  1. I appreciate the informative post, I really was not aware of this. And I know it sounds weird I wasn’t trying to “whine” it’s just obnoxious I gotta pay 20 dollar shipping for one cable. In the grand scheme when buying a 800+ video card that shouldn’t be a big deal but it’s the principle of the matter.
  2. Like the title says, are they bad especially with high end cards
  3. Also a 3080 does not cost 1400 dollars so your on something. I think your mistaken for the 3090
  4. Alright if you can link me a 8 pin pcie white modmesh cable that ships to the USA then I’ll quit but I couldn’t find it.
  5. So I’ve seen some pictures online of some aib cards that in place of a 12 pin I see 3 8 pin connectors? Is this seriously going to be the norm? Almost feel like I wasted my money on cablemod cables because they only supply 2 8 pin connectors so I’d have to use one of my seasonic supplied ones (that came with psu). Just wondering if there will be any 2 8 pin and a 6 pin or just two 8 pin 3080s. If anyone knows that’d be great.
  6. Games will not utilize all of the gpu ram. Unless your running 4k your 8 gigs will almost never run out. If your cpu is getting to 94c it’s going to throttle and hurt your performance. Get a laptop fan stand thing, blow some cool air into the unit and see if that helps
  7. This is a silly suggestion but your power brick is plugged in while your trying to play right ? Most gaming laptops need to be plugged in for it to use the gpu full power
  8. So glad I bought cablemod cables just to be made obsolete if I want a powerful gpu.
  9. The seasonic gx and px series 850 watt are on Newegg right now for their msrp. Act fast (as long as your from the USA lol)
  10. Is there a reason you want 128 gigs of ram? I know that’s not what your asking for but this has struck my curiosity
  11. I had a very similar problem with my brand new rmx850. Had to return it sadly. It would crash 15 mins into stress tests no matter what I did
  12. Very interesting, the only thing I could think of is you rattled up your hdd (which probably would have broke it but if it works then that’s probably not the issue) or windows 10 in all it’s glory is just messing with you, it’s happened to me with my WiFi lol. But this doesn’t sound like a psu issue, sounds like windows 10 or your motherboard is having some issue. My money would be windows 10 though.
  13. Honeslty don’t know ones that don’t have glass panels (because that’s not my taste) but the Corsair 275r airflow edition has 360 support in the front, the asus gt501 also has 360 support
  14. Yea As much as I think ryzen 4th gen will be a good upgrade I think in 5 years If they continue to pave the path who knows what will end up with. Not to mention in 5 years Maybe ddr5 will be the standard lots of things to look forward too, (he’s getting a upgrade from a 3570k for his bday) so you can tell just by that it’s going to be a while until he gets something new lol. Thanks for the information
  15. Sorry I miss read your comment, you said 4th gen lol my bad, it’s for my brothers pc he’s not going to upgrade for another 5 years he holds onto the hardware so it’ll be a completely new platform at that point
  16. Yea the b450 tomahawk is never in stock every time I check, the x470 gaming plus MAX (as far as I know the max refresh means it runs ryzen 3000) it also clearly says it does as well, it’s 120 on Newegg I was just making sure there wasn’t some major difference but it doesn’t seem like it is going to matter.
  17. Besides the color scheme difference, are the vrms the same on these two boards? I see there in the same tier but besides the color and the extra usb and m.2 slot is there any other differences or a reason to buy the b450 over the x470? (Pairing with a 3600)
  18. Jonny guru is like the dad everyone wants in the power supply department. He knows a lot
  19. I agree with tofu, this solution is ridiculous, what asus board do you have because I haven’t heard of this.
  20. Both, some gpus won’t even boot without both connected for safety purposes. But you need both
  21. Just reread your question lol, I confused myself. Plug in both.
  22. Correct me if I’m wrong because your question is very confusing but, if you are asking if you need a cable that has a 6 + 8 cable on one end or two separate cables that each connect to the power supply, the answer is simple. Both solutions work you just need to plug in a 8 and a 6 pin it will not matter if it’s separate or one cable turning into two. As long as it’s a pcie cable.
  23. Sorry he lives in another city , so I don’t have a picture of the actual unit but it’s this one https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Power-Supply-Units/Enthusiast-Series™-TX750-V2-—-80-PLUS®-Bronze-Certified-750-Watt-High-Performance-Power-Supply/p/CMPSU-750TXV2
  24. So I’m upgrading my brothers pc for his birthday, he’s got a old tx (gold label) 750 from Corsair. It’s problably around 7 years old. He’s getting new parts apart from the video card. (Ryzen 3600, paired with a 1070) I honestly don’t know how well built this older power supply is and I was wondering if it would be fine with these components until Christmas for I will be replacing it for him then as a present.
