Ok, it's time I get a hole new PC. My AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ is barly keeping up. But on top of that, I am wanting to build a 2nd PC for my son. This isn't going to be my first build, but if you couldn't tell, it has been awhile; however, this will be my son's first build, and is the main reason for this.
Now, I was thing of going with the $900 Ryzen Gaming Build (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Zt1P41pjE4) for myself, and something like the "My First Gaming PC" from The Perfect DIY Gaming PC - Early 2020 Buyer's Guide (https://youtu.be/Lfcschg9uwU) for my son.
What I want to double check is that if I upgrade anything on my PC, that I would be able to just move that part over to my son's without much issue. IE, if i upgrade to a Ryzen 7, or even a 9, the 5 should work with the mobo in his. As far as I can tell, it should, but again, I want to double check.
Also, right now, the only think I think I'll keep from my old PC is the graphix card (an EVEA GTX 680) and use that in my son's PC.
Is there anything you would change about the builds? should I go Ryzen 3 over the Athlon for my son's PC? My budget for is about 1200 USD for both PCs combined.
