  1. Laptops are so integrated its crazy and windows is not optimized. basically ranting because i have used gaming laptops for years now and the problems i have had are ridiculous. If you dont need a EGPU then dont get it.
  2. Def EVGA asus is great but terrifies and evga is usually cheaper or on sale. And noctua as much as i love them you dont need the cooling on 3070 get the ti
  3. What is ES??? is that like KS or kf or abcdefg? If it means the same as before then why does intel have to keep changing things. if its different then np.
  4. Well I assume you wont switch now (too deep) but laptop is probably best
  5. Ill go back and watch it. I could also argue that en EV has no efficiency at high speed vs low speed (city/highway) vs ICE that does have efficiency at high speed vs low speed. There are a lot of variables. And I guess IDC because it is expected to run low at low. I only care about when im using it or pushing it to limits.
  6. That would be a fun experiment. However based on this thread it would be good to have 1 a detailed page of your test ( scientifically) or a lab to test them out. For education on the topic.
  7. Why do you need a good igpu when your buying a dedicated one? That's my point ddr5 is not available. Neither is pcie 5.0. Get what you need not what you dont. Im sorry for your loss. Microcenter is a gift to us in the US. Again sorry for your loss. For this build I would would not go 12th gen that's just me. 10thor11th wont bottleneck CPU as proven by gamersnexus or jays2cents. I dont build with upgrading in mind because tech standards just change and will lead to new requirements. plus if you buy something cheap now and then go buy better later why waste that money and just save in the first place. I had 2 jobs and saved for 6 months for my first computer.
  8. Who was ordering builds, Ill start a company and take those orders no problem! Ill also make YouTube videos
  9. Link it plz This is hilarious, fellow car guy. Nice. I see your points. Idle should always be the same. if not better yoy. Id be interested to hook up 2-4 systems all gen over gen and Nvidia VS AMD VS Intel and hook a power meter up the the plug and run the same benchmark test. Maybe an Idea for the LAB @LinusTech idk how tags work and I couldn't find luke who works in the labs building or Anthony.
  10. 12th gen was new architecture and support for pcie 5.0 and ddr5 both of which will not be mainstream or stable for awhile. I see your point for upgrading but you don't need to upgrade. 10700k is multi core and plenty fast for a long time (5 years) by then tech will be so different you will need to upgrade anyways. Microcenter had the sale for 10700k new for $80 and most 10 and 11th gen is regularly on sale. The i3 was like $40 but none really bought it. I made the mistake of buying when it came out, never again. Ill wait till next gen and buy on sale. Or for 11th gen Ill wait for 2 gens by now. since 13th gen is here. No I'm talking new from microcenter. And almost every game doesn't need those cpus for marginal improvements. Use the money for 3070 instead. On offerup there are scalpers that are trying to sell the cards fast. and EVGA usually has sales under msrp.
