  1. see i would do this but those are awful for cable management and finding a black pcb with a black pci bracket is so annoying .
  2. its not about making money tbh, breaking even is good enough untill i can find some where local to handle cnc and welding i'll go back to custom cased pcs, i did a aluminum open air case shaped like a reference 980ti once that was one i regretted selling but sadly slough trading estate doesnt have any metal workers of that kind anymore.
  3. i have a 3tb hdd to use for the game storage and i was thinking a shared library so non of the games have to be on any of the pc's actual storage like use it a shared G drive full of the shared steam games, assuming that steam doesnt expect us to load from a seperated library even though the games have all been bought on the 3 accounts.
  4. but again the thing isnt for myself because i can build a pc when ever i want tbh. i build them as a hobby and sell on ebay and fb marketplace. but the idea was get the best experiance for my uncle who is still on a 3570k and 1600mhz ddr3 with a gtx 970. ive said in previous posts ive been saving for like 4-5 months for the 2nd gen rtx card top teir ive got just over 4k stacked up atm and i have a 3950x sat here doing fuck all atm due to still not having the the hardware to make it worth using. i dont intend to use the most powerful cpu ive ever own that i couldnt afford brand new legitimately with a 2060 or 2070, 3950x would make sense with a 3080super or ti but thats beacuse im thinking what i can do later in the year and next. thats waht i ment by they missed the point i dont need the console or a pc perse but i was aiming to gift someone a better gaming experiance and wanted to be sure if the console is deffo going to be the better option vs building a pc and im 90% sure it will be. as tbh it always is on release but then looking at witcher 3 on consoles vs his 3570k and 970 those aged better than xbox one and ps4 lol.
  5. im curious i got alot of ryzen 1600s 7 of them to be exact and ive noticed all the ryzen boards have 6 usb ports on the back within the 50-200 pounds mark. isnt there a board with 8 or more? im constantly running out of usb ports. i literally had to resort to usb over lan the other day which sucked. i wanna build these to try and perfect a build i can replicate and sell via ebay or amazon. oh and also cure some late night boredem.
  6. i have a laptop mobo that i can boot up easily and boot from a usb3 drive leaving the 3tb hdd untouched. it has gigabit ethernet and its a decent intel one and the cpu is a i5 3360m. is this good enough to run it as a nas connected directly to my switch that also connects to my 3 pcs and my living room pc. the idea is that because i bought a few copies of cod and some steam games and my cousin just moved in after almost being homeless i figured theres 5 of us here now why not game together.
  7. no in the uk the console even at 500 gbp is always the better option even a 2060 is roughly 300 gbp and a 1660 super is not far off the 300 mark so factor that witha 2600x or 3600x between 200 and 315 and a 16gb 3200 ram kit at roughly 80-120 (cosmetics up the cost ofc) gbp motherboard thats a b450 chipset at 117 for anything decent with good customer support, a 550w psu lets say non modular for 65 then a 2060 for 333 gbp were already over the xbox series x price and we've not even added storage, case, cooling fans or a mouse and keyboard. theres a better chance of covid actually being part of a cancer cure than M$ or Sony charging over 500 for the new consoles. and thats the launch variants the mid life refreshes are a thing too which will be very nice bits of kit. also bare in mind the xbox series x is supposed to be superior to the 2080 because console optimisation but it should be equal regardless. 2060 is not.
  8. for the most part yes but control even without rtx looks amazing vs gta 5 or red dead but thats mainly because red dead looks shite unless you can max it out at 1440p at 90fps +
  9. no love for forza 7? and i think black desert looks incredible anyone know of mmos with similar graphics with a easier to follow story cause i dont lol. tho i personally think runescape 3 and wow are doing great graphically since runescape launched 2001 and wow 2004.
  10. old illidan stormrage. i hope we see him in our fight with sylvanas in shadowlands.
  11. honestly im pretty done with skyrim and yeah ive been reduced to use oldrim and nmm but its just been easier to have a friend isntall my mods and send me the game on a 128gb m.2 usb. funnily enough skyrim vr is what made me fall in love with skyrim in the first place.
  12. i love this map and rust and shoothouse as long as its not the garden centre 50+kills is garenteed.
  13. if you dont mind the change in gameplay for each one dragon age all 3 titles are great. and dragon age 3's Tresspasser DLC will have you foaming at the mouth after playing all 3 b2b and then seeing the ending of that dlc.
  14. the issue is that battle.net is cancer for activisions games and after my experience with it on modern warfare 2019 i WILL NOT be buying another activision game until they use steam again.
  15. yeah loading games has never been an issue for me tbh. tho gta loads like shite on anything and 8tb ssd would mean having all my games that i swtich between or play when i have friends over, and all my disc backups. i dont intend to switch from hdds as my storage untill i have large capacitys to back all my steam games and gog games up and have one to actually use. also ive started using my folding pc as a steam nas so all my games install there so my internal storage is free.
  16. skyrim ive never managed to get mods installed nicely ever since the way they screwed up the installation method with vortex, that ended skyrim modding for me.
  17. i havent played any metro games other than that one thats more like a thriller where u find out that guys dad is lying to you at the start.
  18. yes see i have doom i just havent played it myself yet. but i loved gears 5 and it wasn't totally pc optimized since there are features they could have let us have and didn't include them.
  19. hes right dude, thats why i was askign if building a pc was worth it when xbox one will be mid range dont forget nvidia has claims they have stuff in the works 75% faster than 2080super. and amd is just starting its rnda 2 stuff and you know they'll be looking to violate intel and nvidia at the same time. so middle of next year xbone will be mid range but next years mid range is going to be awesome. also price to performance vs what a pc eqquivelent will cost its a no brainer at this point to go for xbone. and then save to build a top teir monster. still have a 3950x to use. so ill base my build on that and a monster gpu.
  20. so i was thinking what game has the best available graphics right now? so some things to list that make my question more answerable; no RTX features. 1920x1080 or 2560x1080 are the resolutions im thinking about. no RTS or MOBA titles 3rd person or first person games only. so the best looking game i can remember playing was the witcher 3 or kingdom come maxed out. tho i played those on my friends pc while he was on holiday and in 4k.
  21. now for the real reply. you guys missed the point entirely. the aim of my question was to establish whether 500 pounds for a xbox series x is going to give more than a 500quid pc will after or duirng lockdown bs. my reasoning is that for 1, everything is selling out. 2nd hand market is increasing drasticly and in the uk and eu we have to pay discusting ammounts vs the us for computer components yet i can pick up a 70" 4k oled tv for 300 pounds. its pretty stupid. and the fact that i can actually buy some compnents cheaper from the us including the shippings and paying the taxes and still save between 15-25 quid is crazy atm.
  22. tbh all desktop setups are midrage compared to what i worked with last ye ar. but i have access to machines that make what i could afford myself feel like toys lol. 2nd. i know how it works. i used to sell seemless textures and create comissioned 3d models and its a similar model. and yes i use harddrives because they dont sell a 8TB ssd yet and i refuse to pay money for something that wont improove my experiance. hence why ive gone back to a rx580 8gb and sold all my other gpus other than my 1070 which is folding atm. ive saved roughtly 2n half grand uk pounds for the next gen RT cards. but even then im still going to wait for the mid year refresh.
  23. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Electriq-144Hz-FreeSync-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B07TVD1WYF/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=hdr+monitor&qid=58594611&sr=8-14 Amazon.co.uk and this monitor seems too good to be true for the price. Perhaps a future video for LTT? Because I honestly want a new monitor with hdr for under £300
  24. so if im wising up to the flaws of traditional capitalism this covid bs is gunna cause price inflation on everything. so my question is after covid lockdown is it even worth building pc's for a while. xbox series x will probably work out cheaper by A LOT right? and what with m$ and call of duty allowign us to use cross play and mouse and keyboard and cronus max being dirt cheap these days, there is ZERO point building someone something that preforms worse for more than £500 vs series x fatbox on launch?
  25. so im using a xz350cu 144hz 21:9 monitor but its dying. i kinda want to start using 1440p with hdr. 60/75hz is fine. im really accurate in cod and i dont play many other fps since crossplatform has made it easy to whoop people on cod and fortnite. runing 1440p at 60/75hz will be fine. i wont be able to push much past 75hz though.
