  1. Starting to find more posts about people being upset that it is advertised as a dual drive laptop, but does not include the upgrade hdd kit. My Helios 300 came with one, so I am not sure why this one wouldn't. Seems a bit ridiculous, I think I am just going to return the stupid thing.
  2. Well I did call Asus to ask, and the lady said 512GB SSD is all it could take. Documentation on this laptop is otherwise nearly non-existent. It didn't even come with a manual. Any idea what these little SATA connectors are called? SATA Hard Drive HDD Connector Flex Cable?
  3. I seen that but I didn't trust it as this one only comes with a SSD. I haven't quite figured out how to get the back rear section of panel off (I am going very gingerly as to not break the plastic), but peering in the front I see the spot for a 2.5" hdd and a small mobo section to plug in a hdd. I see now I also need to order a connector like this https://www.amazon.ca/NIMITZ-2-5inch-Connector-VivoBook-Matebook/dp/B07J4WRT71
  4. I am looking for a solid everyday notebook for my Wife that supports two drives. We are currently looking at the K571GT-DH51-CA with a 512SSD, and want to add a 2tb sata ssd. The description for the K571GT-DH51-CA literally reads "a dual-storage option provides the best of both worlds - the blistering data speeds of up to a 256GB SSD and the large storage capacity of up to a 1TB HDD", but when I call Asus they say they cannot confirm it can take a second drive. The technician at the local computer store said he was 99% sure, but not totally sure. Would anyone here know??? Are there any good youtube videos on taking these apart? My guess is it is not overly complicated, but sometimes it is nice to see what it looks like first.
  5. Wow! Ok, thank you both for your input. I am very happy to hear my computer still has some good life left in it! I will check out the GTX1070 and 1080. I can checkout the 5700XT but I also do a bit of video editing so I like sticking with NVIDIA for the Cuda Cores, unless AMD is now supported aswell. Should I be putting a better cooling system on my CPU and overclock it a bit?
  6. Hello everyone! I built a gaming PC back in 2013 and it has been the best system I have ever owned. My computer has given me zero issues to date and I still seem to be able to play modern games on low quality while achieving about 60fps. It would be nice to get a 144mhz monitor and play games like Destiny 2 at a higher frame rate, or more visual single player games at 60fps with higher settings. 2k resolution would be nice, but is not a big priority for me. I was wondering if people would suggest I upgrade my GPU at all; and if so what GPU I should be looking at getting? I was thinking a 1060 or 1080 would make the most sense? CPU: Intel Core i7 4770K (3.5GHZ) (Fan cooled - has never been overclocked) Ram: 16GB Corsair Vengence Dual-Channel DDR3 @801 MHZ (10-10-10-27) Motherboard: Asustek Z87-PRO (Socket 1150) Graphics : Asus 2047MB Nvidia Geforce GTX 670 Storage: Western Digital SSD for O/S + Multiple drives for games and video files Thank you in advanced, Dale
