Budget (including currency): $2000 Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Copying CD's onto network file server (business use) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I work part time at a law firm and my job essentially is to ingest evidence. All of the evidence we receive comes on CD’s, some comes in on USB hard drives. I easily ingest probably 200-300 CD's a month Yes, we know it’s 2024 So my job is essentially to rip all the CD’s onto our shared file server so the various lawyers, forensics experts, and clients can see the data in one place. We have a server setup and it is working great However, I need a new PC to ingest this data in a faster and more reliable manner. I’m looking for a build that has a minimum of 5 5.25” bays, and fits an ITX motherboard and some SSD’s. This PC will essentially only be used to rip CD’s onto our file server so I don’t need anything crazy Does anyone know of a case, or a way to get a custom case made, that can house this while remaining as small as possible to fit onto my desk? It needs to look and feel like it belongs in our office, so a minimal appearance is necessary. No RGB, no flashy colors, or huge cases I was thinking of possibly trying to have a custom case made, as we may buy another if it works out well

I'm looking for the best 5G modem for use within an office I will be moving offices soon to a new building with the caveat that the ISP has not yet made a connection to the building. I will be without internet in the building for about a month, and need a reliable connection to use during that time, and ideally in the future keep as a LTE backup. Does anyone have a recommendation on equipment? I will be using ATT within the US. I have looked a little bit at Cradlepoint but am curious if there are other, preferable rack mountable options. All I need to connect is my computer and printer. I don't really move large files for work it is mostly email and PDF documents I use.

I really can't right now because I am in the middle of the semester for school. I think I may just leave it and do a complete Windows reinstall afterwards -

I can only drag it left and right, nowhere else I also should ask if I close it, it kills OneDrive and I need it to sync at all times -
Anyone know why this OneDrive instance stays locked in my system taskbar? It is not pinned to the taskbar, it stays in the taskbar whenever OneDrive is running Windows 10 Enterprise Version 22H2 Build 19045.2604 OneDrive Build 23.043.0226.0001 (64-Bit)

Temporary Phone Plan for Study Abroad in Ireland?
13CA350 replied to 13CA350's topic in Phones and Tablets
I will have wifi at my apartment, but of course there is no guarantee there will be wifi when I am out, so I do not think that would be the best option -
In the spring, I will be studying abroad in Ireland from the US for approximately 4 months. Currently, I am on my family AT&T plan in the US, and have the iPhone 13 Pro. The AT&T phone I have is unlocked and I am using 1 of the e-sim slots for my current, primary number. This leaves me with 1 e-sim slot and 1 physical sim slot for use while I am abroad. Does anyone have advice as to the best carrier or plan while I am abroad? It would be best to hear from someone who lives in Ireland. I have been looking into both Vodafone and Virgin, so I am able to make calls and use data while in Ireland. I also will be traveling to other European countries while I am there so I am hoping for a plan that allows for that. I was at the AT&T store today and they pretty much informed me they have no international calling or data plan that would make sense, their only option is $10/ day.

I have to access a PDF file for work that is accessible via a static URL. Although the PDF changes several times throughout the day, the URL never changes. My issue is that the PDF is overwritten throughout the day with no way for me to view previous versions. If I check at 9am, then again at 1pm, I have no way to know or see if any changes were made between the two times. I've asked several times for a better solution from our customer with no success. Ideally, I would like to download this file on a scheduled basis (Probably 1-hour increments to start), and save it to my computer and automatically name the file with a static description plus date and time stamp. ( i.e. CorpData 2022-03-12 Update 0100PM ) My eventual plan is to set this up to run in the background on a raspberry pi and save it to a network drive so others in the office can see it too, and so we have a log from the file. Does anyone know what my best option would be to accomplish such a task?

Anyone know any software for this?

I have a raspberry pi setup to stream audio from a local EMS feed to broadcastify.com The quality from my radio, even without headphones, is a little rough. It has a fair amount of background noise and static. Is there software I can use to help clean this up? I've done pretty much everything I can when it comes to getting a bigger antenna and placing it in a better location. Ideally I'm looking for something that could be done live, rather than fixing it after the recordings are done. An audio sample is attached Audio Clip Test.mp3

I have an extra PC I am looking to set up for basic web browsing and email, can an Intel i3-3240 run a 3440x1440 display? No gaming, just Microsoft Word, email, and web browsing. Maybe Minecraft occasionally https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/65690/intel-core-i33240-processor-3m-cache-3-40-ghz.html

I guess it can be hard to describe to people who don't know, but I really do not want to give her Windows 11. She will have no clue how to use it and will end up in a panic when she can't figure out how to pay her bills Although I fully agree with you, for most people it is a very minor change, this is a very unique situatuion

Okay, that makes sense. Is anyone able to confirm if this works while downgrading using an OEM key?

My grandmother unfortunately is in desperate need for a new computer. Her problem is she really does not know how to use the computer very well at all. She still complains that she does not fully understand Windows 10 and she misses the days of Windows XP My fear is that any new PC is going to come with Windows 11 which she will never be able to figure out. Is it possible to roll back a new Windows 11 PC to Windows 10? Can I just reinstall Windows using an ISO or will I have issues with the product key?

On my grandparents PC they are getting the typical chrome error where the connection isn't secure. The problem also persists in Edge I already checked the date and time on their pc (Windows 10) and uninstalled and reinstalled chrome before I realized Edge does it too Anyone know what may be causing this? I also switched their DNS to CloudFlare 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 -

Windows will not recognize webcam, Zoom crashes when video is turned on
13CA350 replied to 13CA350's topic in Troubleshooting
If anyone searching in the future finds this, my issue ended up being with a USB hub. I have an Aukey USB hub/ switcher that allows me to switch my mouse, keyboard, stream deck, and webcam between my personal PC and laptop. I figured out that the streamdeck and webcam both pull a lot of power (makes sense) and I can use only one or the other on the USB hub, but not both (even though it is powered) So I plugged the webcam directly into my PC since I never use it when I am on my laptop anyway. Works fine now -

I have a personal PC that I built a few years ago and also a Razer Blade that I use for school. I have been using the Blade for school with my monitors and desktop perhipherals/ webcam for a while now. Next semester I was really hoping to switch over to my desktop, since it is more powerful than my Blade. I often have Zoom, Word, OBS, Excel, BlueBeam, and Revit all open and my Blade really gets bogged down and bluescreens occassionally. My webcam works perfectly on my laptop, but for some reason my desktop will not recognize it. When I plug it in and open Zoom, it freezes and crashes the second I open it. The same thing happens with Skype. Even the Logitech Camera software will not open. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the PC, and updated all software and none of this has fixed it. Does anyone know what the issue may be? I have attached screenshots of what software version I am running as well. I really don't want to reinstall Windows or anything like that.

I use OBS to record my college Zoom classes and it works great. I have set up my stream deck to switch scenes between my monitors, mute and un mute my mic (both in zoom and on recording), and changed the file save location to my onedrive folder. For some reason, I cannot record or stream my laptop screen. Even when I add a new scene with a new source and select the laptop display, it just records a black screen. I have tried re installing and it didn't fix it. It used to work great in the spring. Any ideas as to why this isn't working? I have the 2019 Razer Blade 15 which shouldn't be an issue as far as performance goes.
