanted to get a new one. I checked the up to date tier list on the forum and bought the Bitfenix Whisper M 850. I know its oversized for my hardware, but it was the cheapest option out of all the A+ ranked PSUs. After installing the PSU and reassembling my PC, it started to have some deafening high pitched coil whine. Its neither the PSU, nor the GPU or soundcard. It seems to be the motherboard. What bugs me is, that the noise sometimes disappears completely and then comes back once I restart the PC. Is it possible, that my MB and my PSU just dont work well together or is one of them defective? Are there any tricks to atleast lower the noise? Thanks in advance!
