  1. Hello. I need your help, after years of using Intel i decide to build small AMD PC 5600x, Crosshair VIII Impact (Bios 3302). I have question regarding voltages. From Intel platform i mostly using Asus motherboard and i know that i shoudnt trust AUTO setting because on my all previus intel boards when i enable XMP my VCCio/sa was auto 1.4V+ and Vcore 1.45+ so i learned to set these voltage manualy and for Vcore i used negativ offset and from 90c+ to 60c+ is always nice. But i am little bit lost about AMD platform. From intel i always turn off MCE. But on on this crosshair motherboard there is Core performance boost, description is Automaticly OC CPU and DRAM if i turn this off i dont have turbo boost only Stock freguency. For Core voltage i know VID is just informative and true voltage is (Vcore) but Hwinfo shows even (CPU core voltage) so which is which? I really wonder why HWinfo shows chipset voltage but there is none in Bios can you even change it ? And those VDDG and VDDP voltage in bios but not showing in HWinfo. Should i set voltages manualy or let them be auto? Thank you
  2. There are many boards with LucidHydra that support Nvidia + ATi/AMD from my memory Maximus V Formula, Crosshair IV Extreme. and many more low-end to high-end boards from all vendors. If i recall corectly first version was on z68 and second version on Z77. I have Maximus V formula and i have Lucid Virtu MVP and this version required KEY to work, so i never find version or way to make this work
  3. Hello. I would like to share my little hardware collection. Pls feel free to share yours. Thanks to that damn virus, i finally took time to dust off and test my stuff and meanwhile at it i took picture I am proud about my Dual GPU and Asus Matrix collection, but damn there is so many card to collect
  4. I have 420mm rad. Well. if just opening browser 20c in 1s on water and 5c on Air something is weird right ? in CB15 65c in 1s on water and if i do more loop my CPu max 80c but temp of water go from 24c to 26c . on air max 65c
  5. Hello guys. I have problem with my water cooling. Before i put water cooling on my main rig i wanted to tested on backup rig. Maximus XI Apex + 9900KF ( i didnt want risk any leaks on my main rig). EK-WB Velocity was really pain in the ass to mount because it has big thumb nuts and Apex has RAM slots close to socket. I never had good thermal paste spread. I tried ball in middle or spread it with Spatula. And when i remove block there was just little paste on block iself. I tried mount several times... same result so i returned the water block. now i have Heatkiller IV pro. But with this spread is better (but so far my Noctua is still better) but when i am in windows and just open browser my temp jump from 25 to 40c. on noctua i have idle 30 and it jump to 35 so it looks like bad contact again. On youtube videos everyone tighten it fully down. But first i didn't have the block tighten fully down. So when system was running i tried tighten it little bit but no difference. I tried repaste and tighten fully down but PC won't boot Error 00. so i tried loosen up thumb nuts no change. i remove Cooler completely and just hold it onto CPU by hand no change. I swap CPU for 8350k again cooler hold just by hand still 00 after 2 restart PC finally boot. so i change 9900kf back and again 00 and after reset it boot. i tried tighten cooler it works but temps are not good. so now iam in state that i think motherboard hate me from changing cooler so many times. Pins look OK.The bad part is i wanted to give this backup to my brother for christmas and now i'm not sure and i can't return water cooling stuff because its too late.So far i didn't try mount back Air cooler i'm just tired from this. Now i'm concerned about motherboard and CPU if its just motherboard bug or something bad.I know NH-D15 is excellent cooler . But i wanted to try something new and wanted something that is quiet and good. But so far two water blocks are worst. i dont know what iam doing wrong. PS: sorry for my english
  6. I Know. I Have gaming PC, this was just for old time and fun try. i just ask, because i don't know if each SLI/Crossfire connector has some purpose or it doesn't matter where you plug in the SLI/Crossfire bridge
  7. Hello. i have 2x MSI Hawk 5770 and Sapphire 5770 Vypor-x. MSI has one crossfire conector but Sapphire has two , and i find that 5770 could do 3-way crossfire. And because crossfire connectors are not aligned i wonder if i connect them as on picture would it work? Thanks
  8. That is good point, i didn't think that far ahead
  9. Hello. Guys I need help. I bought Rampage IV Extreme (Just for fun time and overclock). The guy send me picture of socket. Everything look fine so i bought it, but at home after close inspection i notice something weird about socket. If you look from one side all pins are nice and shiny, but if you look from oposit side there is little dark spot. So i took board at work we have microscope there and we check it. And we found out that one pin has missing golden head (i am sorry i dont know how to say it better). So it's not bend so i can't try to fix it. I tried put electrical tape on CPU and put it into socket and close it, after i remove it from socket i check the tape and i can see that there is little mark so there should be contact but its not that big mark as the others pin of course.I tried power it and everything looks fine. All 4x4 GB are detected XMP works (in red slots didn't tried black), i check all PCIe slots and they work at correct speed. I tried find pin diagram to check what is purpose of that broken pin, but didn't find any nice one like you could find for 1151. So what i find it looks like that pin is for DDR1_DQ[16]. And i absolutely don't know what is that supposed to be. Should i be worried? Currently i have 3930k and i was planning to get some 4xxx K cpu. I have sticky copper tape and i was wondering if i could try put few little pieces on that specific pin on CPU side so there is bigger height and that could bring better contact That CPU socket and pin description are from intel datasheet from this Reddit post Thanks
  10. do you have latest bios? according to gigabite site it fix Vcore (but personally i would still try set negative offset) That 1.3V you tried was set manual ?
  11. Download HWinfo. and check your Vcore (don't be mistaken by VID, don't bother about it ) because all mobo at stock put really lots of voltage into CPU and that means lots of heat. so you could do negativ offset -0,040 or maybe more it depend on CPU ( everyone is diffrent) and LLC
  12. Sorry i don't know about anything. you could buy some RGB hub (terminal) but it will be more expensive, you should return this if possible and buy correct one
  13. you bought 5V (3 pin) Addressable RGB LED Strip (each LED or section) can be different color. But your motherboard support only 12V (4pin) RGB (whole strip is one color). So if you want use RGB on your motherboard you need to buy 4pin 12V RGB strip
