  1. So where does it save the mods? I found a ram 3500 mod that is awesome but the truck is a featherweight and the interior isn't lining up to the exterior very well.
  2. I'm over due on my upgrade for my cellphone. I currently have a LG G something or other. Its been a brilliant phone, it easily makes it through the day on a single charge (bluetooth, navigation, and screen always on). Anyways. I'm looking at the Blackberry Priv. I have a few concerns. Blackberries were previously notorious with batteries failing and the phones disassembling themselves with safe use. What I just described is what happened to my past two phones, both Blackberries, prior to my LG. So, Does the Blackberry priv have the same issues? does anyone own one that can share their experience?
  3. it would be great if the xbox app wasnt such a pile. The way more than noticable performance hit with the dvr. The only game i got to work with the sharing and recording was candy crush. So the xbox app is dead to me. The price bothers me. I already have a decent, but oldish desktop, and a fairly baller laptop that can chooch most games without issue. I have a hard time justifying the $400-$450ish price tag. Which doesn't include games, doesn't include membership. My buhds also arrived at similar conclusions. There really isn't a justifiable reason to get a console atm, they both (ps4 and one) are terrible options. I've played the xbox one, Forza 6, starwars, and that new call of duty. Forza 6 is a f'n pile and I regret mentioning it. The one fails to satisfy what the 360 did so freakin well. Which was that it created excitement and encouraged groups of buhds to play and chat together. The ps3 on the other hand had better graphics, and had zero concentration on community, and subsequently failed. The proof is in the ps4 where they ditched the ps3 model and copy and pasted the 360's model. When the 360 was coming out, they had ads of the designers saying we wanted the box to look like it was going to explode because it has so much power. Xbox One, its a black box that looks like a f'n VCR with its chincy glossy plastic. One of the first things you see when you turn on the 360 was information about how many people are online and an image displaying whos online on the dashboard with "press x to join party". It took my buhd and I 10 minutes to find out how to create a party. Its buried under similar looking menus. What ever happened to contrast... This whole bs about consoles being easier to get going is total crap. Consoles need to install the game first, and it takes a ridiculous amount of time, and updates do not occur automatically. PC, steam is brilliant, automatically updates your games, allows for multiple installation disks, and steam sales are also awesome. Game settings can't get much more simpler than low, medium, high, very high. Most games now adays do an excellent job at getting the screens rez and appropriate settings for the machine for a decent experience.
  4. my fart-box isnt choochin right. I have 3 tv's at my current use. TV A: 32 inch gen 1 lcd display. the "thick as a credit card is wide" variety. 720pish, ive gotten a strange rez on my laptop when correcting for over-scaling. TV B: 20 inch TOSHITTIA with built in dvd player. from same era of TV A. 720pish its a hoopty. TV C: 30ish inch Sony's-abusive-wife about 1 year old. 1080p i have two hdmi cables at my use HDMI A: Bought it from a store which justifies its $40+ mark up by being a "local business", anyways it was $60 for it. approx. 6 ft. HDMI B: may have come on a pallet, its about 20ish feet long. judging by my height and how many times i can loop it to approx. my height. I have discovered the following. TV A never in history the 360 got to chooch on. Currently I cant get the display to detect a connection. TV B has several times over a long period of time has chooched on it. Currently, I can see the image flickering, which may be correlated to wiggling the hdmi on the 360 end. It changes the tone of the screen when the hdmi is plugged in. There is zero doubt in my mind it detects a convo. I have tried both TV A and TV B with both HDMI A and HDMI B. Results do not vary. Both cables work on a laptop. TV C choochs fine. No irruptions. No black screen. The settings on the fart-box is 420p, disabled screen discovery (causes black screen completely on TV B ). The goal is to get the fart-box to chooch on both TV A and/or TV B. I HAVE TRIED RT + Y FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. it restarted several times, but did not display an image after being left alone for about 35-40 mins. I repeat it works fine on TV C but TV C is a communal tv and is not the best option. THerefore TV A and TV B will be best. The last tv the fart-box worked on was a 60 inch 1080p Samsung which it chooched on for about 3-4 years.
  5. is this better than the other router i found? http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-product?pid=01t80000003KdJ7AAK I dont pay attention to wireless routers at all.
  6. I am looking for a router that can handle about 30 users (not all active), the users typically look at websites and apps on their phone. the range only needs to be about 30 feet. Price around $250. I was looking at this: http://www.linksys.com/ca/support-product?pid=01t80000003KdJ7AAK Let me know if you need more information, but i believe i covered everything, I am not looking for an access point, I am looking for a wireless router.
  7. Hi, I finally got my swan m10 speakers from massdrop last week. The speakers where supposed to ship January 20 or 21. anyways, the speakers are making a popping noise every time I turn on a fan or lamp. Which makes me assume that the speakers are not properly grounded. besides buying a UPS, is there any other solutions?
  8. Hi, I have solved the issue, This more of a warning than anything else. So, here we go. When developing an app, I typically just install the app to my phone (LG E971 or LG Optimus G) and debug from there. The issue of VelocityTracker.recycle() appeared literally as I was about to push the app out the door to friends that requested it. So heres the issue: (assume all code shown functions as expected on android 4.4 and below. "...." indicates a removal of code to keep to the topic. public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent mv) { int id = mv.getActionIndex(); int act = mv.getActionMasked(); int pointer = mv.getPointerId(id); switch (act) { case MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN: .... case MotionEvent.ACTION_CANCEL: mVelocityTracker.recycle(); break; } As you notice VelocityTracker.recycle() is called in the case of MotionEvent.ACTION_CANCEL. Now its completely possible for this case to happen twice in a row, on non-5 flavors of android, no exception will be thrown, it will behave as if it just ignored the second calling of .recycle(). Now, on android 5, if the .recycle() is called twice, it will throw the "IllegalStateException" claiming that the the memory has already been added to the pool. The solution: Super simple: //trycatch to fix android 5 only bug. FFS. try { mVelocityTracker.recycle(); break; } catch(IllegalStateException e) {break;} Conclusion: No idea why there was a behavior change, nor do I care; it may just be a bug in Android 5. I made this post for those who maybe very confused at what is happening to their app on very specific versions of android.
  9. okay, I was looking at the performance of those ram cached samsung drives. Basically I was looking for a reason to drop the $200 something on it with the capacity i want.
  10. Hi, I have in my daily driver Laptop a 240gb OCZ vertex 3. It has about 11,000 operating hours and just under 19 TB of life time writes. The drive is perfectly healthy according to smart. Hearing that ssd's can die rather unexpectedly, when should i replace this ssd? I would prefer not to have any down time on my daily use laptop. Its much faster just to clone an ssd than to download off the home server remotely, Im at uni.
  11. we played both pay days, payday 2 is a bit of a turd to run, it doesn't look any better than most of the games we have played but fps is stupid low. Definitely will look into robocraft, I saw a trailer of that awhile ago, it looked really good
  12. do you have any recommendation for a multiplayer game? This is something we only do in our spare time and we both dont have baller gaming rigs yet. gt 740m with a dual core i5 is kinda the ball park of the performance we are dealing with here.
