  1. 128 gb SSD on main machine and only HDD in VMware lab computer. takes a long time to spin anything up.... SSD would be awesome, problem - cant afford something decent now...
  2. Keyboard looks great... would be great to get something other than laptop KB
  3. Best thing for me - the screen. Seems to be really good. Second - speakers I thought that dbrand products were hard to apply The skin on Z2 looks awesome!
  4. I like the display port. Also there could be an optical out in that mic/headphone combo (or maybe in the subwoofer port).
  5. Its good that I have asked before buying it Maybe in time i will put second SSD and put them in RAID0, but probably the advantage will be marginal. RAM problem still stays - cant put 2 sticks of 4 gigs, as it might be unstable, so i will just have to change the current ones to 8 gig and later add 2 more... or save some money to get 4 sticks of 8 at the same time. Thanks for the help
  6. Would a 2 sets of 2x8 ram cause instability as well? Because in the future i would like to have max ram (32gigs) as working with huge photo files it would help a lot. Probably i will put an HDD instead of optical because i will change one to SSD anyway and it will just be laying around (i dont plan on using it as external drive).
  7. Hello, I do want to upgrade my MI GT780DXR but I hit a wall trying to figure out the avliabiliies of what can be done. Current setup: i7-2670; nVidia GTX570M (3gb) DDR 3 1333 2x4 gigs 2xWD scorpio black 500GB in RAID0 I do want to get an SSD (Samsung 840EVO 250gb probably), but I cant findout what sata conectors i have (3 or 6 gbs).. Will the connector be a bottleneck? Or maybe its even possible to put this SSD instead of optical drive (haven't used it yet in 2 years) as I will not be using it in RAID aanyway? Second thing - I need a lot more RAM (some programs i use needs it a lot). Planning on getting a kit 2x8gb to populate the 2 remaining slots. I suppose there will be no problem that i use 2x4g and 2x8 gb? Main problem - cant get a PC as I have to travel a lot, so the only option is to upgrade this laptop Thanks in advance
  8. And final question would be: How does theese DACs (Head streamer/nuforce) compare to some more portable like FiiO E07K/HeadRoom total bithead? As i use 5th gen iPod classic and i know that it has better DAC then the average mp3 player. You people helped me a lot. I am a beginner in HiFi music and i dont want to get upset if i chose something depending on just the numbers :)
  9. Then probably its better to get a DAC for approximately the same price?
  10. Well i know if u have poor quality onboard soundcard then its expected that you get something better using soundcard. But how about the dynaudio one...? how it compares to the cheaper USB soundcards?

    USB soundcards

Hello there, I have MSI GT780DXR with on-board dynaudio sound. I was wondering whether should I get USB soundcard (like Xonar u3 or creative Recon3d - I know, the price difference is significant) for better quality. I know it only give me advantage of 5.1 emulation (like Dolby headphone), but what about overall quality? It could be that i will not get quality improvement because of the headphones/speakers bottleneck... But if it would, how big of a difference i should expect? I couldn't find any extensive comparison of such products (maybe the only one being hi-fi forums). Headphones i use are Sennheiser HD 429, Sennheiser CX685 (rarely using them on laptop - mainly for mp3 player) and have I Logitech speakers Z5500. :)
