  1. This was my other option in mind, but it is a tad expensive. I might get it though. Maybe if COVID dies down enough that prices are sane again.
  2. I personally do not play very many games (FPS's?) that require a high refresh rate, and I care more about how it looks. Does the faster refresh still make games that are not competitive look better (smoother?) ? (not sure if that made sense) Used is an option, but I would like new better. (the display is a gift, the people buying it for me want to purchase new and online) Or would it be better to save up an extra $200 and get a well-reviewed 1440 monitor?
  3. It's in between regular and abnormal (in my entirely incorrect opinion). For me my RAM usage varies from half a gig to 3GBs. Maybe some optimizing is necessary, but nothing bad.
  4. I'm looking for a good 1440p monitor for around $200-350USD that has the "regular" specs requested in a monitor (60 or more HZ response, low response time). Are the monitors in this price bracket even worth it? I was thinking of the Acer V277U at is "cheap" and has good specs (I couldn't find any reviews though ). Any recommendations? Edit: Forgot to add, this will be paired with either a 2070 or 2070 Super, will be used for gaming and video editing (color isn't a priority since i'm not a professional)
  5. I *would* but this is an "emergency" PC. I as thinking to buy the GPU last and put in my own money and use a used GPU or one I already have in the meantime.
  6. The AMD cards are a very good value, but I would like RTX, and little driver issues. (i'm a little of an Nvidia fanboy too) Aren't 2070's also $400? (at least at my area). I'd rather get a 2070. BTW I already had parts picked out.
  7. I'll probably get RTX Minecraft, Starfield/TESVI (when they finally come out), whatever the new Battlefield will be, ultra-modded Bethesda games (that's what inspired me to get a PC, my Xbox kept crashing playing no-mod Fallout 4), and other assorted games. I would like the GPU to focus on open-world games, with "super-duper" settings with RTX on. In non-competitive titles, FPS is less of a priority over things looking good, but it can't be less than 30-50FPS. The card must also be better than the new Xbox. What is the performance between the 2070 and 2070S?
  8. No, I will probably buy the monitor myself. Preferably it should be under $300. I would wait, but i'm operating off of a Core 2 Quad right now.
  9. For an under $1500 build, which one should I get? It will be paired with a 3700X. I don't want to utilize the full $1500, since the PC will be a gift to me (i do not want to waste other people's money). The PC will be used for "heavy" gaming, video and photo editing, and music creation. The resolution I wanted to game at is 1080 or 1440 at 60FPS. I originally wanted the 2070S for the performance, but I had second thoughts about the ~500 price tag (AMD is a good value, but I would like ray tracing). Could a monitor also be recommended for the GPU that is best?

  13. I meant in general for the mITX boards, is X570 better? Also, I was asking if I should suck up the size of the MAX for more features. Great info though, thanks.
  14. How do the features compare to the Tomahawk MAX? Are the VRMs good enough for a decent overclock, and is the maximum ram speeds being 3466 a limitation? I also saw a Gigabyte board for the same price, is this any good? For a mITX Ryzen 3000 system, am I better off saving for a X570 mITX or using the MAX?
