IkeaGnome reacted to GOTSpectrum for a blog entry, Day Twenty Three - Take A Moment
Good evening folks, I am the first to admit that I am not at my best and unfortunately today is one of those days. For reasons that are not needed here, I'm struggling a wee bit. But the event, the event marches on and waits for no man. So here we are, another blog in a long line of blogs, both past and future. But first, we have yet another message of prizes, this time it comes from LTT themselves! They are offering a UniFi Dream Machine Pro (lightly used) and a surprise unifi switch to the prize pool. It is incredible to see all the support we have gotten this year and I hope it is a sign of further support for future events and for the folding team as a whole.

Today I wish to take a moment for us all to take a pause, to appreciate the beauty of the world, the beauty of life and the beauty of humanity. I wish to take a moment for us all to think of those we fold for, to think of those we love, of those who are battling to preserve their life, to think of those we have lost. For many of us, the reason we partake in the project that is folding, in these events, in the team is to try to help other families not feel the pain and loss that we have. We fold in their name, now and always.

Now, with that passed, we shall move on to looking at how the team has performed. As a team, we have managed to produce 2,071,475,100 points over the last 24 hours, which that means although it is on the lower side, it is still very much a massive improvement over the last event. For week four of the event we have produced 4,173,695,853 and for the event as a whole we have bagged a massive 48,979,388,889 points. Honestly, I can not stress enough how proud I am to see the team doing so well and to see the number of people who have not only signed up but have gone on to actually fold. As for the daily breakdown, the top 10 did 39.53% of the total, the top 50 produced 68.39% and the top 100 managed 84.83% points. When looking at what that reflects as points it looks like, 818,863,944 for the top 10, 1,416,771,986 for the top 50 and 1,757,313,164 points for the top 100. On the work unit front, we managed a total of 5,434 Work Units, a marked decline from my last blog post. For the week thus far that goes up to 11,018 Work Units and finally, for the event as a whole, we have managed to fold through 131,279 Work Units. A truly incredible number that represents hope for many, that represents the slow march of process.

Now how are the team looking, The top of the table is rather devoid of any sense of excitement or thrill so we will promptly report the stats and move on to something more juicy. Mxyzptlk is in first place with 3,151,808,926 points. Shlouski is in second place with 2,600,910,338, followed by miker07 who is the last on the podium with 2,349,594,647 points. Justaphf continues his slow march on the podium with 2,334,878,111 points followed somewhat distantly by jakkuh_t who is sitting in 5th place with 2,132,372,317 points. Alex Atkin UK is in 6th with 1,699,827,916 points, Gorgon is up next in 7th with 1,519,421,592 points. firedfly had his worst day on record but takes 8th with 1,148,598,346 points and _Rlocke seems to be gunning for his rank, taking up 9th with 1,111,097,217 points. Finally, we have the honourable gatekeeper, Fun fact with my dyslexia it took me 3 years of these events to be able to consistently spell honourable. vsteel is taking up the post once again with 807,007,575 points to his name.

Now let's find us some excitement to look at, we have MatchMaker22, who takes the rank of 140 after climbing 6 ranks, he has managed an impressive 62,087,464 points so far during the event. I have to say I'm disappointed they have yet to reach out with the love of my life, a pretty poor matchmaker if you ask me. TMan95 is another person who gained six ranks to take over 149th with 54,015,149 points. He is outproducing everyone around him and is likely to keep up his claim through the ranks going forward. JustComputerUnit, a name I don't think I have mentioned yet during this event gained five ranks to fill 175th with 38,023,184 points. parzival0741 gained an incredible ten ranks to take over 191st with 31,809,109 points. sazrocks, a name I'm rather familiar with has had the biggest gain today of 12 ranks to take over 225th with 21,120,918 points.

Another day another one billion point user. It is truly amazing to see that we had nine users who passed the billion-point barrier at the end of Folding Month V. So we are definitely going to pass that matric by the end of the event. It really is crazy to think how much has changed in the last 12 months on the folding front. With the roll-out of 40 series cards to more people and having a higher number of participants things are looking good. I'm going to try to work more closely with LMG next year to attempt to get even more of an uptake. On the writing front, I have to say, I have done very little lately. I just can't seem to get in the mood for it.

How are the team looking overall, well I'm pretty sure everyone will be as pleased as I am that we have had a bumper day. Managing to produce 2,200,567,106 points, it is certainly an impressive day. For the week that brings us up to 6,455,620,538 points. Looking solid, we did fifteen and half billion points last week, so if we keep it up at this rate we may surpass that. For the event as a whole, we have produced 36,162,754,055, surpassing the total of the entirety of Folding Month V. On the Work Unit front, things are looking just as pleasing, today the team folded through 6,087 Work units, also a bump from yesterday. For the week we have folded through 17,479 Work Units and for the event as a whole, we are rapidly approaching the 100k mark with 97,441 Work Units. As for the daily breakdown, we can see that the top 10 produced 37.58% of the team's total, the top 50 did 70.55% points and finally the top 100 did a slightly lower 85.77% of the points. That works out to 827,025,852 points for the top 10, 1,552,482,176 points for the top 50 and 1,887,444,985 points for the top 100 of the event.

We are now going to look at the ranks like we usually do, but with the top 21 having no rank changes it's going to be in the form of a list with little to no commentary. Mxyzptlk is in first place with 2,285,130,417 points. Shlouski is in second place with 1,936,880,957 points. miker07 is in this place with 1,716,667,869 points. Justaphf is in 4th with 1,669,318,652 points. jakkuh_t is in 5th with 1,590,865,667 points. Alex Atkin UK is in 6th place with 1,193,288,742 points. Gorgon is taking up 7th with 1,065,939,621 points, meaning is the latest person to pass the billion-point mark. firedfly is looking to be the next person to join that club taking the rank of 8th with 985,372,374 points. _Rlocke is next up taking the rank of 9th with 774,066,674 points. Finally, the honourable gatekeeper we have vsteel, who takes his post with 591,496,989 points.

Frugivore8894 is the first person we will be looking into across the ranks, after gaining four ranks and overtaking TVwazhere he finds himself in 112th with 61,686,623 points, after producing 5,069,064 points he will surely be claiming further up the ranks in the coming days and weeks. woldemort had an incredible day, gaining a massive 31 ranks to take over 139th with 45,118,798 points. Blackfish11 gained 9 ranks to take over 153rd with 39,638,213 points. Producing almost seven million points he is another that is likely to keep climbing. SpaceRazor is keeping up his his production and has been rewarded with a further 20 ranks increase taking him to 168th with 32,212,877 points. Finally we have Lacho who gained 16 ranks to take over 208th with 20,045,534 points.

So here we are, yet again another year has passed up by and we are once again cranking the dials to 11.

I know for many of you this year will be painful, we are seeing a global energy crisis of the likes many of us have never seen before.
Some of you, this will be the first time in which you have joined us, and for a very select few this will be your chance to get the event veteran badge.
For those few of you out there who join me in the elite club of joining every single folding month, I owe you a special than you, you guys are truly fanatics. But, for those of you joining for the first time, welcome, we are happy to have you in our ranks and I'm sure you will slot right in.

I think it would be irresponsible of me not to give this warning, if you cannot afford the power usage of your hardware, please stop. We understand that it is a hard time for many of us with money atm and a forum badge is not worth getting into debt for.

As many of you can see I have decided on a new change with this years blog, I'm trialing centre alignment for the blogs. The truth is as I've gone on with my own journeys of creating written content I have just come to prefer this style. If it causes any issues please let me know.

In October we produced more points as a team as we did during folding month last year, so I am expecting big things this year!

Anyway, less off me waffling on and let's get to folding!

Well here we are, at the end of the event, battered, bruised and some of us noticeably lighter in the wallet, but we made it through! Over 80% of sign ups this event made the minimum requirements, that is an impressive number considering we usually are lucky to get 50% or so of people who signed up making onto the final sheet. As expected we have a new king! With Den-Fi no longer on the forum there was always going to be a new king, but this is shocking. A first timer not only competing well but taking the throne, what dedication!

As is usually the case, I want to thank everyone who got stuck in and pulled off yet another amazing folding month. Even with a smaller turn out than usual we still got over 17 billion points for the event, truly amazing guys! It truly is only a great event because all of you guys who get involved.

I would also like to give a special thanks to @cbigfoot who once again stepped up and made sure the event ran smoothly when others in the team fell ill... and by others I mean myself. Not only validating but also inputting data and even sharing the points update to the event thread when I was unable to do so. Also a thanks to @leadeater for continuing to improve the data gathering script, and also for running it and storing the data on his google drive so we can more easily access the data we need.

Please can all make sure we donate a few dollars to Jason over at EOC, his servers must have taken a beating with all the traffic we have thrown at the guy over the last month or so. You can either use this PayPal link or find the PayPal donation button on the EOC Website on the left. Don't forget to include a note thanking him so he knows its from team LTT.  My personal go to is, 'From LTT with love' but you are free to write your own.

I didn't think I would be writing this again for a second year, but yet here it is. this year has been another stressful, uncertain and anxiety provoking time. With the continued COVID pandemic, and all the issues that it brings, along with soaring costs of living, such as higher food and energy costs has affected most, if not all of us. But, there will be an end, eventually, at some point things we find a few, more comfortable normal. Many of us are in the grip of a fourth wave of COVID that seems to be worse than ever, so stay safe, wear your masks and finally try not to worry to much.

Now, it is time to get to what we have all waited for, THE RANKS!

In first place we have @IgorSinelnikov, who has overcome all others to become the one sitting on the throne with 1,531,645,523 points, it was an incredible effort and unlike some other, less kind kings of the past he didn't truly dominate throughout the event. Instead he came from lower down the ranks and fought tooth and nail to finally find himself taking the throne by the slimmest of margins. One thing to note though, Igor certainly is no Den-Fi, who during last folding month broke well past the two billion point barrier. Nonetheless, He shall be celebrated, for he is our king... at least for the next 12 months.

In second place we have @miker07, Miker is a veteran of folding events, unfortunately he has never taken the throne, it does have to be said that this is his best showing not only in rank but also in points. With 1,528,821,202 to his name by the end of the event he was so close to taking the number one spot, missing out by less than three million points. Despite that he has much to be proud of, and is truly a shining star among the team.

In third place we have @Ben_F, Ben showed that with determination you can do great things. he remained calm and collected throughout the event maintaining his level of production pretty consistently. Taking the number three spot with 1,356,257,706 is certainly nothing to turn your nose up at.

Fourth place is taken by @Mxyzptlk, who is yet another participant who has passed the billion point barrier this event. An amazing feat that should not be underestimated, they have taken the position with 1,039,905,322. Having a healthy margin behind is certainly good to see.

Fifth place is taken by @Justaphf, they are someone who has participated only once before and yet has found themselves in a respectable position taking 5th place with 900,950,824.

    6th is @Pezui with 447,626,570 points.

    7th is @Starman57  with  440,253,400 points.

    8th is @Favebook  with  433,518,142 points.

    9th is @vsteel with  388,029,958 points.

    10th is  @GOTSpectrum with  385,256,275 points.
